Not value for your money ”
Terrible hotel. The card key did not work 2 times, and I had to go to the front desk for 2 times, no shampoo nor body scrub in the bath room, very difficult shower to be waited for 3 minutes for hot water, no tissue in the room, and very poor breakfast ( not buffet, of course)called “American” with a small flied egg and 2 slices of bread and coffee. I’ll never come back here again in my whole life.

Worst hotel in Ayutthaya ”
When I walked in, I thought it was abandoned. I told staff I had a booking. Not a word said. Just presented me with form to fill in. Room was untouched since 1975. Breakfast was not edible. Coffee was like used motor oil. I usually stay at the Yamadaya nearby but they were full. Do not stay here.

Old - Unkept - Sacrifice $ left early”
Unkept hotel. 8 night stay and the breakfast requirement same every day NO CHANGE. 1 poachad egg, 2 hot dog sausage, 1 cup coffee, 1 OJ. Delapidated room, hard bed and no WiFi signal. We took the 7 night booking loss and left after 1 night. The staff was kind at greeting yet did nothing to address the conditions and asked nothing upon checkout as if this is a common occurance.

Huge nice swimming pool, also large bedroom ”
Our family stay at the Ayutthaya Grand was better than expected. The room and corridor outside it seemed modern with wood and tiled flooring. Very large comfortable bed. Good value restaurant. Large choice of buffet breakfast with several different fresh juices. Very large swimming pool which was in the sun for most of the day and open until 9pm. A tour desk from which we were able to arrange a river tour of Ayutthaya on a boat for a reasonable price. The hotel is rather far from historic sights, so you need to be willing to take taxi (tuk tuk as they are locally called) to get around. Very good value for money overall though. A very large television but no English channels on it. A fridge as well as air conditioning in the room. A bath as well as a shower. Several shops and bars are within a few minutes walk of the hotel. Also, there is a evening/night market on a Saturday night which is just a few minutes walk from the hotel with very cheap market prices on shoes, clothes and household items.

Nice big hotel”
Ayutthaya Grand Hotel is located at the entrance of Ayutthaya town.. it is not located near all the ancient temples.. I prefer to stay at this hotel because the bathroom is clean and there is no foul smell.. If you stay near the ancient temples in the ancient city of Ayutthaya, do expect the foul smell in your hotel bathroom.. The Ayutthaya Grand Hotel does not have it at all.. And it is located along the pubs and bars street.. so you can have beers and entertainment just few meters away from the hotel.. save your money on tuk tuk.. Also, i have noticed there are a lot Japanese tourists staying at this hotel.. that's a positive sign..

a cool spot outside of Bangkok”
Ayutthaya is a nice little town north of Bangkok. it is a nice escape from the madness of the big city but still retains all the comforts. the city was the former capital of thailand/siam. there are many wats/temples to see and the price of living is a bit cheaper than in bangkok. the hotel was nice, do yourself a favor when booking and spend the couple extra dollars and be sure to get the luxury suite. it was very big and had a little "living room" area with a nice couch. the breakfast was also very nice and lots to choose from. the pool is nice. it is the community pool for the area and is full of families during the evening, but is pretty empty during the week and in the day. exercise rooms are nice, equipment is a bit dated but i still got a great workout in. the a/c is not running in the gym so get in early. over all was great value and will stay again.

Good value”
I was delighted I picked this hotel. Although strangely when I arrived without a booking, looking for a room for 2 nights, they told me there was only a room available for one night, but yet I immediately booked the second night through agoda. A bad start if the staff didn’t know if their was rooms available or not but once I got over that, I really enjoyed my stay here. It’s a big hotel with a lovely big swimming pool, a fitness center and sauna. Breakfast was good, a good selection to choose from. Rooms are big, clean and comfortable. Some have balconies. Staff were friendly and helpful. Location is a little bit away from attractions but only a few minutes by taxi. I liked the location, there’s a great street food market outside the hotel, a few bars and restaurants and even a tesco! I’d certainly recommend this hotel.

Not so grand”
The Grand Ayutthaya hotel is not so grand anymore. The dimly lit reception area and worn, stained carpets and creaky elevator that greeted us as we made our way to our room did not bode well. We were however pleasantly surprised to find a welcome basket of fruit awaiting us, and a large, clean, spacious room with a very comfortable king size bed. The oversized olympic pool was a perfect way to spend a hot afternoon, though we discovered that the pool also functions as a pool for the entire city. Mothers with their children streamed in afterschool (which was a great way to meet some local residents). We were somewhat taken aback however by the large number of bars that surrounded the hotel. The amount of neon rivaled Glitter Gulch in Las Vegas. The action continued into the early hours of the morning. Fortunately we were towards the rear of the hotel so the noise of those partying in the blocks surrounding the hotel did not bother us.The breakfast buffet was adequate, offering a good variety. Though we were satisfied with our stay this time, our primary reason in visiting Ayutthaya was to visit the historical park. Next time we would choose a hotel in that area.

Value for money. Big rooms, clean , very helpful staff”
We are a couple traveling through Thailand by car. We were looking for budget hotels as we are going to be on road for 3weeks. This hotel has seen better days. It is in need of TLC. But even with all that has all the facilities that you would need for a 1night stay. Big room, with a view of the river. Museum and temple walking distance. In the evening there is street stalls with very good food. We had a lovely dinner for under £7.00 . The breakfast was like all other Thai budget hotels adequate but filling so cannot fault that. I cannot fault this hotel for comfort or cleanliness or friendliness. Ticked all my boxes

Clean but run down”
The Grand is in a good location for most activities. It is very close, about 2 minute walk to a good night market. However, the hotel and rooms are very run down. The bed was comfortable and the room was very clean. The bed sheets looked freshly laundered which is a plus. Air conditioning worked well and was reasonably quiet. We left very early the next morning so didn't have an opportunity to sample the included breakfast. The location was very quiet, very little traffic noise and our room was facing the street! If you are looking for cheap accommodation for a night or two the Grand might be worth a try. If you want some luxury, then the Grand is orobably not for you.
