Bang Por hotels & places to stay

The hotel is located in a very quiet part of Samui with not too many good restaurants nearby. We came here for relaxation and that's exactly what we got. The beach isn't the best that Samui offers, but it was quiet and nice enough. Lipa Noi and Taling Ngam beaches(15-20 mins drive away) are a must see.The pools are gorgeous and the staff were attentive and friendly. Complimentary shuttle to Chaweng was a nice touch. We'll come again.

This is hands down, without question, the best 5 star resort we've had the pleasure to stay in. We spent 5 nights at Mai Samui over the 2014 New Year period and although the resort was fully booked it never felt busy, the staff handled everything with a smile and a calm attitude, the rooms and grounds were generous and cleaned meticulously each day, the food and beverages were far above average for Thailand (especially the breakfasts), the spa treatment we received was sublime, the surroundings and the decor was stunning. Would visit again without hesitation. Our only complaint was a faucet that fell off and that was fixed within a few hours of us notifying staff.

You can look at a hundred pictures of Blue View but nothing will ever prepare you for the experience of seeing it for the first time. This villa is something completely special and the full experience is enhanced by the wonderful Sugar her family and staff. It is impossible to find fault with this villa it is beautiful and so well looked after. The vista of the infinity pool and the outdoor space is one to be remembered. The outdoor entertaining was great fun with the Bose music system. Sugar arranged for the chef to Cook us lunch and the resulting banquet was memorable. I can honestly say that we enjoyed every aspect of Blue View but the best part was Sugar and family they are wonderful hosts and some of the nicest people you could ever hope to meet, they really looked after us well and went out of their way to make our time with them memorable. I would say you do need a 4x4 car with this villa as to get the amazing views the villa is high up a steep hill.

Great resort, would highly recommend. Facilities are great. View is awesome, the hotel in next to the beach. We liked are room, we have a double jacuzzi . Breakfast is great, buffet style. If the hotel is not busy they offer to cook you anything off their extensive menu. The staff can't do enough for you and very happy to help with any assistance, they booked 2 trips for us and put the price on the tab, at no extra cost to booking it ourselves. They offer a taxi service twice a day to Chaweng and stops along the way at no cost, but find your own way back. They motorcycle hire at 250 Baht for 24 hours. Free cycles if your want to use them. The hotel is in a quiet place, but is only 10 minute walk to nearest 7-11 and 4/5 other restaurants. If we go to Samui in the future we will be looking at staying here again!!

We stayed this hotel in August after visiting the nearby islands. I would recommend this hotel to anyone, especially if you would like to unwind and relax. The room is very modern and quite spacey. The view was beyond beautiful, especially at night when you can see all the stars in the sky while chilling in the pool. When booking this hotel, one thing I did worry about was the location of the hotel since it is so uphill. The staff tries their best to make you comfortable giving rides from the reception right to your doorstep and offers free rides down the hill. Their service, the view and the tranquility more than made up for the location. Simply put, this was the best hotel I stayed at in Thailand. I enjoyed it so much that I have booked another stay next year and am going to Koh Samui just to stay here!

This cute little resort is again a true pearl! The atmosphere is perhaps the friendliest and most relaxed in Bang Por, accompanied by a stunning beach, great food and a huge portion of relaxing elements. The rooms are clean, spacey and comfortable, the staff is amazing: serviceminded and smiling all day through. Don't miss to treat yourself with the best massage I've had throughout the journey and make sure you try the coconutshake and the banana pancake!

The villa we stayed in here was great, I really can’t fault it! Lovely pool and the cinema was amazing. The villas are beautiful, clean and very modern with everything you would need. We came in off season and got a really good price. It was quiet during our stay which we expected but was easy to get a taxi into Bophut. Certainly it’s located in the quieter part of the island but is still near many restaurants. Getting a food shopping was a bit tricky as the only store nearby was a 7/11, so having a self catering villa a 30min trip into Chaweng is needed. Also no restaurant on site. My only bug bear is that a 10,000 bhat deposit was required for 2, which is fine but we wish that we had known this before hand through our booking site or a message from estate. We had a lovely trip and We would 100% return!! Definitely recommend these beautiful villas. And thank you so much to the lovely, attentive staff!

Hard to fault because everything was perfect. The staff are amazingly friendly and available. Due to low season I was the only person in the resort to begin so no reception and the caretaker showed his house if I need anything. Even leant a DVD player from his own house!!!! Only tiny fault local beach dirty but easy to drive to nearby beautiful beach and enjoy luxury of resort there. No hair dryer....lol Thankyou for a stay that made my holiday so beautiful!!!!

The location is a bit far (~15km) from shopping center area Central Festival, the closest 7-11 is about 15-20min by walking but it's more natural rather than our first stay Sheraton. The sand is rough, the sea is not so clear, but you can find more shells and little crabs, you can run on the beach without interruption by many people. The villa is so clean and great, there's kitchen and wash machine, the private swimming pool is great for children to enjoy at anytime. The public swimming pool is very clean and not crowded. There's no gym and restaurant in the hotel but there's a neighbor restaurant that we didn't taste, we had enjoyed another one in 10 min by walking on beach, the name is "Love is in the sea", we had tried different dishes during the dinners in all 4 days, those were all great! The staff is quite nice. They have in villa massage services at quite reasonable cost, we have really enjoyed Thai massages and Oil massage. Operation Manager Sue is a very nice lady, she is very flexible and you can trust her for helping you if needed.

the panalee resort is a real treat in bang por. we had a delightful ten day stay lounging by either one of the two pools -- both of which are adequately sized, clean and well designed, indulging in the many affordable dining options of the area or walking along the beach. our only concern, initially was the internet. at first we were placed beside one of the pools on the far side of the resort and we didn't pick up an internet signal so we found ourselves checking emails and using skype in the lobby, where the signal strength was good. to our delight, the always friendly and proprietorial resort manager approached us and offered a free upgrade to one of the bungalows beside the lobby where we could use the internet in our room. of course we accepted and we found ourselves in a much larger two room bungalow. the staff continued to be friendly and provided five star service. the resort offers scooters for rent and helpful maps and advice.

We stayed 4 nights but liked it so much that we extented 3 extra nights. We were in Thailand 6 weeks, and overall this was our best stay. The place is located direct at the beach. The people are very friendly. The place is just outside the crowded places. You might need bikes to get to the crowded places, but we discovered that you will need that almost everywhere in Thailand as this is the most common way to move from a to b. There is a nice swimmingpool and a bar. We did not have breakfast but we visit the restaurant twice whilst enjoying the beach and the restaurant had good pizzas. The room was clean. Wifi had good connection. Overall we would stay here again when we visit Koh Samui.

As a family of 7 we booked 4 double bungalows, we travelled around Thailand for 15 days and this was our last stop, well we defiantly saved the best till last. Great value for money, no ants as in other places as the bungalows were spotless, air conditioning and hot powerful showers, across the road from a beautiful beach with a Jacuzzi pool on site, New owners were the most helpful French couple you could ever ask for. In short if you want a nice clean tidy and well looked after bungalows to stay not to far from everything dont look any further. Thanks for a great stay

booked for a nice quiet stay and it was perfect for that. our plane arrived early so a quick call to the hotel and they sent a transfer bus for us. airport transfer was nice and quick. room was very nice with tea and coffee facilites. we ate breakfast at the hotel every day (which was good and healthy) but did not try the evening meal as ate with friends. did not try the spa as we were too busy but seemed to be good value as well.

When I got to the property I had come off a flight that my bags did not make it but would be in later. The owners were so accommodating and she even brought me a few dresses to borrow until my luggage arrived. I was departing to Koh Pahnang the next morning and they had made a point to help me figure out where I needed to go and even take me there the next day. Additionally the rooms were clean and lovely. The environment quiet and serene. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a quiet retreat.

We had a bit of an awkward check-in as it is a family-run business with no reception desk, but other than that everything was great. The bungalow was spacious and it was very nice to have a kitchen and fridge. This part of Samui (Bang Por) is quiet and away from the party scene of Chawang. Don't stay here if you are looking for clubs and bars to party until the wee hours. There are fantastic seafood restaurants along the beach. The breakfast here is substantial with lots to choose from. The grounds are well-kept and lovely gardens with flowers. We enjoyed spending evenings on the porch, and hanging out on the beach just a few meters from our bungalow. We stayed a week and wanted to stay longer but they were booked. If we return to Samui we will surely stay here again. Staff/owner is very nice and makes you feel right at home.

really lovely rooms for the price - clean and well equipped. Bang por is a very nice area on the northern road away from the bustle and crowds - lots of nice waterfront bars and restaurants , Fairyland is ideally placed and great value - ill be staying again here for sure and would highly recommend if your on a budget but want a nice room with new AC and fridge etc the staff were very helpful too

our 3 nights stay in code for our honeymoon was simply splendid. wee was already waiting to pick us & another australian couple up when we arrived at samui airport (as we've already arranged for an airport transfer upon booking confirmation). it took about 25 minutes to reach code in bang por. joe greeted us cordially upon our arrival at the hotel. the check-in was hassle-free. joe showed us around before he took us to our exquisite sea-view apartment. it was tastefully decorated mainly in white. the apartment was spacious enough for the two of us, complete with a kitchenette. the toiletries provided had a lovely lemongrass smell. we had no trouble sleeping at night as the bed was really comfortable. there were not so many guests around throughout our stay so we literally had the pool to ourselves. we rented a scooter from the hotel to go around the island during our stay. were kind enough to guide us (using a map) anywhere we would like to go. the view from our apartment during sunset was absolutely phenomenal. we would definitely come back to code for our next trip to koh samui. million thanks to code for making our vacation a memorable one. thanks everyone in code!!!

it's a bit hard to find and when we first arrived we were a bit worried about what the room was going to look like as there is no reception, its just where the owners live. there was also a mix up with our booking but they did sort it. when we got to our room we were pleasantly surprised, they're clean, spacious and have a porch to sit on. the bathroom was clean and there was warm water. the pool is small but very clean and the resturant is very cheap. i think the price for this hotel is well worth it and we'd stay here again.

The first night was very noisy, we could not sleep all night because the highway is right beside the bungalow. Three different parties going on at the same time made it also difficult to sleep. We ordered beach front for two nights but the first night not available. The second night was better as we were on the beach but could still hear traffic. This location was not a good location if you want to swim. Not a lot of things to do around the hotel. You needed to rent a motorbike to get around. Which was a lot of fun as traffic was not too crazy. Staff was very nice, hotel cheap, but they made up for the cheap accommodation with high food price. Thai food at this location was a 3 out of 10. Would not return or recommend to my friends.

Wonderful stay, the title and pictures are accurate. Beautiful view, villa was extremely clean and all amenities worked great. There is a paper with information on the table inside the kitchen area of the villa with a number to add on WhatsApp for any help with your stay that you might need. The lady working this number was extremely helpful in all aspects and took the extra step to make sure our stay was as smooth and comfortable as possible. She made the calls necessary for motorbike delicery, taxi’s, and ferry’s. She was awesome. Thank you. Side note: Booked through agoda and quickly realized it is not their main platform for booking. Had a difficult time finding the place and upon messaging the owner through agoda, there was no reply at all. Once we found the place and saw the information card on the table and got into contact with the previously mentioned woman, everything was smooth sailing.
