Every time an Agoda customer checks out of a hotel we send them an email asking them to write a review of their stay. This is the only way reviews can be submitted. Prompt & friendly service
By the river and bus stop out front

after a short cab ride from the main train station -smn - i was greeted with a friendly smile and prompt service. my room was next to the courtyard downstairs and though a couple of people used the courtyard of an evening, it was not for long and it was very quiet & peaceful. room equipped with shower, tv with english channels and big comfy bed. safe was also in the room. staff were great,especially when my room key had problems getting the door open, within a matter of minutes the housekeeper was there to help me out. the hotel is by the river which is lovely to stroll any time of the day but it is a decent walk from the train station (about 15-20 minutes) but once you get to know the streets you don't notice. breakfast was included with the basics.

Head over to the Walkabout Florence office and do the Cinque Terra Trek with them, they were FAB!!! They have other tours to Tuscany as well which I hear were top class. If I stayed longer I would've happily gone on the other tours they offered.

the staff at hotel river were friendly and attentive. the room was really comfortable and clean.
we found that the hotel location was far enough from the busy centre of the city to be lovely and quiet but close enough to walk comfortably everywhere we wanted to go.

Disappointing view...
Recently and tastefully refurbished

With a name like Hotel River, the hotel does what it says on the tin i.e. it's on the road running along the river,obviously it was presumptuous of me to expect to be able to see it from any place inside the Hotel as our room had no window and the public areas have no view of it either. However this aside the hotel is clean and welcoming and tastefully refurbished with modern and elegant fittings sitting comfortably alongside the antique Italian feel of the place. (Coming from South Africa their use of zebra skin and horn was interesting to see)The staff were pleasant and efficient and conversant in English and gave us the recommendation of a nearby Restaurant for supper which was one of the nicest meals on our trip.
We arrived just before the breakfast closed and what was left was tasty but sadly a lot had already been consumed - our fault.
The hotel is well positioned for sight-seeing and shopping and was good value for money.

Hotel piacevole ma stanza piccola per quel prezzo

abbiamo soggiornato solo una notte, il letto della stanza che doveva essere superior era scomodissimo, un materasso quasi inesistente. il bagno piccolo per una superior, arredamento carino, in stile. il punto di forza è sicuramente la posizione ma sconsiglio la superior risparmiate!
