Room and bedsheets were clean. There's a lockbox. It's 5 minutes to the beach on foot. Staff are kind., especially owner Deejay, pretty sociable person. Told me everything I needed. Thanks to Him. Wi-Fi a bit poor, but I've used worse.

Great stay in the Ampha Place! ”
Didier and Sarika are the best owners. Totally attentive, friendly and helpful. The hotel is 3min. from a wonderful beach. The palm wood infront gives a wonderful atmosphere. We highly recommend and want to be back! Thank you Didier and Sarika!

The location was very nice, about a 2 minute walk to the beach, and less than 5 minutes to the road & 7/11, and restaurants near maenam. Felt relaxing and secluded and surrounded by trees. The owner was very helpful and accommodating.

One night stay ”
Quite hard to write an objective review in the context of the limited pandemic reopening . In line with most establishments in Thailand , many facilities like the restaurant weren't open yet . Well located , only a few hundred yards from the beach , and a few minutes walk to the main road , where you will find shops and restaurants . Nice , well maintained , decent sized pool . The rooms are modern , comfortable , and spotlessly clean . Didier , the owner , was charming and welcoming . I just hope that business picks up for him ( and other owners ) .

Really lovely staff. Spotless. Near the beach and a really excellent and cheap restaurant just 100m away. Pool is good and so clean. WiFi was a bit slow but worked. All in all a far higher quality stay than the price suggests. Breakfast options very good too.

I wish I had longer to stay and relax here. The bed was super comfortable, the place clean and the owner friendly but not intrusive. A great place to recuperate, 2 minutes walk to the beach and not far from the Mae Nam walking street area.

Okay for short stay”
This property was fine but it’s not completely closed to the outdoors so we had several geckos scampering around our room. Besides the geckos in our room the staff and location were great.

Relaxing, beautiful, and comfortable”
We stayed 4 days at the Ampha Place Hotel. Our original plan involved renting scooters and exploring more of the island, but we actually ended up loving Mae Nam beach so much we spent our time relaxing and enjoying the sun and water. I woke up before sunrise one morning and got some great pictures when nobody was outside. The beach itself is a nice, long stretch with nice sand. Because it's a quieter beach, there are fewer people, and it's quite clean. It's lined with people outside offering Thai massages, and there is also a nice cluster of bars and restaurants with great good. The water and sand are nice. Because of the proximity of the beach, we did not swim in the pool, but it looked very clean and had others swimming in it. They also have an outdoor shower (one shower head) right there so you can rinse sand off from the beach before you go up to your room. The main road is a short walk from the hotel as well, and on Thursday we stumbled on a little night market not far from the hotel. It was about two blocks, and it didn't compare to some of the huge markets in big cities in Thailand, but the skewers, coconut ice cream, and other street food there was legit. There were also two local laundry services which were great, and there's a coin laundry (no dryers) within walking distance on the main road. The location of the hotel along with its price make it an excellent value! When it comes to food, they only have a breakfast menu, but it's offered all day. We did have one day our room wasn't cleaned, but this was due to a miscommunication with the cleaning staff. Just lost in translation. We spoke with the staff the next day, and the problem was solved! Another highlight is that we originally miscalculated our location and got stuck at an internet cafe a distance away. We called the hotel using Skype, and they sent a neighbor out to pick us up for free! The friendliness and service would make this hotel a place we would return to.

Lovely hotel, lovely staff, great location”
the hotel is located along the quieter mae nam coast, just between the main ring road & miskawaan resort. the beach is only a 1min walk away via miskawaan or the moonhut bungalows down the road to the right as you leave. it was a quiet week when i was there (only 3 room of the 12 rooms were occupied on my last night), so i had the pool to myself & the only noise was from the geckos & crickets. i was made to feel very welcome as soon as i arrived. i emailed in advance to book a taxi to pick me up from the airport (400thb/20min. my suitcase had missed my flight , so i had to stay in the first evening waiting for it to be brought from the airport. when it hadn't arrived by the scheduled time, the lovely staff member (never got her name) offered to ring the airport for me to chase it up. the room was very clean and a good size - great value for money. it had a decent-sized bathroom, balcony (with chairs/table/rack to dry clothes), tv (no need for it on this beautiful island however!), combination safe (big enough to fit a netbook), wardrobe (with coathangers), several power points (for charging phones, cameras, netbooks etc), excellent air-con & minibar (with 2 free bottles of water per day - cans of softdrink are only 25thb). the room was cleaned straight away each day once i left & the bed was very comfortable. the hotel has free wifi too which works in the rooms and by the pool - i had no issues with it the whole week. i had 2 breakfasts & a lunch in the dining area by the pool (breakfast is from 8am but thai food is only served from 11am so you need to eat european style before that). the meals were served quicky & were a good portion size - i recommend the beef panang curry. the owner ampha (pronounced without the h ie 'am-pa') is always around & likes to chat which is great. she & all her staff are lovely & i chatted to them each day about what i was up to. this is a great place, hidden away, not listed on uk hotel search engines & i thoroughly recommend it.

Very relaxing place almost on the beach”
We spent one week at Ampha Place and we recommend this hotel to people who wants to avoid crowded and noisy place like Lamai and Chaweng beaches. Rooms are clean as well as the pool which is also elegant. We enjoyed the location almost on the Mae Nam beach (you have about 300 meters to walk) and the chilling atmosphere of this place. The manager is really helpful and can give you all information you need about Samui. We would definitely go back again.

I will warmly recommend Ampha Place Hotel. I stayed for two nights waiting for my husband to join me in Koh Samui before traveling onwards. The hotel is very clean, safe and the owners ever so friendly and helpful. And the breakfast is great!!

Good value for money”
We stayed for a week at the Ampha Place and had very pleasant and relaxing time. It was very close to the beach and to the mail road. The hotel is relatively new and very well kept. The room has modern furniture, good bed and silent A/C unit. It was several English TV channels. Wi-Fi in the room was stable. The basic food service is available at the hotel, still plenty of choices at the beach or in the city. The owner, Eric, speaks many languages. He is friendly and willing to help with transportation, excursions, etc. In general, the hotel provides a good value for money
