Best GuestHouseBedAndBreakfast in West Bengal
I am not sure from where should I start writing this review but probably by an extremely strong recommendation to Agoda to remove this so called guest house from their inventory. This would only bring about negative impression of Agoda in general. You are welcome to book Alipore if you like staying in slumps. I would have preferred staying in streets if I hadn't paid ...
The place is really hard to find, but when you get there its really nice. The staff is so friendly and their english is really good. When we got there at first they made us breakfast and we could check in, even before time. They did everything to made us comfortable. Even the manager came by to small talk.
I really don't recommend this guest house to anyone. They are not nice. Wifi never works. In the evening, i was coming back my room, 11pm, and the front door was closed. No ring bell, nothing. I was there almost an hour trying the hear me. Happy to wake up in the morning and change place. I found, a few meters away, another guest house, better and cheaper.
Originally booked a night here as it is almost next door to the Sikkim tourism office, but I as very happy with the hotel and its location so booked another 3 nights later. Rooms including bathrooms were in good condition and everything worked well (a/c, hot water, etc.). Price seemed very reasonable considering city centre location and quality. The rooms I got are on ...
the charge is almost same as the other guest houses, one thing, if i said, is that you can book this guest house through the internet. it is very effective if you came to kolkata around or after midnght.
This is a lovely quiet comfortable guest house. The staff were extremely helpful and served me breakfast at 5:30am as I had an early flight. I was able to order a meal and have it in my room on my late arrival. I would highly recommend this guest house.
We were impressed from the time we arrived at 233 Park St till the time we left. The rooms are large and beautifully decorated in antique Indian furnishings collected by the family over a period of 40 years. It's the small touches that made this place stand out - the fact they greeted us with open arms at 1am in the morning, the platter of local sweets we were given, b...
I was in the Sunflower Guest House only for Mother Teresa. The Guest House is simple but clean.
This guest house could do with better directions. The junction is well known but the final 50m proves rather difficult. 10 people couldn't help including tuktuk drivers, shop managers, random people or vegetable and fruit sellers .. In the end it took a phone call from a kind passerby to actually get me to the place. Just as a bit of help: It's set back off the main VI...
alfons really takes care of guests and the view and location are great!
This is my second time staying in capital guest house. The last time we stay in the hotel on 16th February, Friday just the day after Pulwama attack on Kasmir. I can understand the emotion of Indian people for that, and we are mourn and sad for this issue. but one of the hotel staff of front desk trying to start a conversation with me and just said all of the Muslims ...
The staff here are very pleasant, I checked out of another guest house I was staying at because of awful conditions, this hotel was clean with good staff. It's a bit away from most places you might want to go to daily but you get a look at the real Calcutta the moment you walk out of the front gate. I'd stay here again without hesitation.
Good service, 3 star standard, very clean, comfortable beds, clean toilets, very nice breakfast, decent food with average price, very good staff, reception and manager. Free wifi in the lobby. Will definitely recommend this hotel. Only negative: it is 5 mins from chowrastha but that 5 minutes will be bit painful so 1 star less for the location and cheapest room is...
It is always hard to find a well maintained hotel in India. Sagar was very clean at the beginning but I have to say it has something to work on his cleanness. It is not dirty. But it is easy to find stains on bed sheet and dust on the floor. But after all, Sagar is still a good place to stay.
A group of three of us stayed at the Shire during 25th December, 2016 to the 28th. The property is located perfectly at a 15 minute's walk from the centre of town. Quite a few of the popular tourist attractions are all within a short distance of the property as follows: 1. Pine View Nursery (famous cactus nursery housing rare and beautiful cactii) 10 minutes walk 2. ...
Harrington Residency is a magical remain of India's post-colonialism bygone days. The grand balcony is filled with plants and inviting couplings of leisure chairs which lead to HR's two guestrooms and breakfast nook. This is an ideal base from which to explore colonial Calcutta and quietly relax with a glass of wine and conversation while it may not be the most efficie...
It's really difficult to write this review; a couple of things would not let me give 'excellent' for all the above. Positives - the guesthouse is near the airport; it takes minutes to get there or from. Great. The staff at the hotel are really friendly. Great. The room I was was spacious and clean. Super. Negatives......some outside the guesthouse control some wi...
I am almost reluctant to write this review in fear that too many people will become aware of this place in that it will be impossible to book-it already is quite hard to get in.The guest house is decorated is impeccable. Located in a residential neighborhood yet a very short distance of the centers of interest, I would not stay anywhere else.
Con artists. Avoid if possible.
I had to book this property at around 11.30 PM and went to the place after 20 minutes. Primarily, they were hesitating to let us check-in. But considering this as booking through Agoda, checking our IDs and seeing my mother and my 3 years' old nephew (we booked 2 rooms for 5 persons including the baby) they let us check-in. With this little disappointment we checked in...
Economical and decent place, I was offered a non a/c room with attached bathroom. Mattress could have been more soft
hotels conditions is extremely unhealthy, all windows are permanently blocked & there is no ventilation, extremely dirty & bad smelly. Staff are not friendly, can’t speak fluently.
Best location in town, Very helpful and Friendly Staff
Good
Tranquil location, stunning gardens, friendly staff, excellent vegetarian food. But the building itself could stand some maintenance and the living and dining rooms are somewhat ''cold.'' Could easily be made much cozier and atmospheric without losing authentic character. And they should immediately get rid of the only beer they served -- the American Budweiser, whi...
Me came Kolkata for court marriage and as a foreigner I had very nice experience with this hotel. Very tasty and fullfill breakfast, yummy food here tried. Me and my fiancé had a very big room and nice view, sunshine whole room as i love the light for sun. Still prefer a better bed for couples in the room as we made mess on bed. Hope the staffs forgive us about that...
Hotel needs lots of renovation and facilities. They should make use of the available space more intelligently to offer more comfort to customers.
so would be adding multiple charging points in the room. on the plus, the filtered water is safe to drink. with a little bit care, this could become a great place to stay.
This was a great little spot on the hill away from the main town. Easy walking distance access to HMI, zoo, ropeway, etc. The food was AMAZING. I'd stay here again just to eat here again. The owner and family went out of their way to make sure we were taken care of, including adjusting meal times, buying train tickets and delivering them to our next hotel, transportin...
