I was here for 2 days & it would be better if I could make it to 3 days as Sukhothai is such a serene place and it has many beautiful sights to see, a place that is very close to nature and ancient kingdom. The hotel owner is very friendly & lovely and able to speak very fluent English. The room is clean, properly arranged and the decorations plus the treatment I received at Baan Thit, made me think that I was back to my own home, when my mum is still there to take care of me. That nostalgic feeling, serenity that is away from the city, a step closer to the nature and the door to ancient kingdom is just 20 minutes away. The hotel is very centrally located where you can hop onto the songteow and head to the Sukhothai Historical Park. The good hearted owner felt that it'd be wasteful if I didn't go to Sri Satchanalai, which is quite far away, as I only allocated half day more in Sukhothai. Though 60km away from Sukhothai city, the owner decided to bring me over to visit the sites. It was AWESOME. The breakfast prepared is very delicious. Nothing fancy but the warmth you received from the owner will be a priceless memory. A few plates of fruits, free flow of water and coffee/tea and toasted breads. Heading to the agency of the flight is just 5 minutes away, in order for you to catch a van that sends you directly to the airport. Don't forget to drop by the national fitness centre for a cheap & great massage if you have a few days time. Ask the owner more about it. You won't regret staying in Baan Thit. :)

My husband and I recently stayed at Baan Thit and have nothing but good things to say about experience. As a simple very inexpensive guest house we did not of course expect luxurious accommodations. The room was a bit small but there were 3 other rooms that were much larger than ours and more suitable for couples. They were quiet and clean. The real highlight of the place however were our hosts Ease, Ad and their son Othe (Oat) two of whom speak English very well. They all went out of their way to make our stay not only enjoyable but deeply educational as far as Thai life and culture are concerned. Since this was one of our major objectives in visiting Thailand we were delighted. Ease is a former school teacher who is highly respected in the community and seems to know everyone. This directly benefited us as we were given access to a private showing of traditional Thai dance and theater in the temple complex of Sukhothai historical park one night. The problem of returning home was resolved by Othe 's willingness to come and get us. This was one of several examples of our hosts going out of their way for us. We ended up staying a day more than originally planned. A part from the suggestive temple ruins the other highlight for us was riding the bikes that Baan Thit makes available to its guests and exploring the rice paddies that are located a close distance from the guest house. We loved this and were surprised that there was no one else exploring like we were. Since New Sukhothai is very developed, busy and not aesthetically appealing at all, it was wonderful to have an easy escape into nature (despite the heat!). The bikes at Baan Thai were superior to bikes we rented in the old city to see the temples. If you are fine with simple, clean places and are interested to get an authentic experience of a Thai family, Baan this is for you!

great guest house in sukhothai”

somehow...i stayed in 3 guest houses in sukhothai for 14 days..and i think baan thit is the best one i stayed.. the friendly lady owner is very helpful and the room i stayed has a balcony..even though view is nothing more than neighbor's house. breakfast is not special but.. it's quite good enough compared to other guesthouses....actually much better than the others..if i meet someone go to sukhothai for travel..i will definitely recommend this guest house.

Clean Rooms, Great Breakfast, Friendly Staff”

This place is great. There are only 4 rooms, 3 of which have private balconies (for you smokers). The rooms aren't huge but they are very clean and quite comfortable. Ease is the name of the woman who runs the place, along with her son who is named Oat. They are both very knowledgable about Sukhothai. They have maps and reference material available for anybody to peruse. The breakfast was laid out every day on the shared terrace and consisted of fresh (and tasty) fruit, toast and butter and jam, coffee and tea. Simple, but very filling and delicious. Guests can use the bikes for free. It's best to take a small bus to the historical park and rent a bike there, but we used the bikes to ride along the river up to Wat Tawet and then back. The location is down a small alley right off the main road so it is quiet and the restaurants and street food areas are just at the main road so everything is within a 3 minute walk. Highly recommended!

Nice guesthouse in residential lane”

This is a nice little guesthouse in a relatively quiet lane in New Sukhothai. I say relatively because there are a few dogs in the neighborhood and when one gets barking, it set off a chorus for a couple minutes. The place is nice and the owner also owns Bar6400 nearby where he makes awesome cocktails. The only complaint is have is that there is only one electrical outlet in the room and it's five feet high so you kind of have to prop up your phone on the light switch above it if you want to charge it. The bed is comfortable and best of all, they provide free bikes so that you can ride to the old city for no charge.

Owner is a nice guy, really. But he isn't married, I think it is the main reason that rooms (some of them) are dirty.

50 shades of SPIDER”

Our stay was not good. The room was FILLED with spiders. THe bathroom is half open, so insects there are understandable, but not in the room. Woke up in the night with ant like insects cralling over me. The owner was never around.

Stanze molto spartane. Non hanno le zanzariere alle finestre quindi non si possono tenere aperte per le zanzare. Il grado di pulizia, soprattutto del bagno, non è ottimale. La casa è circondata da altre case molto vicine alle finestre quindi non c'è privacy. Colazione nella norma.

旧市街に行くソンテウからとても近く、新市街スコータイでも少し歩いて川を越えれば屋台が広がります。スタッフの方もとてもよくしてくれますし、シャワーも温水問題なし。とても良い滞在でした。

家族３人で３泊利用しました。路地を少し入ったところにありましたが，メインストリートすぐはソンテウ乗り場で，遺跡やバスターミナルへのアクセスも良かったです。オーナーご夫婦はタイ語の他にも英語も大変流暢で(元英語の先生だそうです)，意思の疎通にも全く不便を感じませんでした。お部屋はけして豪華ではありませんが、すっきりと広く，よく手入れされていて清潔でした。部屋には予備のトイレットペーパーや蚊取りマットが置いてあり，いつもタイの旅行で必ず蚊に悩まされるのでうれしく思いました。朝ごはんは部屋の前のテラスで食べることができ，パンにフルーツとシンプルな内容でしたが，気兼ねせずに好きなものを取ることができ，私たちには合っていました。コーヒーなども無造作に置かれているのではなく、インスタントですが何種類かレイアウトされており、工夫を感じました。また，オーナーご夫婦のご厚意で，その日その日に差し入れをしてくださり，珍しいフルーツや朝屋台で売られていたものなどを食べることができました。息子もとてもよくなつき，何かと口実を作ってはオーナーの家（下階）に遊びに行き，１時間ほど戻ってこないことがしばしばでした。温かい人柄がわかっていたので，親も安心して行かせることができました。本当に親戚の家に遊びに来ているような感覚で過ごすことができました。旅行した時期がタイ正月（ソンクラーン）の時期だったので，パレードがあることを教えてもらい，見やすい場所まで案内してもらったり，正月休みで開いていないコインランドリーを探して連れて行ってもらったり，本当に心からもてなしたいというのが伝わってくる居心地の良い滞在でした。イベントの時期でなければ、時間があれば遺跡の案内やおすすめマッサージやさん等にもつれていってくださるとのことでした。次にスコータイに行くときにも必ず利用すると思います。

くつろげる小規模ＧＨ”

経営者一家の２階が客室（４部屋のみ）。私が滞在した３日間、他にはカナダ人男性が１人いただけで、落ち着いた環境だった。キャパシティーが小さい分、経営者一家とも他の旅行者とも自然かつ家族的な触れ合いができ、大変よろしい。経営者のおばさんにマッサージのいい店を聞いたら、近所の住民向けの公共ヘルスセンターにバイクで連れて行ってくれて、一緒にサービスを受けた。ＧＨは中心街の裏道にあり、移動するにしても、欧米人向けのレストラン、バイクを貸し出しているゲストハウスに立ち寄るにしても、コンビニに行くにしても、コインランドリーに行くにしても、便利。設備や朝食（パンと果物）は料金相応。３匹の飼い猫が可愛い。
