Traveling to India? Find Haridwar hotels

Price is not the major concern when you are looking for a comfortable stay in 3/4 star hotel. We booked 2 rooms in Regenta Orko's hotel. In one room there was no TV, no kettle , no tea/milk sachets. AND IN ANOTHER Room there were khatmals (insects looking like small cocroaches). We asked staff to change room but they said they are sold out. As we further pushed them they agreed to change room. But this is not what you expect from a good highly paid hotel. Guys please book and read other reviews as well. Breakfast buffet was also so so but bit better than stay

hi me and my wife stayed at godwin for just 1 night and 1/2 a day, but after a 6 hour journey to haridwar, we found the godwin hotel a very relaxing hotel in a comfortable location. the staff was very nice and courteous. rooms were clean. there was a problem with the elevator but it was being rectified. all in all a great hotel, especially in a place like haridwar.

it is a good to have such a good hotel. in haridwar when you go for special dip in river Gange instead of swimming pool you have river Ganges in the varanda of hotel itself and you can have as many as dip it is possible for you. only thing is that when you go to Har ki pauri ghat to perform pooja it is little away. rooms are excellent and the food ( we had only breakfast as it was included in cost of hotel) but it was excellent. overall value for money. if in future i visit Haridwar i will certainly try this hotel.

I had little problem to locate the hotel unassisted, using the supplied map. I walked from train and really it is 5 minutes only, but I took near an hour trying to sort out which way to orient map ... I was enjoying early morning so not in any hurry. The room was too stuffy so I asked for upstairs room and they quickly accommodated me, to a room with fresh open air windows. I do not pay for AC but they gave me AC room, on trust that I did not use it, and of course I did not use AC. The bathroom water was nice and hot and I enjoyed many showers. It is necessary to ask manager please do not turn off geyser, as in India they often turn off electric to save money ... once I asked him, he made sure electric remained on all the time, which I appreciated. I also needed to stay late into the evening so this hotel very kindly allowed me a very late checkout for a modest cost which I paid in cash, well worth while (and much cheaper than the Agoda rip off prices). I also had some problem with internet (modem failed at hotel) so they took me in person to the neighbouring Hotel Queen where they offered to give me a new room, but I chose instead to simply walk across to use net ... after some hours the manager at Hotel King bought a new modem to ensure the service was resumed. I was very happy with the kind and friendly and supportive staff and manager and will go again to this hotel any time if I am in Haridwar. The location is very good for walking to ghats and close to station, also some very nice street food and cultural centres, ashrams etc. I give it 3 stars for cleanliness, 5 stars for service and location, 3 stars for value (but 4 stars if I paid Indian rupees instead of Agoda rip off) and lastly, 5 stars for co-operation and customer support and management.

the hotel is on main highway (nh-58) and is good for people who are looking for a stay on their way to destinations like badrinath, mana pass near indo-tibet border, joshimath, chamoli, vishnuprayag, nandaprayag, karnaprayag, rudraprayag, srinagar, devprayag, rishikesh, haridwar from delhi. the rooms were clean and comfortable. i only had breakfast in the hotel, it was okay not great.

I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights with my family during my trip to Haridwar and Rishikesh. This hotel is located near to railway station. Its location is excellent, Ganga Ghat is also at walking distance from the hotel, rooms r clean, so many restaurants are in nearby locations. They also provided a good quality food on order in our room with a nominal service charges. Here staff is very friendly, services are good. It is really value of money.

This relatively small, yet fully equipt, clean and modern hotel was perfectly located between Haridwar and Rishikesh. My husband and I planned to stay a week, but ended up staying three weeks. Rather than having to change hotels to go to either Haridwar or Rishikesh, this hotel offers both. It is in a bucolic country setting, yet just a two minute walk to the local markets and vendors selling goods along Sapt Rishi Ghat. Because it is located an easy walking distance to Sapt Rishi Ghat, I was able to walk over to the peaceful banks of the Ganges River several mornings and take holy dips with the locals. The hotel staff is excellent. Although we were on the breakfast and dinner meal plan, I would often pick up vegetables in the local markets, and the kitchen staff would cook up the most exotic Indian dishes for my husband and myself. The hotel owner is Jain, and keeps the hotel perfectly clean & fully vegetarian, peaceful, and gracious. Our stay could not have been better.

Some of the lights in the room were not working. The room was a good size and on the whole functioned well. My main complaint is about the breakfast. Sandwiches or a couple of Indian dishes, with chai. That's it. No options such as toast, butter, fruit, juice, cornflakes....The breakfast is not worth the extra you pay. Stay for the room, not the rest. The room service food was fine - tasty.

1. Hotel claims to be a business hotel. However there are no subscribed English business news channels. Even after requesting 3 channels specifically namely CNBC TV18, ET Now and Sony ESPN, they could not fulfill the request citing non-ability to customize for specific rooms. I can't understand which 'business' segment you guys are catering to! 2. My request for smoking room was not provided and the reason cited was that there are no smoking  rooms in the entire hotel. My question is then why provide this option while booking and do mis-selling.

We had been planning a trip to Haridwar for a long time but had decided would stay in Haveli Hari Ganga only as it was highly recommended by our family members. Our stay here has been very pleasant and we would highly recommend this place to fellow travellers. Some of the best parts about this property include: 1) Its got a great location with a beautiful view of the Ganges which you can enjoy at your leisure during morning and night also. 2) Their own private ghat, it was so much fun with the kids here which would not have been possible in another place 3) The quality of the staff is very good and they are all very courteous. Many a times we have seen that hotels have filled their staff with trainees to reduce costs which leads to a very poor service. 4) The rooms are good and spacious and the hotel has the feel of a heritage property with all modern amenities. 5) The hotel is very good at organizing your daily excursions e.g. they organized our tickets to Mansa Devi and made our trip there very easy and relaxed 6) The hotel is right in the market and you can always go out for your shopping, meals and come back to the hotel easily. 7) We got a very good price through the travel sites so would recommend people to check the various sites before doing a final booking. 8) The meals are also very good at the hotel, we took our breakfast here and once tried the dinner thali. Both of them offer a good variety of foods and also the kids were able to enjoy the meals. 9) There is live music (bhajans) in the night at 7:30 - 8:30 which was enjoyed by all I cannot think of any cons for our stay and look forward to our next visit to the hotel.

We were staying at this hotel for two nights. The management is extremely formal and the room boys a bit disinterested. Sometimes we had to call the reception more than once in order to get drinking water brought to our room. But the rooms are nice, clean and fancy. There's hot water 24hrs. A big big plus is the pure veg. menu which makes every vegetarian want to eat there. They have Pizza and Fallafel, everthing delivered to one's room within no time. That was amazing. It's a bit outside of Haridwar and a moto rikshaw from the train station costs about 150 INR.

We booked 2 x Deluxe Executive with breakfast for one night but never got around to tasting the breakfast due to the nature of our visit. There were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room which I would have expected as standard for this type of room. The in room toiletries were very basic and minimum. The free wi-fi did not work anywhere in the hotel which was very disappointing although my device showed as connected, I could not get onto the internet and the explanation offered by the receptionist who didn't seem to know anything was "bad weather" what????. I come from England where the waether is considerably worse yet we don't have connection problems!! It was cold in the rooms but we were given heaters although mine did not work much but I didn't bother to get it replaced for one night. Overall disappointed with that particular receptionist but otherwise it was worth the money as an economical clean and comfortable hotel. We never tried the breakfast due to the nature of our visit. All the rooms looked the same and I could not tell the difference between the different variations that have been advertised - just look at the pics and you'll know what I mean!!

The staff is a group of young men who are new to running this business. They care about their customers and were very helpful and personable. I thought there were too many people doing the same job....but that's ok. The room size was good and the bed was comfortable. However, the towels, sheets, room walls, bathrooms walls were dirty!!!! The staff were happy to replace the sheets and linens. After the first night, the initial shock of the unclean bathroom wore off. I mentioned this to the manager and he agreed to deal with it once he had more staff on his payroll. The kitchen and dinning facility is minimal....found a cockroach in my vegetable.....so cleanliness is a big issue with this hotel.

The staff is trying to be humble and helpful. However, we found fringy towels, bedsheets with stains and holes... On top, all devices such as AC and geyser are being controlled by a switchboard in the reception. If you want to use any device, you have to call the reception to switch it on for you!! There were no toiletries such as soap or shampoo...totally tight-fisted hotel, not really recommended, sorry.

Group of 15 guests, booked 8 rooms in December 2018. Overall, guests were happy with the hotel, as it was affordable yet clean and comfortable. Location was actually a good 15-20 minutes walk from the main temple on the banks of Ganga, not 5 minutes away. There is no parking available at this hotel, nor are buses permitted in this zone, not even to drop off. The guests ended up walking 30 minutes, luggage in tow. Rickshaws asked INR 200 to bring guests a distance of 15 minutes walk, but from there required a further 15 minutes walk to the hotel. This is an older building, but newly refurbished and with a working lift. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Hot water kettle was provided for making tea/coffee. As it was December and cold, no one tried out the AC. There were complaints of no hot water in the bathrooms. Staff was helpful and offered to prepare dinner and breakfast for our party.

This is my second stay at the Sun Hotel in 4 years and the good quality of the hotel has been consistent. Staff are efficient and friendly, food is superb. Bathroom was clean and decent. Also it's away from the main traffic and noise that is so prevalent in India. You wake up to the early morning bajans from the ashram next door, very inspiring. Have a cup of tea from the stall outside the hotel, feed the cows before you leave in the morning. We loved the experience of being in the "old" India.

this hotel is just right if you are looking for a very clean place with privacy - we didn't see any other visitors! the manager/owner was very friendly - he noticed it was my birthday from our booking info and gave us excellent free sweets. don't book a taxi through the hotel. we were charged to go to rishikesh, and then later got one all the way back to haridwar through a travel agent for only.
