Nishimuraya Honkan is a top notch, high quality ryokan. The staff was wonderful, and the facilities including the baths were excellent, better than many of the public baths in this onsen town. I had two different rooms, both lovely, although I was partial to the slightly smaller one (10 tatami, so not small) with the garden view... The ryokan stands out however by the quality of the meals. The food was superb, equivalent to a two star Michelin, and the best I have had in thirteen different trips to Japan over the years. The presentation was also what one can come to expect from such a high quality institution. I was able to compliment the Chef on the quality of service.

Amazing moment like the second home. Very nice welcome people, green tea ceremony and fresh yummy food. The owner and his family looked after me very very well. I feel like a princess. The onsen in the hotel is so awesome. Location is the best. It is between the great onsens. Food is fresh and so much. Good taste ever. Very recommend for people who love peaceful and like to relax in Japan.

I stayed for a very good price (breakfast only plan - I don't eat seafood so didn't want to waste money on the full meal plan). Great location - near the middle of town so you can easily walk to anywhere. Very comfortable room - my room as at least 10 tatami mats, with attached private toilet. No problems with noise, although I was staying on the top floor so didn't have anyone above me. Breakfast was great - lots of variety and lots of food. The best part were the staff though - I had a lovely little old lady looking after my room, setting up my bed and bringing in breakfast. They also made breakfast on my second day extra early because I had to take an early train. Loved my stay and would recommend it to anyone.

My partner and I had a wonderful experience with Kinosaki Yamamotoya! We were served our dinner and breakfast by the very lovely staff member Kaz and we had great conversations with him and felt very much at home. All the staff at the ryokan were warm and friendly and made me feel comfortable there. The food, views, accommodations, the ONSEN (hot spring), all of it was perfect! I could not have asked for a better experience. The ryokan’s own hot spring was pretty empty so it was basically like a private hot spring both times I went. We also got passes to enjoy the other hot springs around there but my favorite was the hotel’s. It was the best dinner of my life. For the price, I think it was %10000 worth it. I would reccomend this place to anyone I know and hope to come back agin some day!

I was able to book this inn when it was discounted. I was able to enjoy its in-house onsen when it was already too late or cold to venture outside to experience the bigger onsens in the area. I had the onsen to myself that evening. My room was just the right size for a solo traveler, and the futon and beddings were comfortable. The staff assisted me in laying out the futon and showed me how to tie my robes. I omit one star because they have an early check out, which was a hassle because I had to rush out of one of the onsens in the village the next morning to check out.

It was one of my best hotel stay during holiday. They have superb customer service, great food including great tajima beef dinner served in our room and they have private onsen bathroom for family. We really love their tatami bed, it was so comfortable and clean. They have big room compared to the rest of our hotel rooms in Japan. Our overall stay was very pleasant and nothing to complain. Although the stay was quite costly, it's worth it. Highly recommended.

- Hotel is traditional onsen hotel with garden acround it. You feel relax once you stepped into the facility. - Some of the facilities has obvious year marks, e.g. blacked wall papers, minerals residue at the side of bath tubes. Overall it’s still clean but the hotel should spend some effort on maintaining the wellness of their facility. - Staff are super friendly. They tried their best to communicate with us, and to fulfill all of our ah-hoc request. - Dinner and breakfast is excellent. The chefs are very detailed minded and make good favor of food. The meals are the top one among my japan trip. - Good of value of money as you can enjoy a private spacious room with lake view. - Definitely a recommended hotel in that area.

I went with my wife on our honeymoon to Kinosaki. Nishmuarya was by far the best hotel of the ones we stayed ay Kinosaki. <Location> : Although it is located away from the main area street, but it is still walking (10mins) away from town. It also makes the location a bit speical not to be in the middle of town with a nice mountain view. <Hotel>: The staffs are the best there, super helpful who can English fluent. From the front desk staff to the room services staff. Super nice and friendly. <Onsen>: Arguably nicer than the outer public ones (7 ones in town). If you are with a family or want some special alone time, you can pay an additional fee to book your own private onsen area in the hotel. There are 3 private onsens for booking. Their Michelin star food was superb, highlighly recommended to include this if you decide to stay there.

I wanted to experience staying in a Japanese style room and this place did not disappoint. It was quite a long walk from the train station however I did not mind because it was a good day for a walk when I went there. The best part in staying here was that the owners were very nice and helpful. I left early the following day so I could catch the first train and they even drove me to the station for free so that I won't miss the train. I hope I stayed longer and I will definitely stay there again in the future.

I booked this hotel at the last minute of my changing plan at Kinosaki Onsen which I first went to the wrong one (base on the map), it was the opposite direction of this hotel. anyway the service was ok as it's a business hotel and you will likely have to service yourself, the reception can't speak english but have all the english brochures line up at the counter for you. The hotel provided Yukata for you to wear while explorning the town. it's quite at the end side of Kinosaki but it's walkable to convenient stores, station, 7 public baths, etc. overall, I had a pleasant stay and will stay here again because of the price.

We went to many onsen in Japan but we think Kinosaki is the right choice with three combination of good onsen facility (big, clean and water quality), plenty of fresh seafood which you can buy cheaper compared to Osaka, and close to Ski resorts. Staying at Kawakuchi hotel will make your experience of Kinosaki onsen even better. It is worth of money and we recommend this hotel to anyone who would like to feel experience of Japanese Ryokan and Hospitality. 1) Hotel location is still considered in the centre of Kinosaki which we can walk about 10 mins from hotel to train station and short walk to 7 onsens. 2) Hotel provides shuttle bus to train station and 7 onsens and they are flexible such as provide special transfer if you are about to miss the train 3) Dinner and Breakfast are very superb - especailly dinner which serve you in your room- lots of seafood menu especailly kani , sasimi with Japanese style decoration . Good cook and good taste. Staff is very nice and explain us all manu when serve. We are enjoy and this is new experience for us. Breakfast is also served in the room. Worth of money. 4) Staff and owner are very kind and helpful. We had a little of problem with room but once we inform the owner has no reluctant to solve and make us happy. Hotel has two room style : Japanese Ryokan and Western Style. You need to check room condition when check in as some of rooms no shower room . (Use hotel onsen for shower) 5) Hotel onsen is also good with outdoor ( especially women onsen according to my wife. 6) We get souvenir from the hotel when we checked out (from we visited 5 onsens out of 7 )

This ryokan exceeded our expectations for a traditional 'Japanese-style' stay and made our visit to Kinosaki very special. Our stay included the dinner and breakfast options, which did not disappoint. However, please note, drinks (ie. sake & beer) are an additional cost. The onsen town of Kinosaki is quaint & picturesque and a good place to unwind from the bustling cities of Japan. In addition to the town's onsen's, we also utilised Sensui's private onsen's which were readily available along with their massage chairs. The staff were very friendly and whilst their English could be limited at times, we never found this a problem. Finding this ryokan was slightly difficult as the English name 'Sensui' was not visible on the entry of the building. We simply recognised it from the booking confirmation photos. Overall, highly recommended!

Wanted to get a ryokan at the atmospheric Kinosaki Onsen but couldn't because the accommodations are fully booked very early. Deciding to base myself as close as possible to Kinosaki Onsen, I found this hotel to be an excellent location, and it's possibly a good decision on hindsight, given how affordable it is (you can save the money to treat yourself to good meal in Kinosaki Onsen), and there's even a daily free drink of your choice provided when you come back from a day of sightseeing.

I am not sure why this hotel is not rated higher. I have stayed here several times, usually alone but sometimes with my family if they are in Japan at the time. We like to go snowboarding at the nearby resorts. I like this hotel because its large, and has most of the conveniences of a modern hotel. But the feel is very warm and friendly, and the staff is excellent. I usually get the dinner and breakfast options, as I think its a lot of good food for a reasonable price. And there also is not much else available in the neighborhood at night. I especially enjoy the onsen, there is a pool outside that is under a lovely stand of cedars. Its great to soak sore snowboard muscles in the hot water with the fresh mountain air. And if you are a bit shy, the three times I have used the onsen I was the only one there. They have a really hot dry sauna as well. Behind the hotel is a small sledding hill with an escalator type lift. If you have kids they will love it.

Ryokan Tsutaya locates about 15 minutes walking from Kinosaki Onsen Station. So if you arrive station before 12.30, you may have to walk to ryokan by yourself, since free shuttle will serve from 12.30 onwards. However, it's close to Goshonoyu and Mandarayu, so it's very comfortable to use service at this 2 bathhouses. Staffs at Tsutaya is very friendly and helpful. Auntie who introduce guestroom to us, prepare dinner, arrange breakfast is really really nice and helpful. Our guestroom is really spacious and with a nice garden view. We enjoy our stay here so much. I definitely recommend Ryokan Tsutaya to whoever will visit Kinosaki Onsen.

Reached the kinosaki onsen station at 12.50 pm. Knew that there is a bus shuttle service from the station at 3 pm but decided to walk from the station to the hotel. A good 20 mins walk but was greeted by the sign that check on only starts from 3 pm and the hotel is closed. Hence waited outside of the hotel from 1 pm to 2.30pm when an hotel staff came to greet us and brought us in. The staff is Super friendly and helped us with our luggages as well. Stayed in a Japanese room with dinner and breakfast provided. Although it is not cheap but it's a crab hot pot cuisine (due to crab season). Too bad could not post the pictures here. Breakfast was sukiyaki. The only thing is that the place is not near the station but the Super Friendly staffs made up for it. Do remember to wait for the bus shuttle at the station at 3 pm instead of walking and waiting there like me.

Ryokan Onishiya Suishoen was absolutely fantastic. We stayed for two days and wished we could stay longer. The staff were impeccable with understanding all of our needs - helpful, friendly and very kind. We were picked up from the station even though we had arrived late and driven to restaurants after the shuttle bus service had finished for the day. The Onsen baths in the Ryokan were our favourite out of all of the baths we visited in Kinosakionsen Town. I absolutely want to come back to Japan to come back here. An absolute delight. We booked breakfast for our two mornings and this was an unforgettable experience - highly recommended. I also booked a massage and this was performed in the room - needless to say - it was great! My three favourite places to visit are Prague, Venice and now Ryokan Onishiya Suishoen in Kinosaki Onsen Town & this is partly down to the staff and the service we received while staying. Kinosakionsen Town itself is beautiful and inviting. A great stay.

This ryokan was absolutely perfect. The owners were wonderful and the room was so cozy and had a small porch with a view of a beautiful garden. One night it was about to rain and one of the owners drove around the town looking for my husband and I to give us umbrellas because they knew it would rain soon! If that's not going above and beyond I don't know what is. If you are planning a stay in kinosaki, I sincerely recommend this wonderful ryokan.

The lady who took care of our room and meals made us feel rushed and unwelcome during our stay. On our last morning, she even entered our room without our permission and started cleaning and putting away the futons while some of us were still sleeping! We understand that there's a check-out time but to do that before our check-out time is completely unacceptable. She even went as far as saying that this is how it is at ryokans... Well, half of us are Japanese and have experienced staying at many ryokans before, but this place definitely takes the cake for the most unrelaxing ryokan experience we've ever had. It's a terrible shame too because everything else was perfect - the food, the room, the rest of the staff, the town, all the onsens... all amazing! And one of the couples in our group even got engaged while we were there! If it weren't for the one lady, it would have been a magical stay.
