1 great place to explore”
Chau Doc homestay is a great place for you to relax and explore when coming to Chau Doc City, located in a quiet area, not far from the center of Chau Doc City, suitable for the whole family, traveling alone or in pairs. In addition, because it is a homestay, it certainly cannot be as comfortable as star accommodation but worth 10 points for the service provided, if you do not like to explore Chau Doc City, you can rest at a homestay. Ms. Diem will provide you with a full meal a day - local foods, you can ask the hostess Diem for everything you need when you come to Chau Doc. I greatly appreciate Ms. Diem's enthusiasm to support my family in regard to transport to the bus station on time. I love her and her homestay. Highly recommend it for your stay here.

Great Homestay for getting close to the village lifestyle ”
For starters, you really have to know what your are getting when it comes to this homestay. This is a home stay that lets you live among the locals, and have the bare basics. Clean bed. Shower. Friendly locals. That's it. In that respect, the home stay has fully delivered. Most photographs only show the traditional home of the hosts, but that's not where we stayed. There is a newer building next to the family home where all guests stay. The host family don't speak a word of English, but gestures and translation app on my phone did the trick most times. They are extremely friendly, but shy. The tour agent at Mekong tours did everything to make sure we are settled in and also brought us to visit the nearby farms and plantations. If you want a proper hotel, book something else. But for a different experience, I can wholeheartedly recommend this Homestay.

Great homestay experience”
First of all, remember that this is a homestay, not a hotel. As such, amenities were noticeable only by their absence, the rooster and his friends started crowing at 3.00 am, the toilet is across the open courtyard, etc. But the woman was fantastic and the dinner was delicious. One recommendation: don't try to find this on your own or with a motorcycle taxi. This homestay is organized by Mekong Tours, in the center of the town and very easy to find. So go there and they will take care of everything.

Not nice”
1. The dustbin was full. Nobody had changed it before i came.. 2. The pillow were not clean, i guess.nobody had changed it before i came.. 3. The house is hiden and you cannot find it by yourself (even the second day, i get lost) 4. Actually you have to go to the agency, on the tanh name 2 hostel, and then they drive you for free at the homestay. But as i did not know, i asked à moto taxi, which did not know where was the homestay either because the adress is not proper.. Well.. 5. The breakfast is so early that you cannot sleep as much as you want (7am, no choice), it is very simple, the first day it was in the area, a pho, ok, the second day it was in the tanh nam 2 hostel, a piece of bread and an egg.. Not the "local breakfast" that i paid for. 6. 10$ is much more expensive than the hostel you can find in the city, there are plenty of cheap onces in town, you dont need to book it here in advance.. Dont be worried. 7. They do not speak english and the family do.nothing with you do it is not a homestay but like an hostel. Well, dont go there !

great family home stay”
Thanks to the family for their warm hospitality, the area is very calm, on a small village street south west of chau doc. I had a bike and could explore the region (tra su bird sanctuary !)

Good homestay, nice people, just a little far”
Great, quiet place to stay, with a nice Vietnamese family. The only down side was that it's about a 10 min motorbike ride from the city. As it is a remote location, you can't just walk to the street and flash down a moto driver. To make it more complicated the family speaks very little (no) English. They have some arrangement with a local travel and tour company to arrange rides, communicate with the guests, and make sure they are comfortable. So to get into town you have too arrange a driver to come get you through the them either in advance our if you have a phone you can call them. Out actually worked out that they work with the travel company as I was able to book several tours and my onward travel plans through them and they are very nice and helpful. One of the travel agents even walked me to the local phone shop to help me get set up with a SIM card. Very nice. Again, the distance isn't a huge deal and everything went just fine with me, but I think anyone who plans to stay here should know up front what they are getting into.

It's an Adventure”
We didn't know what to expect when we booked this. Contact them to get transport to the place, since it is around 10km away from the city center. We were welcomed by a friendly family in their home. The next morning, we got a nice traditional breakfast, and a tour around the rural area including the rice fields, mango orchard, fish farm, etc. Room was clean and simple. Do not expect a hotel stay. The location on the map is WRONG! Do not try to go there on your own (as we did), use the contact number on the booking, or go to the "Thang Nam 2" Hotel in Chau Doc.

Great stay, too short”
Amazing place. I'm sorry we only stayed one night. The location, as for most homestays, is a little out of the way, but easily accessible by motorcycle taxi. The proprietor is a Buddhist vegan, but don't let this worry you. We had a delicious vegan dinner, and it was no sacrifice. The rooms are nice but basic. There is a separately located shower, but no hot water (this isn't a big problem--the water is always luke warm). We went for a tour of the mango orchard and farm nearby. The small town also has a few restaurants (local places, very basic but very good), and a pool hall with good beer and friendly people.
