One of the best hotels near Taj Mahal to put up for a short quick Taj Mahal Agra trip Approach: Taj Ganj Area is home to the most famous hotels in Agra. The place is perfect owing to its close proximity to both Taj Mahal and Taj express way. Check in: Checking in is smooth, quick and fast. The bell boys will quickly scan your luggage, the wallet will see you off and before you know you will already be checked in. The staff at the Check in desk was extremely courteous nice and well behaved. We were greeted in a royal fashion on entry to the hotel with garlands and tikka and welcome drinks. Couple of special staff mentions Ujjwal at Reception and Aditya our luggage handler Room: Delux superior , room was nice cosy and well furnished. Only bummer was it was too far away from the lift and we had mentioned that we are with a 6 month kid but these guys were out of rooms so we had to make do. Extra Amenities The hotel has a descent gift shop in the arcade area a good hit with the foreigners but a little extra pricy for my taste. Place also has a kids room for your young ones where there are lots of fun activities for the kid to do and feel super engaged. The place comes with not one but two swimming pools, the one on the lower level is a far whiter and relaxing experience and the other one is my personal favourite the Infini pool on rooftop from where you can actually see the top of Taj Mahal. Looks gorgeous during the night. The infini pool also has a bar around to hang out and chill. Seemed to be a good hit among the hotel guests. Hotel also boasted of a well mamged spa and fitness Center For the fine dinning experience The in house Dawat-e-Nawaab restaurant had the most intricate mughal styled delicacies to savour your pallets. Do try the khaas Thali if you want to treat yourself. The food is accompanied by folk themed live music played at the restaurant itself Fear not sports fan the place also sports a cool bar to sink in a few before calling it a night. L

A stunning hotel to arrive to in India. The lobby entrance is so grand and gives an amazing vibe for your stay in Agra. We arrived at 4am in the morning. It’s such a shame that staff were incredible and painfully slow to check in, get our luggage to our room and an extra bed. The breakfast was one of the best we’ve had in India. Umar was so attentive to checking on us. We had dinner in the restaurant. It’s beautiful Indian food. Would have been lovely if they suggested the family naan for our party of 9. It would have made our dinner. The grounds are phenomenal. A shame the pool is a bit dated. Great if you are in a suite room as you have another pool to swim in. We organised some crossiants for our early Taj Mahal tour and it was there waiting for us at 530am. Would stay at ITC hotels again

The Atulyaa Taj is located a 5 minute walk away from the Shilpa Gram booking office and a 15 minute walk from the Eastern gate entry to the Taj Mahal. The hotel is clean and basic (probably more akin to a 3 star than a 4, however given the price of hotels in Agra, this one does provide good value for money. The Fort, bus stand, and basically every thing aside from the Taj Mahal are located on the other side of the Taj to this hotel, however given that a driver or Auto is needed to visited these in any case, this wasn't a huge problem. Staff were extremely helpful - every offering to use their personal credit card to book bus tickets when our foreign cards did not work on the line portal.

Nice and comfortable room. We did pay extra fee for early check-in. I like welcome cookies. Tasty and lovely. Breakfast is good. overall recommend for good hotel in Agra. However, I booked via Agoda.com and pay at hotel but I got flake charge from this hotel and need to reject payment and cancel my credit before checking in date. Need to improve on credit card security for guests more closely.

This hotel under the leadership of Mr Lokesh Kumar Upadhya provided my wife and me with every imaginable comfort and courtesy during our 3 day stay there while visiting the TAJ Mahal .. A very clean hotel with quality food and attentive staff who goes the extra mile for you . We would like to thank Rahul amongst the restaurant staff and Prithi , of the guest services was excellent. Mr Sumant, Ragudev , The chef ( whose name I have forgotten) were also fabulous Last but not the least , the general manager was out of this world and made sure every one of his staff were on their toes , in providing the best stay for all the hotel guests .. I will take a bet that with Mr Upadhya ‘s leadership , the Ramada Plaza will become the best hotel in North India and we wish him the very best for this A fantabulous stay we had at the Ramada Plaza , Agra

This hotel chain is really good. I stayed in their Firozabad property too and there the facilities were almost comparable to any 4 start hotel in India. Based on that experience I booked this hotel in Agra. There was little disappointment since Agra Hotel is not comparable with Firozabad one but overall it was a good choice. Location is amazing. Food is awesome. Only room size is the concern area. Its very tiny suitable for only single person.

Was pleasantly surprised on reaching the hotel in Agra, being a frequent international traveler have stayed in all kinds of accommodation across the globe, and would say this comes very close to my experience abroad. Rooms are spacious, clean, courteous staff. the restaurant is decent enough and provide good options for families travelling with kids, Would definitely recommend this property to others.

Courtyard by Marriott Agra is a great place to stay for your adventure into the historical past of Kings and Mughals in Agra. The hotel's staff were helpful and pleasant. The location was so close to the Taj. Taxi and guide were easily arranged by staff. Only complaint I have was that there was no guide included in the price for the Agra Fort. I would not have minded but it wasn't made clear at the outset and caused some difficulty for us along the way. Just be clear guys ;). The pool, puppets, magic and play room made it so much fun for the kids when they had downtime. We would definitely go back and highly recommend you enjoy your stay there at the Courtyard by Marriott Agra. Note: I gave a four on facilities because I have been in Marriotts with significantly nicer Gym and associated amenities. We still loved it!

Good option for a nice hotel at a reasonable rate in Agra. The rooms was great -- super comfy bed, best water pressure shower I've had in India, and most excellent staff. I booked the package with the breakfast included which was worth it. The gem is there's a tiny swimming pool on the roof deck which is great respite from the Agra heat. It's not far from the Taj but there's not located in a walkable area as far as restaurants or shops. Would definitely recommend.

My husband and I arrived in Agra after a very delayed train trip. We had booked another train out the following morning and were sure we were going to miss seeing the Taj Mahal. The owner at this hotel was so lovely. He made sure to help us change our trip around and hire a car so that we wouldn’t miss seeing some amazing sites. We cannot thank him enough for saving that part of our trip! The hotel itself was impressive and so much better than the photos. It was the best location we could ask for. Highly recommend!!

By far the best hotel we have stayed in on our trip! The hotel were really helpful they let us check in 5 hours early after arriving on the train and gave us their best room with a view of the Taj Mahal. We will defiantly stay here again if we return to Agra. A tip if you do stay here ask for tuk tuk driver RJay he lives across the road, great value for money and teaches you a lot about scams and the best places to go (we hired him for the full three days we were in Agra)

The location of the hotel is good, staff were very polite and helpful, hotel was clean, was very cold in Agra, were provided with a fan heater which was very helpful. no problems with hot water. my only issue was there was a disco/party till late night on one of the nights i stayed with very loud music which resulted in us being woken up and we could not go to sleep till after midnight when the music stopped. i did go to the reception to request if the sound could be lowered, it seemed beyond their control. I would recommend those people wanting to stay to ask beforehand if any such parties are planned in the days they want to stay, otherwise be prepared for a night of disturbance in sleep.

We chose hotel based on its location and reviews by other travellers. We were positively suprised by service and cleanliness in this basic hotel. Location was just few hundred meters (walking distance) from Taj Mahal. Do not regret our choice any second as we initially planned to stay in one of the expensive hotels in Agra. The hotel due to its location made the stay very efficient.

I stayed here for one night and my stay here turned out to be absolutely amazing.The managers were so helpful; he booked a cab for me and suggested me some offbeat places to visit in Agra, even helped me book a train ticket besides this the free breakfast is really scrumptious! And I loved the art work and the common area. I would definitely recommend this place for anybody who is looking for an affordable and comfortable stay in Agra.

The two taxis we took there didn't know how to find the place, but once there it was great. A short walk to the Taj Mahal. A restaurant with a very attentive fellow serving breakfast. Clean room, hot water, pleasant stay. They booked us a taxi back to Delhi, and we paid through the hotel, which cost a bit more than it would have through Ola, and then the taxi driver stopped somewhere for half an hour on the way to eat lunch, which was annoying, but less annoying than the Ola driver that took us to Agra, who kept trying to cheat us by charging us more and more things. Good hotel, don't use their taxi recommendations.

Location was the best, a stone throw from the Taj Mahal. The grounds are beautiful and the place has a restaurant where you can eat outside or inside. The food is good. The room was clean and comfortable, bathroom looked a bit tired but you can't expect much more to be honest. The staff are super friendly and will accomodate you whenever they can. Overall, this hotel is a bargain for its location alone and has pleasant grounds to escape the busy and annoying streets of Agra.

We never normally leave reviews but we felt compelled to leave one for Bansi as our stay was so fantastic! Ultimately the hospitality is what makes this place so special - we were made to feel extremely welcome at all times and Mr Burman and his team went above and beyond in their hospitality. The home cooked food was fantastic each morning and we also had dinner one night which was delicious and there is always more...if you can eat it! The room was large, very clean and the bed extremely comfortable. The bathroom was also a good size with a decent shower. Any advice on local attractions and transportation we needed was given in bucket loads and we were advised on what was a fair price to pay. The atmosphere at Bansi is very homely and we enjoyed a number of conversations with Mr Burman and his colleagues. The location of the homestay is down a quiet street off the main road so it is peaceful during night and day but it is in an ideal place as the attractions in Agra are quite spaced out making it difficult to walk between them; Bansi is very central meaning nothing is too far away. We can't recommend this place enough - it made our stay in Agra memorable and that little bit more special! If it's within your budget...stay here!

The Taj Plaza is perfectly located near the Taj Mahal, only a few hundred meters south of the Eastern gate. The hotel’s biggest asset is its spectacular views of Agra’s most famous site from both the rooftop restaurant and some of the rooms. We initially booked the standard room which was not up to scratch, but we were really impressed by the upgraded luxury room we got offered, with some of the city’s best views of the Taj. All the staff was pretty friendly, especially the security guard at the front desk. Moreover the rooftop restaurant is quite a nice place to chillout especially at sunset after a day of sightseeing. We recommend the special Veggie thali if you are really hungry. They also serve beer but it is well overpriced compared to the rest of the items on the menu (alternatively there is a beer shop not far from the hotel). Overall we would definitely come back to the Taj Plaza as it offers great value for money and breathtaking views of one of the World’s Seven Wonders.
