Best GuestHouseBedAndBreakfast in Hokkaido Prefecture

Great location, 2 minutes walk from ski lifts. Lots of character, the whole place has a homely feel that is great to come back to after a long day skiing. Fantastic staff, they have limited English but are very friendly and helpful. If we visit Furano again (and we'd love to!!) we would stay here again without hesitation.

Breakfast is superb delicious. Cooked with local seasonal ingredients. The best breakfast in Hokkaido. Love it to the max. Staff are friendly too. View from pension and nightly starry sky are those can't be get from normal hotel stay. To those who love quiet and extraordinary stay, this is the place

My friend and I stayed here for three nights and were very comfortable. The hostel is not large but still felt spacious enough to be social in the communal area. It hostel is kept very clean and has everything you need, although there is only one shower, this did not prove to be a problem and both my friend and I were able to shower when we needed. My friend and I c...

It was an amazing experience during my stay in Hokkaido. The owner was from Osaka but decided to move to Hokkaido for sake of the peaceful countryside. You can order dinner and breakfast from the hotel whose value for money is nice. After dinner we had a fun beer party with other guests from all over the world, most of whom were skiers. The next day I was heading for B...

Location: It's a stone throw away from the Annupuri gondola and is pretty easy to find. Once you get off the bus at Annupuri, just head left to the Gondola and turn right when you almost reach the gondola. The yellow house is the frying pan. Food and service: I stayed there for 3 nights and had a very good time. There is a reason why it's called Frying Paan. The food ...

Stayed there for 3 nights. Owner (Toshi-San), is very helpful. But he doesn't really speak English. (Try google translate) Clean and comfortable room with breakfast included. Location is pretty secluded which is good for me. Slightly hard to find the place at night when it's snowing. Cafes are within 15mins from pension.. Would recommend this place!!! UPS!!!

We drove from Chitose airport and checked-in before nightfall. Parking spaces were behind the building. The tatami-styled room was suitable for our family of 2 adults, 1 child and 1 infant. The whole place was very clean and in pretty good condition. The down side was that the room was a bit stuffy in mid-summer as only a square fan was available. There was only 1 shar...

This place is further than the rest of the other hotels in Abashiri, but the owner is very nice and friendly elderly gentleman. To get there: turn left when you get out of the station and keep walking down the main road until you pass a restaurant with a crab sign (about 200m). Keep walking a bit further then take the next left, and walk down that street to cross the ...

Before I arrived the guest house I read that the guest house is far from the station and easier if by car. But surprisingly it's not that far. But a bit tired because there's a road to temple that uphill. The guesthouse is so lovely, Japanese-style with tatami room. The view from guest house is fantastic. I arrived earlier from check in time and I asked if I can leave...

~10mins walk from JR station, the hostel was not difficult to find. Owner of hostel was very welcoming, tried to explain to guests about different sightseeing sites in Hokodate with the best English he had. Appreciating! The house was no longer new but obviously under good care. Seldom could I see such a luxurious design not in a hotel, but an ordinary Japanese-run h...

Booked three nights for private room, but when check in,the owner gave me a room with two bunk beds room, that's great,no problem for me,room is clean, the house has two shared toilet and one shower room(at the 1st floor).it has dining room kitchen and rest room etc.the location is quite good, there's a tram pass by,the station is omachi, once alighting from the tram, turn b...

-best location near JR train station (chitose) but not busy because it's located in residential area -very nice and helpful staff (he is owner) -clean and relax space in plcae like homestay where u share space with local owner -only one thing i want to complain is just justy 1 restroom for upper floor -overall is very perfect and it was great time I slept in this trip(...

This is an amazing Lodge/backpackers, very spacious and clean. The dorm rooms are big and open, yet have a sense of privacy. The only downside is that it is a long ways from the rest of Niseko with very limited public transportation options. If you are going to have your own car then this place is the best I've stayed in Niseko for its price.

The owners are very adorable and warm hearted. We talked a lot during the stay. Also, they can fetch all guests to ski area for free. The breakfast time was set at 8 am LOL a bit strict but this is what a guest house feels like. And!!! The breakfast!!! Pretty, Tasty, Healthy. After the dinner we went to a hot spring. It is only five minutes walk and we got a coupon fr...

We stayed at Alpine Central for 4 nights. Jenna and Rhys were very helpful and accommodating. We arrived late and Rhys came to pick us up from Kutchan station even though it’s after his working hours. He even sent us to the convenience store as all the restaurants were closed. Accommodation was cozy and there was a communal washing machine. The lounge was a good wa...

Not for people who like to complain. I enjoyed a nice tim in the kotatsu. The host tries to make it as friendly as possible, but you have to consider that it's a cold area and that is not a 5 star hotel. The duve was thick and confortable, the best rest I had in Japan so far.

We had a splendid holiday here. The hotel location is great, just a short walk from the Hirafu Welcome Centre, and the Hirafu Ski Base. There are also many supermarkets and restaurants nearby. The rooms are clean, a bit small though, with daily housekeeping. Buffet breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. Heater works well and Wifi is strong, The view from our r...

We came for one night in Hakodate, and left wanting to stay longer. This pension was a lovely place, the service is excellent and the Japanese style breakfast fantastic. If I ever go back to Hokkaido, I will definitely want to come back and stay for a few nights.

Our room have 3 bed with one at the loft. It is small but that is normal in Japan. The bed is comfortable, a few power socket, air conditioner and radiator heaters are available too. Wifi connection is good. Continental breakfast is served, a simple one but good enough. They have a japanese style bathroom so you will be showering with others but throughout my stay ther...

The guest house was better than I've imagined. The rooms are spacious and clean. However you'll need to share the bathroom with other guest house mates and the distance to the lake is probably not within walking distance. Nevertheless, my family and I still enjoyed staying there.

If you manage to book the hotel cheap then it's a good place to spend a night at Furano. Owner was friendly, even they can't speak English but they were helpful. A very simple place to spent for a night. It's clean, but a bit pricey, with no private toilet; no facility.

This is my first time Travelling solo and staying in a capsule hotel. The lodge exceeded my expectations. Bed was comfy and private. Staffs are friendly and helpful. Resturant serves very delicious dinner. Just a few steps away are the slopes for ski. It was the best experience I've had and I would recommend beginner skiers to start from there! Great Lodge!

This place is awesome. If you're lucky enough to be touring around Hokkaido to ski and/or board, this is a great place to stay. Affordable, privately owned, super kind staff, cool community space. Don't recommend if you have snooty high standards, but the name of the place should tell you that before you read this review. Thank you P-Dash, arigatou gozaimasu

Even though I have to depend on the pick up service, I enjoy the 2 nights staying in Gurigura very much. Esashi and his family make it a dream house. They presist in living a healthy and simple way of life. I enjoy talking, reading and listening to Esashi's guitar with Mary, the lovely Japanese girl we stayed during these days. No matter there was sunny blue sky or s...

I booked a bed at Hokkaido Sun Guest House last minute. The place was nice and cozy -- shared living area/kitchen was large and had a friendly feel. The room was fine, typical of a multi-bed hostel. Had air conditioning. Breakfast was good, you could have different choices of drink (tea, milk, juice, etc), freshly prepared salad, and make your own toast. Staff was frie...

I think it is very cheap, convenient, clean. There is the value of the price. Someone commented like "too small pillow, staff of there was not friendly, room is small". There are a lot of good and more comfortable hotels in Hakodate. If you pay 4 times of the rate of this guest house. I think the guest house is the value of the price. There is nothing to compl...

The staff is nice, they even offer me Hakodate ropeway's ticket with discount. The location is quite far from tram, but easy to find. You can walk by foot from Mt. Hakodate ropeway (around 15-20 minutes). Near hotel you can find seven eleven. There is additional fee for shower and heater on winter season.

The location is very near city. There's limited parking on site. It's first come, first served FOC parking. The owner is very helpful and he tries his very best to explain. He asked about our plans and it's very nice of him to advised us not to go My Hakodate when we arrived as the view would be very cloudy. Would definitely stay at this place again if we come back to...

Definitely a MUST stay guest house in Abashiri. You can experience a stay in a farm house. The room we are staying is very clean and nicely decorated. Owner is super nice, she likes to talk to the guest, although our Japanese is not that good, and in the morning, she makes coffee for us. Can park for free in front of their house. With this price, it's really worth...

Not too far from the city - require to travel about 500m gravel road to reach the stay, still manageable with a typical Japanese small vehicles. No visible signage, just turn left at the junction and you will see the lovely house surrounded by greens. Host is friendly and speaks brief English. Clean room as expected, ours is really spacious where we can open up our ...

We were on a road trip in Hokkaido hence have no issue finding Cottage Wakiaiai. Cottage is well equipped and very clean. Bed is very comfortable and warm. There is a nice outdoor seating for breakfast. Owner provide warm and scrumptious japanese style breakfast at a reasonable cost. Will definitely come back again!

Very nice lovely house with 3 separated big rooms, 2 showering rooms, 3 restrooms and a huge, warm living room with a cute furnace. The house rental includes a 6-seats van. It helps us to go to all 4 ski areas freely and conveniently. Cleaning is done carefully. All kinds of functioning perfectly electrical appliances are ready in the house, including those you've se...

We are very grateful to stay at Guest House Shikotsu Kamui. The staffs are super friendly and helpful. The cleanliness is beyond our expectation. They have all the facilities you need. Instant noodles and fully equipped kitchen will save you from being hungry at night. Hair dryer and hair curler will save all the ladies out there. Its location is great just a walking d...

The owners and staff are very friendly and approachable who made you feel really like being in a "Guest House" than a simple hostel. It's a relatively small property than normal hostel, which is why it's a more "homey" place to stay. As a single traveler, the stay at this Guest House made my journey more enjoyable because I could have someone to share the journey with ...

Much differ from the other guest houses and hotels. You can experience to stay the one of topical houses in Sapporo! The owners are very friendly, nice people around. I recommend this place if you are interested in having a opportunity to be a part of such a enjoyable time.

Only expected a place to crash for a night but meeting the host made it one of the more memorable experiences in Hokkaido. It was great talking to them. Just super positive vibes! This guest house is also very very clean--just completely spotless. Much more than all the rest in Sapporo in the same price rang. I was told the bed sheets were 100% linen! It was super comf...

This just opened last August 2014 so everything is new. All the amenities are complete and very clean. I availed a bottom bunk bed in a female dormitory of 8. A locker and key are provided to keep your important belongings safe. You can also rent towels and other amenities for cheap prices. The bed and pillows were really soft and comfortable. The bathroom was really...

Best place I’ve stayed in Hokkaido. Warm breakfast in the morning served by their friendly staffs. Only had an issue when the staff was not at the counter all the time. Had questions but staff was not at the counter reception since 9.30pm, rang the bell thrice and waited til 10pm still no response

I stayed in this house with my friends (total 6 persons) in late Nov. We drove to the house by GPS which was easily found. Although the outlook of the house was very traditional, its facilitates are very modern and well-equipped. The house is very tidy and clean. You can almost find whatever you need in the house. There are 4 rooms in the upper floor. Although the...

Location is away from Biei and accessible by car close by Blue Pond. It is just along the road with street lights and not hard to identify. The owner is courteous and friendly, showed us around. Our room is big enough and basic, quiet even it’s next to the road. Hotel is dated but is clean and I dun mind because it gives a nostalgia feeling of the old travelling days. ...

The place is really nice and cozy. We love the view of the Mount Tokachi mountain range from the place. Being far from the main streets, we also got to see an impressive starry night and falling stars at night. The breakfast and Dutch Oven dinner served by the owner and his wife were also delicious and lovely. Would recommend the place to any traveller looking for a qu...

It was really an amazing travel. I only have two days to book flight and hotel when I got my total one week vacation. There is no any information and I never been Niseko, so I just find this hotel close to Annupuri ski area. Hotel extremely new and clean, they wait me when I arrive very late 10PM and help me everything. Free drinks, coffee, good room air condition, of ...

Great place to access the great hot springs all over the town of Noboribetsu. You can see the place from the Noboribetsu (JR) station - it's a 2 minute walk. The Guest House owner is super chill and gave great recommendations. From the Noboribetsu station you can easily catch a bus (to and from) all day to the area where all the hot springs/fancy hotels are. The ho...

Deeply appreciated that I was reminded of the weather conditions before hiking. Onsen hotels just opposite to the hostel, remember to take a discount coupon at the hostel for a day trip onsen bath. 5 min walk to the convenience store and the ropeway station. In-house beef curry - must try if you like Japanese curry.

Guest house is very good. Room locate on the second floor of the building but there is no escalator . So you may have a little problem if you bring large luggage. Room is very clean and comfortable . Recommend for group of 6 person. There is no breakfast but there are 7-11 near the guest house. Host is very friendly even though she can’t speak English.
