Best Budget resort”
Absolutely loved the stay. Place is so tranquil and beautiful you just want to stay in it forever. The bamboo huts are beautiful but a little old. Property has its own private beautiful beach.

Worth for Money”
Havelock is full of Expensive beach side resorts but with Havelock you get a private beach in a reasonable price. Although the beach is small but surrounding mangroves makes it more beautiful. I didn't book a ferry to Neil in advance so had to book my 5 days in this hotel. But after coming here, I anyhow booked the tickets to Neil and the manager here adjusted my stay in their hotel in Neil island. Coming to hotel rooms, every cottage is made from bamboo and wood. If you are looking for 5 star facilities, this place is not for you. It's more of a jungle type resort with tranquility. Will come again

8 days in Emerald Gecko”
We had a two- floor bungalow and was a little home to us! Sheets and towels were clean, breakfast was with options, although there weren’t much people ambient was nice. After a few days actually it was a bit difficult to live with mosquitoes and animals around but we enjoyed.

Close to the beach”
Right by Vijaynagar beach--with breathtaking emerald waters yards away from the premises. Beware the facilities are super basic and rustic--this place is not for the faint hearted. Look elsewhere if you are used to pampered comforts in any way at all.

Nice place with unpleasant encounters with the waiter ”
We spent 4 nights at Emerald Gecko and had a pleasant stay. We stayed in all kinds of bungalows and huts and felt quite comfortable in all of them. They are simple but well equipped with a mosquito net over the bed and provide a nice atmosphere. Breakfast and dinner was absolutely great and most of the employees were very accommodating and helpful. There is filtered water and internet close to the reception. Unfortunately we had two unpleasant encounters with a waiter in the bistro. He was not very polite or friendly and laughed at us at different occasions. The service was very slow and he seemed to ignore us on purpose at times. One evening we chose to have dinner somewhere else because of him. We are not quick to complain, but having dinner like this was very unpleasant. The last evening we tried our luck again but were equally disappointed. At checkout we voiced our discomfort about this, but did not get a proper reaction. Apart from this singular experience Emerald Gecko is easily highly recommendable.

the best bamboo bangalow ”
the awesome stay, the best bungalows and beachside area to stay. The staff is very courteous however they are minimal in number. The lockdown affects the resorts as the restaurant is closed for dinner. We need to have a portion of food before in the main lane cafes. The stay must be more enjoyable when resort is fully functional. we misses that part due to partial open after lockdown.

Staying in Bamboo Huts on the Beach is Exceptional”
Emerald Gecko- Havelock is an exception resort. It is not a resort with luxury amenities but a place to cherish for those who likes to enjoy the nature and staying within it. It has got wooden single & duplex huts with only basic amenities. No AC. Though AC not required in winters but cant comment on summers. Power cuts happens often. Its surrounded with coconut trees and has ample open space. Has got an open Hut type Restaurant in center of the courtyard, serving exotic foods. I would really give A+ to the chef. The sea food platter was excellent. The biggest advantage of this resort is that it has a private beach also & all huts facing towards beach. So, combining all, I would say its one of the best place for vacation for those who likes staying within nature and out of the busy cities. All staffs are good and cooperative. I would only recommend the management to fit a dressing table/mirror on the upper story of duplex huts. One should carry mosquito coils for sure.

The stay was comfortable, the staff is courteous, polite and helpful. People who like luxury and cannot avoid TV and mobiles must avoid this place. It is hugging the beach. Must try out food at Gecko and adjoining areas (Anju Coco, Kathmandu resort, Kerala Cafe, Munjoh, Bonova Cafe and Pub). Eco friendly, good for long beach walks, Must carry snorkelling equipment.
