We have stayed at the Anantara Hoi An numerous times and have brought many friends with us on our trips to Vietnam. The staff here, particularly Ms. Van at the front desk, continue to provide exceptional service. My partner left his wallet filled with credit cards and $700 USD in cash in the taxi on the way to the airport. The taxi driver brought back to the Anantara as this is where he picked us up. Ms. Van immediately emailed us. And even though it was two days before Tet, she was able to overnight it to our hotel in Ho Chi Minh City as we were departing the following morning. And she refused a tip. Wow. Exceptional and extraordinary service. Important to note also is that their rooms have recently been updated so not only are accommodations continue to be spotless, but they are brand new and comfortable. F&B staff in the restaurants and the bellmen were all friendly, professional and quite competent as well. An excellent experience all around and will highly recommend.

Wonderful gem of a hotel”
If you love the grandeur of colonial hotels, this is the place for you. Despite being builtin the last 10 years, no attention has been spared to detail and you will be taken back to staying at a "grande dame" of a hotel from the 1920s but with the modern amenities. The location is excellent, within walking distance to the markets and the old city. The pool is large and clean and relaxing, the spa treatments are wonderful, and the restaurants all serve delicious fare. Moreover, the staff go out of their way to be helpful and friendly at all times. I will be sure to stay here again, as this is a new favourite for us in Hoi An.

Peaceful get-away in beautiful Hoi An”
After backpacking through southern Vietnam for a few weeks, we arrived in Hoi An and had two nights in the Life Heritage resort to re-charge our batteries before traveling upwards towards Hanoi. Well, recharge is certainly what we did. Upon arriving, the lovely staff greeted us with drinks and although we arrived a few hours early than regular check-in, they did their very best to accommodate us and we had a room within 10 minutes. The rooms are fantastically clean, lots of space to move around in (which is a plus after hostels and sleeping buses) and the bathroom is big and beautiful with a lovely sunken bathtub and a high pressure shower. The TV has lots of channels if you want to just lie on your (mega-comfy) bed and chill out and the mini-bar is stocked with reasonably priced drinks. Breakfast is included with the room and is a huge buffet breakfast, with everything from local pho to Western fare such as pancakes, omelets, bacon, sausages etc. I would say that besides the rooms, staff and food at the hotel, the location for us was a real reason to stay at the hotel. The hotel is located at the end of one of the main streets of Hoi An, so that it is still in the old centre but at the same time, it is gloriously peaceful because it is in its own nook right by the river. You can walk to the main market and streets of Hoi An within 5 minutes, which is a lot better than a bunch of hotels/hostels some of our other friends stayed at while traveling. In short, if you are up for spending a little more money for luxury, comfort and an unforgettable experience while in Hoi An, you should be staying at the Life Heritage Resort.

Lovely serene resort”
We loved our 5 night stay at Anantara, in a Junior Garden View Suite. The tranquil atmosphere was wonderfully relaxing and the staff always went the extra mile, with a smile. We spent most days by the pool, as the weather was extremely hot, but at night we ventured into Old Town for dinner. It's a 10 minute walk to markets, shopping and restaurants. Hoi An offers some truly remarkable food! The hotel is located in a great position by the river - close to all the action, but far enough to relax and enjoy some peace and quiet. Breakfast was very nice too, overlooking the river. We ate dinner once at the resort - food was quite nice, but you can find better in town. I do however recommend the hotel's Irish bar "O'Malleys" for fantastic cocktails in air-conditioned comfort (the August heat/humidity is relentless, even at night) or you can sit outside under the lanterns. What distinguishes this resort from others is the attention to detail, even with little things, that make your stay so much more personal and enjoyable. The staff were so friendly and seemed to enjoy working there, particularly the pool bar staff. The room was very nice and had excellent air conditioning! Only negative is the temperature of the pool - it's a little bit too warm. I highly recommend this resort!

easily the best hotel in hoi an. discrete southeast asian luxury. service was attentive. room was beautiful. resort was refined and sophisticated unlike the rest of hotels in hoi an. the price in unbeatable. i paid 2.5 times after to stay at victoria hoi an under the impression that it's a better hotel. wrong. victoria hoi an was horrible. room was stale and sheets and pillows smelled. cheesy club med group. i immediately checked out and went back to life heritage. one interesting point. i accidentally caught a glimpse of an employee cleaning a room and i was amazed at how meticulous she was. she was wiping every single possible surface! closets, handles, cabinet doors, mirror frames, chair frames... everything.

we stayed 3 nights in this hotel looking to make hoi an one of the highlights of our trip in vietnam by choosing a nice looking resort type hotel. we were not disappointed when we arrived. very central, by the river, and easy to get to the beautiful beach by complimentary hotel bike. staff were not always as friendly and helpful as you'd expect in a place like this. after many very good experiences in other hotels in vietnam we found this below standard. upon check in we weren't made to feel that welcome, had to carry our own bags to the room, they walked us to the bottom of the stairs. we don't need much, but it was just odd. breakfast service is excellent, staff are very nice and attentive. the bellboys and front desk staff are lazy and made us store the bikes, didn't show us where, just pointed. strange. they check your room 3 times a day, not sure why. we just put the dnd sign on most days. prices in mini bar are extortionate compared to rest of hoi an. most other services are overpriced too. all in all loved our stay, would go back (at the right price) but some new management would make this a 10.

Fine hotel with fabulous rooms”
hoi an is a beautiful historic town and staying at the life heritage resort allowed us to fully appreciated all aspects of our holiday. the hotel staff were welcoming but the room took the biscuit. we booked a superior garden view room which was located on the first floor of a beautiful colonial building, magnificently maintained. our room was similar to a studio apartment (without the kitchen). it had its own front door with 2 day beds on the very expansive verandah; a sitting area with a lovely couch, up 3 steps to the bedroom which was beautiful. then there were double sliding doors through to the bathroom which was fitted with bamboo trimmiings. truly special. the pool was great on a hot day, trips to the beach were easy by hotel car/bus or taxi 10 minutes drive and tailoriing in hoi an was great fun. breakfast and pool side food was great.

Fantastic hotel, great staff & the best location”
Initially we were torn between choosing a beach resort or Life Heritage which is in Hoi An town but we had no regrets at all choosing this hotel. Life heritage has the best location, best service & best interior in Hoi An if I might say. We were able to cycle to town which is like right infront of the hotel using the complimentary bicycles. We had easy access to good restaurants & cafes in Hoi An as well which is a plus. If we had chosen to stay at the beach, we will have to take a shuttle bus to & fro which can be very exhausting but there is really nothing much near the beach so travelers might really have to make this trip daily so staying in town in Hoi An is the best choice for anyone looking forward to spending time in the ancient town.

Fabulous Hotel, great rooms, fab location!”
we choose 8 nights to relax at this hotel and were not disappointed. fabulous rooms as standard. lovely comfy beds, spacious accommodation and lovely daybeds on veranda. just be careful when using shower for privacy and extreme slippery! strange pool with all sides shallow leading to deep in middle. in october the sun sets through trees around 4pm with few beds in sun... but you get to find out those and sit there if you love the sun like i do! right on doorstep of charming hoi an - restaurants abound, interesting shops and of course lots of dressmaking and shoe making options! we trusted a shoe maker to make 3 pairs of shoes (1 mans, 1 ladies dance pair and pair of sandals) in 24 hours and were disappointed! so please leave a lot more time -perhaps we were unlucky but the sandals were ok nothing special, both shoes shoddy (not finished properly, infact husbands pair tore in his hands whilst trying to get on!& my dance pair were poor quality regardless of cheap price) needless to say we did not buy but it was embarrasing. check out gourmet garden resaurant - in the middle - amazing food for price with smiling staff - different menu, could have eaten there every night! restaurants on river - samey and staff quite sullen - so go further in and pay a bit extra! would thoroughly recommend life heritage especially in rainy season when you don't wont to be bothered getting expensive taxis into town every night and can shop/mooch when it rains. we had poolside room, 2nd floor and it was a bit noisy with kids etc in pool but we were so comfortable we couldn't be bothered to move. free computers, food in hotel ok but expensive as expected. lots of little touches, fruit & biscuits on arrival, umbrellas in room, complimentary water and i asked for & was given lipton teabags and fresh milk for tea - great! breakfast fab - try the fresh pancakes - banana & cocunut plus eggs to order.you will not be disppointed with this hotel and we are hard to please! enjoy
