Lombok hotels & places to stay

We stayed twice during our month long trip to Indonesia & it was great value. The staff were so friendly & took so much care of my son that we decided to stay back one day rather than go out. We are all vegans & Lombok is an amazing place for vegan food, for breakfast every morning they made us banana juices (water & banana) without hesitation, staff made every single effort to ensure we were so happy. We were so happy that we will go back because Lombok really is paradise. But what we stayed with us is they called all the restaurants near to find out who would make us vegan food they picked us up & dropped us off (I wanted to walk but my mum had just had a knee replacement) the food was amazing, so fresh & 10 times cheaper than we would have found. My mother still talks about the food we are in Lombok!

the hotel was new and very well maintained. all staff were very helpful and the meals were good with wines that were well priced when compared with other restaurant. the room was big.lovely pool,lovely beach..security is very well..the price in this hotel is very cheap if we compared with other hotel in lombok..lombok villas and resort i think have 5 star facilities in lombok.the breakfast is so delicious.

This hotel is the best so far for our stay in Lombok. It has good view and you can hear the ocean which is very calming. Located in Senggigi so it has nice beach and huge swimming pool for family. They decorated our room and treat us very well for our wedding anniv with voucher and small gifts. Breakfast was buffet so you can choose whatever you want. Internet was really fast compare to other hotels in Lombok or Bali but limited for 2 users so if u need more you need to ask them again.

Only had one night at Avia, but it was a night to remember. The pool was very clean, staff always ready to help, the nightly barbecue offered big portions and the room as well as the private pool were very clean. The rustling of the thatched roof in the wind offered respite from the thumping coming across the water from Trawangan, but we were so tired and the bed was comfy enough to whisk us to sleep. Easy to book a glass-bottom boat nearby and for very cheap! And easy to board a private boat to Trawangan, although not so cheap. Again, staff already ready to help. I'd come back again!

One of the best moslem friendly (halal certified) resort in Lombok. Beautiful landscape and architectural design combines with great Indonesian hospitality. We stayed 2 nights in the Presidential Suite, which is really best value for the money. It has a spacious living room and an infinity pool with small outdoor kitchen n sundeck where you can cook your meals by yourselves at the ground floor, while the 2 bedrooms are located at the first floor. The bathroom in the master bedroom is equipped with bathtub and the bathroom in the child bedroom with the shower. The staffs were very friendly and helpful, especially Mas Dayat. However, the resort is not elderly and disable friendly as there are LOTS of steps to climb to reach the rooms. Would be awesome if the elevator can reach to the highest point of the resort, where the Presidential Suite is located. But, in general we are very much enjoying our stay there and definately would love to come back when we visit Lombok again in the future!

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights over Chinese New Year. The hotel arranged for us to be picked up from our hotel in Lombok and we were driven then taken by boat and dropped off on the beach right in front of the hotel. It is in the quiet area of Gili T, but there are many bars/restaurants immediately outside the hotel and it is walking distance to get to the central area (10 mins or so). We actually enjoyed our walks down the main street each day (sometimes several times), are there are lots of places to stop and have a beer on the way. Right in front of the hotel there is the beach with several loungers and you can also order food and drinks in the garden/beach area. At night there is a pizzeria. We missed the breakfast on the first day and a few minutes before 11 they called us to see if we wanted it brought to the room! A nice touch. The room and bathroom are huge and are in a more traditional Indonesian rather than a modern style. They are nicely decorated. There is a mini-bar, hairdryer, safe, umbrellas, dressing gowns etc. There is a small seating area outside each villa, and there was a day bed in our room. There is also a swimming pool and a dive centre at the hotel, however we didn't actually use either. The only negative- the wifi in the room was totally rubbish. Better at reception area I think. I would definitely recommend this as a great option for families- the kids will be happy with the pool, pizza and beach nearby and it is away from the drunken crowds in central (us), also for older couples or for young couples like us who are past the backpacker stage and who don't want to have live bands and djs constantly blaring near your room at 2am I can imagine it is quite noisy having your accommodation in central. Villa Almarik was perfect for us- we still managed to go out until late every night as we didn't mind the walk to central. I think it'd be a bit of a boring place for young singles.

we stayed in the green room which is at the very last room on the venue. when we arrived, already i was so happy to see how reception area is built.it was like floating in the sky! staff and the owner were very warm and welcoming. the owner took us to the room and explained room facilities. *room* it was much bigger than i thought and much better than it seems in the photos! big rain shower and big bed,big mirror space and candles(thought we didn't have chance to use....)nice bath robe and big bath towels,proper hot water....everything were just great! i think we had the best room since it was on the end of 3rooms beside infinity room which means no body would pass by on their way to get their room from reception/entrance. its just already too much to ask,but if there were a bath tab... *breakfast* we could choose "indonesian/western meal"."eating at your room/eating space next to reception(though it seemed no body was using that area...). we choose to have it at our balcony next to their beautiful infinity pool and great hill top view. every morning it was just like a heaven to spend such a beautiful time with great meal. both indonesian meal(nashi gore/mi goren) and western meal(croissant was just killing me every morning...)were amazing.big potion and quality food.i simply loved everything about breakfast. if i can say one thing,it would be nice if yogurt was served a bit more than amount of 1 spoon. *food* we ordered room service. had burger and cream sauce pasta. it was the best meal in lombok!!!!! very proper and thick taste,we loved it!!!! the puncak is located on the hill top,but we rent a bike and it took us just around 10min to get center area. we definitely would like to come back to the puncak even though lombok itself has not much to do, it worth to go just to stay in the puncak relaxing and enjoying beautiful pool,comfortable room and beautiful view. best place for couple! if you want to party maybe its not the place sinc

I think this is the second best hotel in the island. Even though I found a scorpion in my bedroom. So please go on reading, because giving a score to a hotel in Gili is not a simple matter. Swimming with colored fish and turtles in Gili was one of the highlights of our Indonesian trip. Really incredible. But there's a price to pay: you have to stay in Gili islands, and they are not a good fit for an urbanite like myself. The Vamana hotel is relatively modern and clean, and the staff is nice and helpful (I think there are at least 15 people working there, and the hotel has 15 rooms). Looking from the outside, I would say that Vamana is definitely one of the top 5 hotels of Gili T. The only one that is clearly better is the Aston Sunset Hotel, which is isolated on the other side of the island. Vamana is in an absolutely perfect location: just close enough that you can walk anywhere you want to go, but on the edge of town so it's relatively quiet and you can actually go to the beach just in front of the hotel without having to share it with a trillion boats. Plus, this particular beach is one of the best places for snorkeling with fish and turtles: just grab your mask&finn and go into the water! Now, the scorpion issue... It was black, and about 6-8cm long. I don't have pictures because I has busy trying not to cry like a little girl while the staff came to kill it. Scary as hell. We cut our stay by one night because of this: we were just not resting as we should. But this is not an issue with Vamana hotel, it's an issue with the island itself. What you'll find behind all the hotels (even the Aston Sunset) is just jungle. Things live there, and they wander. Episodes such as the one we had must happen once a month in the better hotels, once a week in the not-so-great ones (they told us Vamana does a monthly anti-pest spray, which was coming the week after we left; maybe it should happen once every two weeks, but others may not even be doing any).

blending perfectly into nature, the jeeva is really a gem. everything is perfectly clean, and so comfortable and specious rooms. we chose the ananda beachfront, it was just marvelous to relax. there are plenty of quality lounge chairs, so you never have to rush oder even "reserve" one. the layout is so generous, you don't feel stressed even when the jeeva is full. a warm and friendly, and compared to other hotels in lombok, very exeperienced staff does their best to make you feel at home. excellent cuisine, and special wishes round this comfort hotel! their fantastic library room in colonial style offers lots of choice if you have time to read... even the computer is free opf charge. and not to forget the fabulous 5 o'clock teatime, with coffee, cake and fruit selection. jeeva sets standards on lombok hard to beat....

Our experience traveling in Lombok and on Gili was that it is still quite underdeveloped; things often don't work or break levels of cleanliness and availability of services and goods is scarce. Kelapa was excellent because despite the inevitable breaks in electricity (a full 2.5 days of no electricity during our stay, thanks God for their backup generators) and equipment failures (eg. TV, bikes) the staff was always there at the ready to find a solution, with a smile. This is what makes the difference. We loved the location too, since it is in the middle of the island and each day you can cycle in a different direction for a different destination. AC shorted out several times at night, and bikes were in dire need of repair and maintenance, but they were free and were absolutely essential for getting around. Didn't hear the prayer calls too much or loudly either, which was great. Breakfast was ample and delicious.

We rented a villa w/pool, the best value for the money. So nice to just relax in your own room pool outside your villa. Room was equipped with everything, even a dvd player. Outside modern rain shower shower head. Free bicycle rental to all guests staying there. It is about a 5-7 min bike ride to the main road. The main mode of transport is the horse drawn buggies, so be careful as you ride, they do trot along quickly on the road and it is to narrow for both the horse cart and a bicycle to pass. Just something to be aware of. You can easily ride around the island from where you started in about 30-40 mins of riding with some stops here and there. Wifi in the room was great, no problems picking up a signal everyday. There is a large common pool in the restaurant area for all to swim if you do not rent a pool villa. The property is very natural, quiet, could barely hear the mosque call to prayer, faint muffling sound. Such a peaceful, relaxing place, you will not forget this hotel. They have a sister property on Gili Meno, no horse carts, bicycles and walking is the mode of transpo on Meno. Everyone at Ottalia is super helpful, even the owner (who is French)came out from behind the check-in desk to ask us if we had any problems with our bicycles. We said, the tire light would not lock in place against the tire to generate power to light up, so he actually got positioned correctly and fixed it. The restaurant breakfast was tough, what I mean is, you can only order one main course breakfast item, eggs or french toast, its one or the other. They also havey two flavors Muselix cereal; chocolate and banana I believe, Yogurt and fresh fruits. Toast with assorted jams/jellies. Coffee, tea, milk, juices. Arggghhh! So, breakfast if pretty light for the appetite. If the hotel was to upgrade its kitchen and menu, I feel this would make the hotel very complete in a perfect place to stay and eat. We will definitely stay here again! Well worth the money!

Origin Lombok provided a fantastic service for the entire duration of our stay. The room was lovely and clean, with all the necessary facilities and amenities. The enclosed bathroom is absolutely perfect, containing a walk in shower and toilet, simple but with some nice touches to make it feel high end. There is also a mini bar, tv, safety deposit box and terrace with bed and bean bag to chill. The bed within the room is large and comfortable. When staying make sure you check out the resort restaurant, the food is absolutely delicious and impeccably presented whilst also being reasonably priced. My partner and I have eaten at many restaurants around Indonesia and this one is right up there with the best. The pool and bar area is a great place to chill, with the surrounding forest and hills it is a unique and very picturesque place to relax and have a swim and drink from the extensive range offered. As well as the facilities offered, the staff are a pleasure to be around, always so friendly and willing to help, each member of the team is an absolute credit to the resort. Whilst the resort is fantastic, the surrounding areas are a must see during your stay, conveniently the hotel offers a scooter hire service, which is very simplistic, so definitely do this and enjoy Kuta!

We stayed for 4 days , this hotel is a fantastic hotel with lots of shops, restaurants close by , the breakfast was excellent ,and their evening restaurant was reasonably price with delicious food . Our sea view room was beautiful, the best quality about this hotel is their wonderful, professional staff . I had to deal with calls and emails from home as my bank card was cloned in Bali , The senior hotel receptionist Jama and her junior front desk staff was absolutely wonderful, so helpful and accommodating, we also mistakenly took the remote control from our last hotel in Lombok and she very kindly organised the return. A truly wonderful relaxing 4 days spent in hotel.

It's a paradise on earth especially if you travel with children, there are tons of activities going on at Novotel Lombok. We stayed at the Villa for 2 nights, my only regret is that we should have stayed longer. We enjoyed every single moment at Novotel and the only time we went out was to have lunch at Ashtari. Check in was fast and efficient. The room was ready upon our arrival although we were an hour early. Staff are helpful and friendly. Room interior is of high quality and we were totally impressed. There was a specially arranged breakfast on the hill, a pleasant surprise! The beach at the back of the villa is breathtaking. There's a kids club that provide free nanny service. Pools are nice. Our kid played all day and made new friends everyday. F&B at the hotel is not that great though.. however, we still dine in the hotel for convenience sake, plus, the kid was really happy and doesn't want to go anywhere else. The restaurant is located right next to the beach.. the kids club and pool... so kids can just eat and play at the same time. Will definitely go back again!

My daughter’s stay on Lombok during the earthquakes was traumatic however she said the hotel and all staff made sure she was comfortable and safe. Many thanks to all. However when trying to check in, reception were unable to find her booking and after contacting Agoda she was finally able to access her reservation. The booking was made 12 hours beforehand. All’s well that ends well, as the situation on Lombok probably contributed to the ‘computer glitch’

The moment we stepped into Jeeva Santai we knew it would be a holiday to remember. The food, service, accommodation and view are to die for. We always go to Bali but will change to come and try the Jeeva franchise in Lombok. Many highlights including happy hour's with tapas whilst watching the sunset and Mt. Agung in our sight. The friendly genuine staff make you feel really special and the cleaniness of this place is on their top priority. Thank you so much Jeeva for making our holiday one of a kind!

We spent almost 3 weeks in Bali and Lombok, and our trip to Mahamaya on Gili Meno was the highlight for us for sure. The rooms were super clean, comfortable and a good size. The price included free bikes, snorkeling gear and kayaks, and an la carte breakfast was plentyful, and there was a buffet of fruit, yogurt, and Indonesian food if the a la carte menu did not satisfy your hunger. The restaurant is located in front of the hotel right on the beach, and has the most spectacular, unobstructed view for sunset drinks and dinner. The food was at an extremely high level, and among the best that we had during our 3 week trip. There are two pools located behind the hotel, in the courtyard surround by rooms. A great spot to relax under an umbrella in the shade. The staff went above and beyond, and I mean all the staff, from reception, to restaurant staff, to housekeeping. Everyone in the hotel addressed us by our names, and the whole experience was personal. This kind of attention to detail is what puts Mahamaya above and beyond the other boutique hotels in Gili Meno which we visited for food. We had 3 short nights here, and our only regret is that we didnt stay longer. We were worried we would get bored on the island, but the beach and hotel lends itself to relaxing, with the option of grabbing a bike, kayak or snorkeling equipment to explore both on and off land. There is a small coral reef only meters from the beach and hotel which and non-confident swimmer can access. The water is crystal clear and you can even stand quite far out for those who are not confident in the water. As you can see, we enjoyed ourselves.

It's about 15mins bicycle ride to the hotel from Gill Trawangan jetty. You may opt for a horse ride and might be faster. As we need to catch an early boat back to Lombok, the hotel staff help us to pack our breakfast. We rarely use the facilities around as most of the time you will be exploring around the island. Overall, we had a great and memorable stay at Gili Khayangan Villa, thanks to their small souvenir gift and thank you note to us.

Pros. We stayed in a pool villa. Fantastic. Total privacy which is what we like. Outside grounds are expansive and well set back from the beach. Secluded. The beach is not perfect for sunsets but it has incredible views of Lombok, surf and sea, plus amazing morning light. Refreshing Winds in the morning too. Snorkeling was surprisely good. Easy and right there. Careful of the coral as it is very shallow. Cons. Breakfast is limited.. So if you stay for more than a few days, you will be out of options. It is not buffet style. I agree with that as buffets are wasteful, but if you stayed for a while you would be bored. Speed boat pick up was bad, maybe unlucky with the crew as private booking through the hotel. Lazy guys, sloppy. Check out was at 10.30am... Which is too early. We couldn't even checkin until 2.30pm.. So no idea why 4 hours is needed to make up a room. That was disappointing and surprising. Overall it was beautiful, Relaxing! Total getaway.

Mola Mola is a fantastic resort! The location is perfect; I would say its situated on the best part of the island. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The free bicycles are a lovely touch. The pool however had a bit of a murky green color and not very inviting. Then again, who needs a pool when you have the ocean on your doorstep! Ample choices for breakfast. I was foolish enough to forget my bag containing my phone and all essential travel documents while heading to Gili Air. I only realized when I was on the boat. A few phone calls and low and behold my bag was brought to the harbor in Gili Air and shipped to Padang Bai on the next boat. You can imagine my relief when a perfectly packed parcel containing my bag and all its contents was handed over to me a couple of hours later! Thank you Mola Mola for all the effort. A shining example of caring for your guests. A small tip for fellow travelers; the Lumbung suites are lovely but not very practical in the heat. There's only a 1 ton split AC which of course can't possibly cool 2 floors. Also the design is not practical with closet space and bathroom on the ground floor and sleeping arrangements on the top floor. We had initially booked the Lumbung suite but moved to the Deluxe Suite which is fabulous! Highly recommended.

We had a great time at Kies. First booked three nights in a Deluxe Studio, which offers lots of comfort: comfortable couch, minibar, desk, a king size bed, outdoor bathroom with rain forest shower...and a lot more. We liked it so much so that we directly booked three further nights just on the arrival day. Unfortunately, the Deluxe Studio was not available anymore, so we moved to a Plush Pad...amazing! Rooms with very high standard, amazing outdoor bathroom with own palm and little garden in it. The rooms are directly located to the big pool, just perfect to relax and chill out. Even all the staff is so friendly, you can just have a great time at Kies Villas! The whole areal is made with lots of love to details, everything in the best condition! It's definitely the best value for money we experienced during three weeks in Bali/Lombok/Gilis!! Big thanks to the whole team for let us having such a great time! When we come back to Lombok we definitely will come back to Kies as well!!!

This relative new Boutique resort is an oasis located at the beach site of Sengiggi Lombok. Located about an hour from the airport in Sengiggi by taxi for Rp. 250.000. The (Lombok) Kuta beach close to current airport seems to be more beautiful and will develop over the years. Now only e.g. Novotel.. The place to be is the other side, Senggigi where the old airport was. The resort designed set up is very nice in many details. Beautiful garden and reception. The Bar, restaurant and pool area are overlooking the beach and sea. There is one connecting room type of bungalow. The rooms are nicely designed with an open outside bathroom with shower. Beds, pillows, mini bar, safe, AC, wifi all nice and convenient and of high quality. Excellent luggage service and friendly staff. The pool area offers enough quality sun beds, towels and parasols to relax. It is difficult though to catch the sun as most are located under the many palm trees. The pool service can be more pro active as people claim a sun bed early without using it, arriving just very late/limited or just leave the towels not knowing if you can take it or not. The hotel is outside the small town Sengiggi and can be reached by taxi for Rp 15.000 only as well many restaurants offer a free shuttle service like “ Square Restaurant” by far the best in town. Good location for taking a private chartered boat to the Gili islands from Sengiggi beach. Very nice snorkeling at the 3 Gili’s a full day costing total US $ 70,- Easy to rent at agency across “Asmara restaurant” or rent a motorbike for $5 a day. Food and drinks are priced in line with quality of the resort. You would expect that such a resort offers a real espresso/cappuccino at breakfast. Unfortunately this was only offered when you would pay an additional $5++ A missed opportunity to make the stay excellent in details. Overall very nice Boutique resort to stay.

The location of the hotel is awesome. It's only 2 mins walk from the harbour. I booked a Seaview tent, but was assigned to a tent at the second row, where half of the view has been blocked by the tents in the first row. The water from the shower head in my tent was extremely slow and and the TV was not functioning. Fortunately the hotel staff was friendly enough to change us to a Seaview bungalow. The Seaview bungalow was excellent, but do expect loud music from the opposite island til midnight. And the power and water supply were cut off few times in a day, once during the midnight and once when I was in the midst of showering. The food available around the hotel is very limited. You gotta ride on a horsecart to those sunset view restaurants, which is about 15min away. Good things about the hotel is their staff are really well trained and helpful. All staff in the hotel would remember your name and great you every time they meet you. They do provide free bicycle, kayak etc.

we checked-in past midnight and was surprised with the complimentary upgrade of our booked room. with the price we paid for, there were plenty of complimentary items and activities to do (short hill hiking, swimming, village tour, beaches tour). galon water, hair dryer, welcome fruits and spacious bathroom were great features of our room. outdoor bathroom is also available (yes, that means 2 separate showers in the bathroom). the rooms are bungalow type, with greens and flowers surrounding each bungalow. very peaceful and love property. i think it's the only big hotel in sekotong area of west lombok (1hour 15mins from lombok int'l airport). boat to gili nanggu is available at half-priced fee compared to local boats outside the hotel. boat ride was about 15 mins to nanggu. snorkeling and diving activities (in packages with the equipment and guide) also available with additional fees. the staff were helpful and friendly. we had a truly pleasant stay.

Stay here for one night but wish to stay more night here. Can easily spot the hotel from far as Mataram don't have much tall building and 4-star hotel like golden tulip. I would rate this hotel more than a 4 star. Room and bed is comfortable and clean. Get the suite room. The suite room is big and have the greatest view. All staff providing excellent service especially the reception staff. The hotel include all the facilities, gym, spa, swimming pool, roof top bar and dine. Great menu of the restaurant, love the Bebek and the ayam taliwang. They do provide hotel transfer from the airport and only cost rp250.000, which is consider cheap compare to the taxi. Will definitely stay again if I'm in Lombok
