Where to stay in Nong Khai
Nong Khai hotels & accommodations

Its just 1km from the bus station, we paid a tuktuk 40baht to the hotel and its like 5mins to get there. We like our stay at the hotel since its only5mins to be everywhere by walk. There are the very well-known Vietnamese Restaurant, the indochina market and temples along the Melong River. We walked to see the sunrise in the early morn at the river and the weather was ...

Great room, clean, very comfortable bed and high quality bedding. The pool is fantastic, huge and clean, and is accessible directly from many of the rooms. I was very surprised to get upgraded to the Pool Access room! The staff is wonderful. The manager, who speaks wonderful English, checked me in personally, and the helpful staff assisted me with my bags to my room. ...

after you check in this hotel you will know what is thai hospitality. the service that really make this hotel outstanding compare to their competitors. of course you must compare with the hotel in the same price range. there still have many good hotel in nongkhai but you might require to pay double to get what offer in this hotel. the location are perfect not far f...

We stay here often. One of my favorite places in Thailand. Nice clean hotel rooms and cabanas. Beautiful pool. But best part is the very relaxed feel of the place. Friendly but not overly agressive staff are the perfect fit for the place. Adequate breakfast with both Thai and western options. The emphasis appears to be on the grounds where there are lots of differ...

I really liked the Tanzeno hotel. While Nong Khai is not a large Thailand City, the hotel is minutes off the main highway to Vientiane. The rooms were modern, clean and well-furnished; the hotel was good value for money. The staff was pleasant and helpful. My stay was highlighted by an unfortunate incident – my fault entirely. The room had a safe and as I usually do w...

This is a basic efficient property. The only amenities in the room were two bottles of water and a mini fridge. The shower was the best I have used in Thailand with body soap and shampoo in dispensers! They have both hot and cold water with lots of pressure. The shower has a half wall with glass above that to keep the toilet paper dry. Hop Inn needs to negotiate a walk...

Great hotel and wonderful staff. From the man on the desk who came out on his scooter to show me the way to the hotel when I couldn't find it on my map app, to the very helpful and friendly housekeeping staff and the guy who drove us around in the hotel tuk tuk to find a couple of spots for a local feed. Really can't fault the staff or hotel.

I had noticed this hotel almost 1 year ago as I live in Nongkhai and thought I must try this hotel one day. Its location is close to the Friendship Bridge and Immigration. It is about a 5-10 minute ride from the centre of Nongkhai and its attractions. The hotel has a swimming pool which is clean and an outside dining area. We stayed in the wooden bungalow which was tra...

Stayed in a standard room. Was pleasantly surprised by the large room and good sized bathroom. Shower had strong flow of hot water. Room was comfortable with a fridge and the included wifi has fast download speed. Slept well. Originally intending only to stay one night but extended my stay by another night. Hotel staff can help with scooter rental. They printed a map t...

I visited the hotel with my wife during the off-season, the price was very good. I was very happy with the hotel. The room was nice and with a nice view and balcony. I had a hire car which I was advised to park in a rough parking lot opposite the hotel. I was very uneasy about parking there as there were large buses and a taxi rank there and very few cars! My hire c...

There are two hotels in Nong Khai, the Nongkhai Hotel and Resort and the Nongk Khai resort both close to the train station. The hotel is part of a parking lot come warehouse and is quite a way from the main city and restaurants, you definately need a car to stay here or use a Tuk Tuk or Taxi to get into the city. The plus point is that if you wish to obtain a v...

The Thai immigration officer pointed in the direction of the Hilun Gland Hotel: go back. It is situated beside the Frienship Bridge, could see the trafic between the trees but hardley hear it. Most hotel are situated in this area, certainly those with a swimming pool. Tuk - Tuk 100 to 150 bath for a trip to town or Lotus-Tesco. Arrived without a paper voucher and smart...

What a beautiful place to stay, the owner and his wife were the perfect hosts, was our first time in nongkhai, they told us the best restaurants to go to and they were right,we are stopping there again on our way back to Bangkok, a first class experience, tun the owner even got up early and took us to the bus station to get the early bus to Vientiane, one of the best pl...

+New, clean +Spacious room with private toilet (which we didn't expect) and fridge +Peaceful environment +Out of touristic scenery +Lovely Thai people in the suburb just ready to do their best to help you -SO hard to find, even tuktuk drivers didn't know where the place is, but in the end the owner picked us up after we called him. Same thing with the other coup...

New place. Enjoyed a spacious room with an adjacent parking bay. Chances are if you are staying here, you have your own means of transportation. It is not quite within walking distance of Nong Khai. It is conveniently located only a few kilometers from the friendship bridge on the highway yet the rooms were quiet despite the traffic. As luck would have it, there's a 7...

I had such a great time staying here. Their room and shower room were clean and cozy. Also, they have unique and interesting artworks as well. The staff name Nom was super friendly and helpful. He even gave me a ride to the bus station in the morning. I would definitely recommend this place and I will for sure stay there next time I visit Nong Khai!

it was worth staying a bit far from Nongkhai. The guesthouse is beautiful, quiet, clean, elegant. And very friendly and good service. with delicious breakfast - ricesoup, omelet, bread etc. and just on the border of the Meekong and next to a large temple. Super!

This hotel is a bit of a mystery to me, it's brand new, looks really stylish and has a lovely pool but seems to be lacking that certain something. Don't get me wrong at £14 per night it's absolutely fantastic value & you would be hard pushed to beat it anywhere! It could just do with a few extras, bedside lights, room safe & a hair dryer maybe. You'll definitely need y...

I only stayed one night on my way to Laos, but my room was very clean, the grounds were well maintained and everything worked fine. The hotel seems to operate with minimal staff during slow times - so you might find yourself checking in in the parking lot with the security guy. Don't expect any facilities to be open. There is a restaurant next door. Even with the min...

My stay was a very relaxing stop over not to far from Nongkhai centre. The friendship bridge and river is only stone throw away. Lotus shopping centre is only a five minute walk. The staff are very friendly and helpful making the stay even more pleasant.

The hotel is nice by itself, room is cozy, all facilities are working well, it's clean, has a big parking. The only one problem of this place is the owner. When we arrived he slept and we had to wait, because the housekeeper didn't know which room should we take. They had very special guests on the next day in the same room, so they were afraid to give that room to us....

As the previous reviews have said, the hotel is a bit hard to find. If you arrive by bus to Nongkhai the tak tak driver will want to take you to a different hotel by the same name located in an area called Tah Sa Det, tell him it is not the Mekong Riverside Guesthouse at Tha Sa Det. It helps to have a print off of your receipt from Agoda which has the address written i...

The hotel is in a desirable location a short ways from the main highway. Its not very far from the river and desirable locations along it. The facility is setup for convenience and has all the basic amenities such as coffee and towels. the staff and their accommodating way is what wins it for this place. They had no more motorcycles for rent, but gave me their pers...

There are many reasons why I would stay at Pan Guest House again if I were to return to Nong Khai. Firstly, the location is excellent, being right smack in the middle of Tha Sa Det Market and on the banks of Mekong. Secondly, the double room we stayed in was well-furnished and the air-conditioning works very well. No mosquitoes in sight unless you hang out on the veran...

After travelling from the UK arriving too late to enter Laos via the Friendship Bridge, the Huen Esan Place was the perfect stop over. A pre-arranged late check-in (10pm) was perfectly implemented. The Baansabairimkong Guesthouse is a beautifully designed, spacious guesthouse, sitting quietly right on the banks of the Mekong and close to the Nongkhai river esplanade. I was told by staff that the guesthouse had been operational for about a year. In a nutshell, our stay was excellent. Our room was a 'deluxe with river view', and surpassed our wildest dreams. Came from laos to catch a train to BKK the next morning. Staff gave a wakeup knock at the door even when i haven't asked for just to make sure that i don't miss the train. Got a big bed, good a/c and toilet/shower facilities A short problem to find my booking, but everything went well at the end

i choose this hotel because of good location. the room i booked (triple river view with balcony) is located on the ground floor and not only had a river view, but also has direct view from people walking outside. so, i needed to close the curtain during staying in the room. recommend to book the room on the second floor.

Very nice riverside promenade allows for long walks or bicycle rides. Many places to eat and shop and town has a very nice vibe to it.
A small laid back town with very little tourist. More a backwater town where people are not friendly probably the lack of Interaction with tourist.
The Aquarium is a great way to learn more about NK. Also the museum gives you insight into the culture and history to the area.
Nongkhai is the town to pass to Lao and nothing to remember but Sri chaingmai is bueatiful than town
Nongkhai is the last province when you want to across the country and travel at Lao especially for Vientiane City then they have many religious and culture places for whom interested
Nong Khai is usually just a "gateway" into or out of Vientiane, Laos. However, it has a bit more going for it than Vientiane other than food options in Vientiane that are far superior.
Nongkhai is quiet city and you can tour around the city and shopping at the Indichina market near the Mekhong river it is very nice
This place has many histories of the relationship between Thailand and neighbor countries. It is amazing to learn their cultural and traditional.
Our only recommendation is to visit Sala Keoku which is incredible and much more interesting/aesthetic than a lot of typical wats around Thailand.
I found it most interesting and will stay longer next time as much to see if you have a car. A quiet town and used mainly for people passing through between Laos and Thailand.
Wonderful part of Thailand. Still relatively untouched by the very tourist intensive places such as Bangkok, Phuket, and Pattaya.
Not an enormous amount to see and do in Nong Khai. Visit Sala Keo Kou, Wat Pho Chai and the must is Tha Sadet Market, don't go after dark though, this is a day time affair.
It is a real border city. So there is a great deal to do, shop for, see, and simply explore. being so close to Laos means that there is a mix of Thai/Laos elements to take in.
Gate way to Lao via Vien Tien. Lots of Historical Sites and Temples. Looking VienTien from Sri Chiang Mai town, very nice view.
Dinner on the river is good but the market is nothing special. It's a good place to stay if you are traveling over to Laos or going back down to Bangkok and catching a bus.
It is larger than I would have expected, with a nice riverside parade. But the riverside cafes open too late for breakfast and most close too early for dinner ! But I found a lovely Italian place for dinner just off the river.
It is usually hot and humid, so try to go during the winter months. If you are not into the folklore of nagas, avoid the end of Buddhist Lent.
