Loved, Loved, Loved this little boutique hotel. The room was a little small but the staff brought in a snack tray everyday with fruit, bottled water and candy. Nice and friendly staffs. Especially the Assistant Manager? , Mr Wu Thein Fei, who was extremely help full when my wife had a small incident at the hotel. The hotel room is very spacious ...

Very nice room, very clean, huge bed, really hot shower with good pressure. Staff were very helpful in giving me directions to Yungang Caves. Many buses just around the corner, 1 bus ride to either rail station or long distance bus station. Stayed at this Jinjiang Inn for 3 nights with a friend. Although it is outside the city walls (around 20 minutes walk) it is actually in an interesting part of town with a bustling market right outside the door and plenty of food options nearby. Having explored Datong for a weekend, I think we made a good choice, especially as the room rate was less than $20 for a twin...

Our stay in Datong was just for two nights to see the Yungang Grottoes. Perfectly situated between the Drum tower and the South Wall Gate (with steps to the top of the wall), the Garden Hotel is a very welcoming spot. Once again Agoda has tricked me with star ratings. Definitely not a four star hotel, lot of mould and neglect everywhere. Bathroom door was rotting away, and could not even be shut. But that being said, the staff were amazing. Enjoyed my stay there, and the food was great, but to my mind it was way overpriced for what it was. Next time in Datong, will have to see what ...

I'm not being melodramatic when I say don't stay at this hotel. The hotel looks promising from the outside, but on entering there is a constant smell of stale smoke. I'm not anti-smoking and you can smoke in the lobby, but when this pervades throughout the hotel and the rooms, its just not good. But I guess a lot of people smoke. The only thing i didn't like was the at...
