Find hotels near Bang Bao Bay in Koh Chang, Thailand

This is one of my favorite resorts on Ko Chang; I've traveled there several times over the years both solo, with friends and with family. Usually I get around by motorbike (and you really have to be comfortable on a motorbike to use one on Chang due to the steep turns), and that makes this resort's location a plus for me. It's so quiet there and I loved how the sea splashes up on both sides of the resort, which is located on the narrowest part of a peninsula that forms one side of Bang Bao Bay. I especially enjoyed the west-facing side for sunsets and I even discovered some hiking trails on the headland that goes up behind the resort. The resort itself is just beautiful, a work of art I would say. The pool is excellent and the receptionist strikes a balance of being laid back yet professional and always approachable. They were doing some maintenance but even with that going on at some points during the day, the atmosphere was serene and ideal for relaxation.

One of the owners (Sean I believe is his name) speaks perfect English and is very knowledgeable on the area. He is very willing to help you book extra activities (such as elephant rides and snorkeling excursions) and was available by phone every time I tried calling. The room we booked was a fan room and was right near the water. Although it was a little more than the basic huts, it was definitely worth it. There were some ants in the room but neither of us minded that too much. It may be hard to find the hotel, but if you have any problems just give Sean a call. Food is on the pricier side (compared to meals at some Thai restaurants in Bang Bao).

although we had difficulties finding resolution resort (locals didn't have a clue) we were pleasantly surprised after finding this oasis of solitude. the accommodation was clean, comfortable and nicely finished. the management were enthusiastic to help and keen to keep improving the resort. waking up well rested in an air-conditioned environment and opening your curtains to the sea lapping just a few metres away, with an inviting swimming pool in a well-kept garden was fantastic! wireless internet connection was also good. as the couple running the resort are keen to improve things, i will mention the following: * hooks or something in the bathroom to keep towels * please provide printed menus (i'm sure this is on your list already!) * better signs or advertising within bang bao bay * maybe offer a ferry terminal collection service to booked guests for a fee * as you have such good tvs in the rooms, maybe include some european channels rather than only having 200+ thai channels. all food dishes served were delicious, including the substantial complimentary breakfast. i would highly recommend resolution resort to couples or small families wanting to get away from it all. bang bao is not a long walk away, but you could spend a few days simply unwinding in paradise!

We finally stayed 2 nights in the Thai Villa Seaview room at this nice and relaxing place close to Bang Bao Bay. The location is quit, clean and the staff extremely friendly. They bring you everywhere around Bang Bao Bay (e.g. Pier of Bang Bao, Beach etc.) because this Place is hard to reach by car due to bad road condition. Food is okay and the rooms clean. + Boat service + Pool and Seaview + Food quality (Breakfast/ Dinner) + Staff member - accessabilty by car - Beds are a bit to hard

This is one of my all-time favorites. One other in Hua Hin was also a guesthouse built on top of a fishing pier. There is nothing quite like these places, and if you’ve never stayed in one, you should. While the Bang Bao is a very busy, crowded and noisy place to be (especially for otherwise quiet and sleepy Koh Chang), there is a sublime beauty, and in the evening, when the crowds disappear, you will have a chance to experience it for yourself. Ocean Blue is located near the very end of Bang Bao Pier, close to the boats, so you have incredible views. The young Thai couple that own and manage this hotel are super friendly and sweet. It is obvious they are busy renovating, slowly making improvements to an otherwise very old and creaky structure. All of this adds to the charm, and I would certainly stay here again. My only complaint, other than the less than perfect noise nearby, is that they did not provide any water or body lotion. At $25-30 per night, that would seem essential. I did have air conditioning, however, and a VERY FIRM mattress, which I like. There is a manual flush toilet, but the hot water is actually hot - for great showering. Thank you, so much, Ocean Blue!

Great for anyone travelling on a budget. We extended our stay here at a cost of 500baht/night which we thought was more then reasonable. Situated in a quiet area of the island, the rooms are very basic but clean and comfortable. Mosquito net, fan and warm shower. Make sure you use repellent in the evenings as the mosquitos did seem to be worse here then other parts of Koh Chang. There was a very good cheap local restaurant around the corner or if you want to splurge out on sea food then head for the pier. Motor bikes are available for hire from 150baht from the hair salon on the right hand side as you drive into Bang Bao. We enjoyed are stay here more then anywhere else on the island, although you would have to use taxis or get a motorbike if you want to go the beach.
