"Kashiwaya ryokan is located a short walk from the 清流の湯入口 bus stop and the bus stop returning to Nakanojo station, making it in a very convenient location. I was greeted warmly by the staff and my luggage was kept while the receptionist/owner gave me some extremely useful maps and explained the available onsens in the area. Being located away from the central and upper towns, it was abit of a walk to the onsens and sites, but I feel like it adds to the experience and made it even more rewarding! It is located very close to the main bath, Seiryu no yu, which allows you to visit the bath whenever you want. There were few dining options available in the towns, but it was 100% worth it to pay for the dinner and breakfast as the spread was amazing, from grilled ayu, to nabemono, to a very pleasant matcha-based desert. The staff were so kind and welcoming as wel. The tatami rooms were spacious and luxurious with a nice view of the outside. Overall, I would definitely come back again!"
