"This is a relatively new resort situated in the heart of Bo Phut beach. The place offers all you can ask for: quietness, clean sea, modern design, walkable to the Fisherman night market, and facing-the-sea swimming pool. I'd go back again if I went back to Koh Samui one day. "

"The resort is separated into 2 lots. Bo phut beach runs on one side which is suitable for those who like calm quiet time. Our rooms were on the other side of the street where there's a bigger pool. The rooms have compact divisions for a table, dresser and a small fridge. It's pretty basic which is all you need for a short stay. The staff are very helpful too! "

"I'll gladly second all the positive reviews that had led me to book our 4 night stay at the Lanna Samui resort. Great for a relaxing family stay, especially if you are not looking to stay right on the beach and party, whilst it still has easy access to the Bo Phut beach, with its shopping areas/ restaurants. In fact, a plus point for me was that it was also a quick trip to Chaweng through the inner roads, as long as you had a map. The resort has helpful and friendly staff. Reception was open all day, so we had no trouble with the late check-in, extension of our booking, or the odd request or query. The suites we booked were great, very comfortable and clean, and well-equipped for a 4-star hotel. My only gripe - the shower area is not fully enclosed and its impossible not to wet the surrounding floor while using the shower. The house-keeping staff really respected the "Please do not disturb" and "Please make up my room" tabs on the door at all times, and was nice enough to come back and do our rooms unobtrusively and promptly as requested. Breakfast was complimentary, with a decent spread, and a nice a-la-carte menu. The room service menu had variety, and the food we ordered (on two occasions) was delicious. The only trouble we'd had was in locating the hotel when we arrived late at night, because of the poor condition of the main road from the beach, which was under maintenance in the off-peak season. The hotel had put up signage, but this wasn't easy to spot as the streets were far from well-lit; GPS saved the day. This doesn't take away from the hotel, except that it is not located on the beach or directly on one of the main roads of the island. The hotel even offered us a complimentary Thai massage at the spa due to the poor condition of the roads. =) They had set up a temporary spa, as their main spa premises were under renovation for the week. We certainly appreciated the much-needed, expertly-delivered message after our touristy sojourns in Samui."

"We arrived in Koh Samui in a tropical storm. We were tired and wet and the minute we walked into this hotel nothing else mattered. Rooms are amazing, staff managed to check us in early and was so good to us throughout our stay. The bar was cheap the pool was also fantastic and could use it 24hrs a day. Quiet area but that’s just what we were looking for. When it was time for us to leave they arranged taxi service for us and took out all the hard work so we could just relax Would come again and recommend to everyone. 5 star hotel :) "

"Switched our stay to the Ibis at last minute after a disappointing experience elsewhere. My young daughter (6 yrs old) likes the Ibis because of the several pools and step down to the beach. We've stayed here before. Rooms are comfortable, check-in is swift, free WIFI, great location near Bo Phut Fisherman's Village. Staff are helpful, and the grounds are well maintained. Only negative is the hotel's breakfast which is a buffet, cold and hot food and cereal, and fruit - not much of a selection of fruit. Also breakfast isn't included in your room rate, which means paying extra, and in this case isn't what I call value for money. There are several local Thai establishments serving up Thai/ Western food though which we made use of the rest of our trip. I would definitely stay at the Ibis again. "

"We have spent 2 weeks in this hotel in Bo Phut and we are very thankful for this beautiful stay in Koh Samui. At the arrival the staff welcomed us with some fresh towels, a drink and some flower bracelets. Also we have really appreciated the support of the staff during our holidays. After the first night, we asked the desk team to find a solution because our room was located at the first floor, in a corridor where the noise of the air-conditioning was disturbing and therefore it was difficult for us to sleep in this room. The staff was really professional and immediately moved us to another room which was located in the other side and more quiet. The room was excellent. It was cleaned on a daily basis, even when we left the room after 2pm. The hotel has 2 fantastic pools, 1 in front of the rooms and another 1 in front of the beach. The whole team of the desk, the cleaning and the breakfast are the most professional, friendly and kind people ever. Thank you a lot !! "

"This was my favourite hotel in our whole trip. The Mantra opened only in November 2011, so it was still very new. The staff were amazing. Everytime we arrived back to the hotel, we were greeted with smiles and questions about our day. We were then golf carted back to our room (as the hotel is situated on a hill). The room's are beautiful, each room has a view of the pool, which overlooks the ocean - you can see the island of Koh Penang from your room! Breathtaking. The restaurant and bar service was great. A little on the expensive side compared to other resorts, but well worth it as the service was so good. The Mantra is located in Bo Phut, which is on the other side of Samui, about 20mins away from the main shopping/nightlife strip in Chaweng. The hotel supplied a bus service into Chaweng everyday free of charge. You could also get a taxi for fairly cheap. If you make the effort, the staff will return it ten fold. Any questions, concerns etc were answered without a care. I could live at this hotel!"

"We were very pleased with our bungalow which was well maintained, clean, spacious and quite secluded by the lovely garden shrubbery. The only problem was the efficient but rather noisy air conditioning and I did need to report a roof leak in the bathroom during a downpour! The pool was lovely, with plenty of sunbeds. Crossing the road to the restaurant was not a problem and it was pleasant to enjoy the view whilst having breakfast. The menu remained unchanged every day but there was still a reasonable selection. The restaurant evening menu was pretty much the same as every other restaurant in Bo Phut (and the rest of Samui!) which suggests that they are all buying from the same suppliers but it was reasonably priced. My only concern was the lack og interest and slow service. I agreed to meet my husband at their beach area after his swim. I waited ten minutes before my drink arrived and when he met me we aited a further ten minutes and not one member of staff approached to ask what he would like so we gave up and went elsewhere! Reception and room staff were very helpful. Overall this is a very pleasant resort, reasonably priced and in a good position between the main street of Fishermans Village and the new Wharf complex."
