Early December, 2022 stay”
This is my second time staying at the Areca Lodge Hotel. This visit, my room was on the 6th floor, north side of the EverGreen tower, which is the south tower on the Areca property. From the windows, and the quite large balcony, I had a great view of the pool and the middle tower, as well as the other taller condos in the area to the north of my room. A great location, the Areca's main entrance is from Soi Diana, which is convenient to all the restaurants, massage shops, and bars on Diana, Buakhao, Second road, Chaiyapoon, Lengkee, LK Metro, etc. The location of my room made for a quiet stay. when rest was needed. Just a short walk west on Diana, across Second, and shortcut through Mike Mall and you're on Beach Road. Another short walk to Central Festival Mall. It's easy to catch a baht bus to get to places too long for a walk. It's just a great location to be in. My room was awesome. AC was great, as was wifi. The bathroom had a single tub for bath or shower. The entire room was cleaned well every day. Housekeeping did a great job. The room had a safe, a half height refrigerator/freezer, a huge closet, and a large desk/work area if that's why you came. 2 bottles of good bottled water were provided free every day. The king bed slept great. The flat panel TV worked fine, with some english speaking and/or subtitled channels. Management and staff at the Areca do a great job. They have always been friendly and helpful, and they do everything you can imagine to make guests happy, safe, and comfortable. I like this hotel. After two stays now at the Areca, I'll stay here again.

A really good option among large hotels”
I am not quite sure why I had always passed this hotel when I was booking in Pattaya. I spent 8 nights there and I really enjoyed my stay. I was in Building 3 (Evergreen), which is quite a long walk from the lobby (maybe until other entries are added after work on Soy 15 has been completed). My room was large and pleasant. The only downsides were a lack of electrical outlets (it's one of those "need to unplug stuff to recharge more than one device" hotels) and the fixed shower head. The cleaning staff was of course, friendly and helpful, but then I have never had any experience otherwise in Thailand. The breakfast buffet is quite good, with many options, and the staff was constantly going through the room to refill cups with coffee or tea. The desk staff was pleasant as well, and I liked the layout (and illumination) of the lobby. One thing is worth pointing out: This is a large hotel, and it did feel a tad more impersonal than the smaller hotels (say, 1/3 the size) that I am more accustomed to. Again, I very much enjoyed my stay at Areca Lodge and would gladly return there if the occasion arises.

Excellent Trusty Standby”
Pattaya has many excellent hotels; the LK brand comes immediately to mind, but I have been going to the Areca Lodge for many year for several reasons: (1) the staff is all first rate: reception desk, buffet breakfast staff, and housekeeping too. (2) The rooms are large and comfortable, with walk-in showers, large roomsafes, and daily replacements of drinking water and coffee/tea. (3) The hotel has two large pools and an excellent workout room. Three more reasons to stay here are: location, location, location. A few dozen meters outside the door to the northeast is the entrance to soi LK Metro with its open air beer bars and nightclubs, considerably less claustrophobic than Walking Street. And beyond that is soi Buakhow with vastly more bars and restaurants. Head due east, and on your left will be a large, quieter more laid-back open-air beer-bar complex, with an arcade with several top-notch upscale restaurants. Cross Pattaya 2nd street and you can catch a baht bus to Central Festival Market. Or head down soi 12 and you'll pop out on Beach Road at the center of the beach across the road. Or catch a southbound baht bus to the scenic Pattaya Beer Garden and the entrance to Walking Street with seafood restaurant row to the right, and the discos and agogo joints dead ahead. There is one loud bar across the soi from the Areca Lodge, that blades out until 2am. For a quieter room, request one in building 2 or 3, which are further away from soi Diana and soi LK Metro. But for good rooms, good service and good location: Areca Lodge has them all, and the room rate is excellent value for all that you get.

Rescued by the Staff”
I've stayed here numerous times and it never disappoints. I get the Super Deluxe rooms which are in the Evergreen Tower. That tower's location gives it easy access to 2nd road via the Avenue shopping mall one direction and the nightlife area the other. I can't comment on other rooms but the Super Deluxe are comfortable and spacious. The breakfast has a decent variety, both Asian and Western. The staff was awesome and continued to be after I left! I left a small kit bag there and didn't miss it for three days. Today, after searching my Bangkok hotel room numerous times I realized my gaffe and called to see if it had been found. I called in the afternoon and by early evening it was in the mail and I had the Thai Post tracking number. Hard to beat that!

Exceptional”
Great location with tree town and markets just down the road. Setup in several different towers with around 215 rooms but some towers have more modern rooms. Would recommend the Corona tower. Pools are excellent with plenty of room. Hotel is very clean and staff are friendly and very helpful. Throughly enjoyed my stay and look forward to another visit of amazing Pattaya and the Areca. Thanks to all the staff they are an incredible team.

More than expected”
Pros: very well appointed hotel, close to 2nd road and a stones throw from LK metro. Still quiet in the room. 2 lovely pools which were well catered for. Breakfast is really good. Plenty of room options around pools, or otherwise. Very clean throughout. Staff very friendly and helpful. Cons: cleaners are a bit noisy, especially with 2 ways in the morning. My particular room was a bit tired, but still pretty good. Shower in bath made it a bit of a hazard. Air con unit outside is a bit noisy, but you get that. Recommend a room with card entry. Back pool room views are good. And get breakky included. Great value!

The staff were very friendly and always helpful, the Areca itself is in a perfect location for everything but also very quiet once inside, my room was a pool view and was an excellent choice,. My first stay at the Areca was really enjoyable and would definetley stay again. My only complaint was that the bath/shower towels need to be Bigger ! All in all I was most impressed. 10/10

Amazing Location”
This hotel has pretty much everything thats needed. Good breakfast for westerners. There is also a restaurant in case you dont want to head out for lunch/dinner. Fitness area and pool. If you are in need of a relaxing massage you can also get this on site. The only thing that i personally didnt like was the wireless connection. Disconnects multiple times and the given speed is ok for basic things. In the end i simply used my mobile data plan instead of the provided internet of this hotel. Would visit again.

A very nice hotel”
It was all perfect and the room is very nice. I had a room on the 6th floor overlooking the pool and the view was wonderful. A great king-sized bed with fantastic shower pressure and a cool AC set at 25. The daily breakfast is from 0630-0930 and is buffet style with eggs cooked to order. Drinks are available via the poolside and towels are provided. I will stay here again..!

Great Location and Very Clean.”
The facilities are very nice although less accessible post COVID. I think one of the 2 pools is closed and it didn't seem the fitness room was open, but that is the new norm for all hotels. The facilities are fantastic and clean. The breakfast is pretty good. It's buffet style and the selection is small with no omelet station, but the tons of crispy bacon more than makes up for this. The immediate surrounding area is currently the liveliest neighbourhood in Pattaya. Central Festa is a short walk and the beach is just beyond that.
