"About 12-minute walk from Yonezawa station. Hotel is on the quiet side of town it seems. The shops and eating places are on the other side of station. Yonezawa is called a city but it is very quiet with not many cars on the roads. Many beef restaurants in front of the station; station building had no eating places, only one convenience store and two omiyage [souvenir] shops. Stumbled onto a department store during our exploration; it had 4-5 floors and it was quite sad to see there were very very few customers. On one floor, my group was the only customers . "
