Lovely oasis to retreat to.”
This is our second time at Ancient House Resort and it did not disappoint. Loved the cool towels every time we walked in. Beautiful pool area and surroundings. There is a short 10 min walk to the old town. If you get the chance take a walk across the first bridge and head towards the river. First thing in the morning there are great sights. Just across the bridge there is also a great little restaurant - Nhan's Kitchen 167 Tran Nhan Tong St. Great local food. We had the Whole Red Snapper, eggplant and vegetarian pizza and all dishes were delicious. Rebecca provided great service and even "thanked us for our happiness".

The hotel is lovely and staff and facilities excellent. However I think they should and could improve the food. Breakfast hot food was cold. Also too many noodles. The sausages were not nice. Bacon should not be cold nor should the noodles.

This is a lovely quiet hotel with heritage value”
Ancient House Cua Dai Road Hoi An This is definitely not an upmarket hotel but rather one of warmth and charm. We chose a spacious airy room with a garden view and breakfasted in a lovely upstairs dining area which also overlooked the main garden. We arrived in the midst of torrential rains so there were signs of water inside as well as out – no leaking roofs, but bathmats were used to catch wet feet at the entrance to our room and umbrellas were available. Hoi An has a history of flooding it seems. As the rains cleared a team of staff worked cheerfully and tirelessly to restore the freshness of our surrounds. The pool, grounds and passageways sparkled as the sun shone. Our friends thought it was quite like staying in Bali. Ancient House provides an excellent shuttle bus service to and from the centre of Hoi An but we sometimes walked. Taxis too are a cheap, readily available option. We were actually pleased to be staying away from the steamy centre of town. First evening we enjoyed a delicious bowl of pho across the road from Ancient House. It was prepared and served by a lovely young woman who also offered a laundry service.

Perfect way to end a backpacking holiday!!”
After travelling around Vietnam and Thailand we finished our holiday in Hoi An and decided to stay at The Ancient House Resort. First impressions were fantastic as the receptionist was extremely helpful and welcoming. They were a bit slow at getting us to our rooms however we had just got off a long flight and were being a bit impatient. We were staying with 3 other couples and although we all paid roughly the same, some of the rooms were much better than the others so If there is an option of booking a slightly better room for only a couple of $ more then definitely do it! The upgrade will be well worth it! The garden and pool area was large and enjoyable to laze about in. After a couple of weeks of Asian food we fancied some simple western food like chips, burgers, pizzas etc and we decided to order some at the pool one day. Don’t do it! The food was dry, bland and a total waste of money. However the breakfast on offer in the morning is delicious and chefs were on hand to make omelettes, pancakes and crepes. For the money it was 100% worthwhile and although we got taxis around the area they were so cheap it wasn’t an issue.

Wonderful Stay!”
Had only one night at Hoi An Ancient House Resort. The lobby areas hide the true beauty of the resort. Walking towards our room we were in awe as we saw how beautiful this place is. Nice and clean room, there was even rose petals on the bed. We were very well treated by their helpful and polite staff. Other than coffee and tea, we even had fruits in our room. It's been wonderful.I got much more than I deserve. The experience is great and if ever I were to return to Hoi An, I am only coming back to staying at Ancient House Resort.

Excellent and unique hotel with attentive service.”
We go back here again and again; we have visited Hoi An countless times and this is undoubtedly the best hotel in town. Its design evokes the ancient town itself, each room part of a stylised town house alonga meandering street that also includes the (very small) pool and which ends in the 'ancient house' itself, where rice paper is still made the in the traditional way each morning. The rooms are well-equipped and designed in minimalist greys, white and black with huge marble baths. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, the shuttle bus convenient and its driver extremely helpful. The hotel is situated along the main road between old town and beach (a third of the way out of town towards the beach), an easy walk or bicycle ride (bicycles are provided free of charge. This might sound like a paid-for review but it's not; I'm just a very impressed guest!

Outstanding time at Ancient House, Hoi An”
Ancient House was a fantastic experience, very restful & a great bargain for the low cost. The staff is exemplary & Ms Van was tremendous, helping with train & airline tickets, arranging tours, etc. I am reccommending Ancient house to all my family & friends that visit might Vietnam. The whole country was much nicer than I expected & Ancient house was the icing on the cake! The beach was fantastic & free shuttle service made everything easy. shopping in Hoi An was a treat if you enjoy haggling. the historic areas were very nice. Only a short drive from Danang, Hoi An reminds me of what Destin Florida was like 30 years ago, before all the condos blotted out the landscape. If you are looking for a relaxing stay in central Vietnam area, this is the place to escape to!

Nice place to stay”
We have stayed at the Ancient House Resort twice and have really enjoyed the ambience of this hotel. Although a lot of the rooms are joined it is still very private. The staff are friendly and very accomodating of all our needs. The rooms are set amongst beautiful gardens and it is nice and quiet so you can sleep - unlike a lot of other hotels in Hoi An!! It is close enough to walk to town ( approx 10-15 mins) or only $1-$2 to get a cab which the hotel will call for you. There are many restaurants along the street and also one on site. This resort is suitable for everyone from families, business trip, honeymoon and holiday. We love it!!

Ancient House Resort- just lovely!”
Loved the location. Easy walking, cycling distance to the old town. The free bikes available at the hotel are great. We really enjoyed our breakfast, especially the fresh fruit. The staff at breakfast and Front desk were wonderful - very good service, even when the hotel was busy. A special thank you to Oanh went out of her way to make our stay comfortable. Have never experienced service like this at a hotel before. Loved the pool too. We will definitely come back to Hoi An Ancient House Resort.

Great service, great location, lovely pool”
I have stayed many times at Ancient house and will always go back. Friendly and helpful staff and a good location midway between the beach and downtown Hoi An. Bikes are free of use for hotel guests and I ride it down to Soul Kitchen restaurant at Amban Beach as well as the spot that Ancient House has on the Cai dau beach at Goby restaurant. It's 3Km from Ancient House to the beach, and about the same the other way to the town of Hoi An. The pool is also nice at Ancient House and the complimentary wifi in the rooms is great.

Lovely hotel!!”
ancient house resort was by far the best hotel we stayed in south east asia. we arrived after a long day of travelling and the lovely gentleman at the front desk said that we had been upgraded twice to a "special room"! the room was massive and very clean, with bananas and coffee - very nice touch. hotel offered free shuttles to the beach and hoi an town, although we never used this service. we used the free bicycles one night to explore the riverside, very fun. pool was perfect afternoon passtime. overall, no way to fault this hotel.

Our stay at Ancient House Resort was exceptional. From the moment we walked in the door we were made to feel welcome and provided with information on the facilities and what services were available to us throughout our stay. Great hotel, great location”
I have stayed at Ancient House many times and love it there. It has become my little home away from home in Hoi An. They have free bike rental to ride to the beach. They own a lovely spot on the beach by Goby. We also like to ride to Am Bon Beach and go to dinner at Soul Kitchen. Ancient House is a short walk into the main Hoi An town centre also. Well located between the town and the beach and rooms are at a very reasonable price.

Luxury at a good price”
We stayed in the Ancient House in Hoi An for 4 nights. The room was excellent! A lot of space, nice bed, good bathroom, small terras in front of the house and free to use laptop and internet in the room. The breakfast was the best we have had during our 3 week stay in Vietnam. You could choose between a combination of Vietnamese, English or Continental breakfast. By bike it was easy to go to beach club and lay at the beach or go to the center of Hoi An. There were also free shuttle buses driving. In short this was an excellent hotel to relax, enjoy the comfort of a good room and breakfast and still be able to visit Hoi An and its surroundings.

VERY RELAXING”
We were on a short holiday to relax and unwind. The Ancient House suited this purpose perfectly an our room was spacious and clean. The staff were most helpful and I enjoyed the buffet breakfast which was included in the room price. They provided a courtesy bus to take you into Hoi An town but if you like walking you could easily walk or ride the free bicycles supplied by the hotel. Would definitely recommend.

Excellent hotel to be stayed!”
This is the most satisfying hotel that I had stayed during my vacation in Vietnam. Located not very far from the Hoi An town center (10 minutes of bicycle ride). The environment is great and there is really an ancient house existed inside the hotel vicinity. The residents there are making some kind of rice products following the traditional way. One thing most commendable about this hotel is they provide laptop (with internet connection of course) in the room!!

Ancient House Resort was a nice way to stay in Hoi An. Old Town was only a 20 minute walk and the Ancient House was a nice reprieve from the hustle and grit of the town. A polished check-in with fresh fruit juice, polite efficient staff, complimentary bicycles, tasteful rooms, pleasant breakfast, a fantastic courtyard but typical Vietnamese plumbing. Sitting on the toilet was a bit of an event, as every once in a while the toilet would “burp” and spit water up from its depths. Not the most pleasant way to get a spring in your step in the morning. This is a product of poor venting in the plumbing system. Building codes are not such a bad thing, inconvenient at times but well worth it for safety and comfort. We would stay again especially after we learned the trick of flushing the toilet before we sat on it.
