Staff was so lovely!”
We really enjoyed our stay in Takayama thanks to the owner of the hostel, Taku-san. From the moment we arrived, he was warm, funny, and welcoming. He had great suggestions on what to go and do, in the surrounding area. Taku-san very kindly offered to take us up to Kamikochi on our first day in his car. The hotel itself is Japanese-style, with comfy beds and clean amenities.
Very nice and cozy hostel! ”
The hostel provided very useful information ,like restaurants/shops nearby, for us while we checked-in. The hosts were very kind and hospitable all the time! Room and the whole environment were super clean and with nice view of garden from inner. Don’t miss it!
Cosy, clean and hospitable. ”
Such warm and friendly service with exceptional utilities and a cosy and clean bedroom. The only recommendation is an extra pillow for each guest for comfort purposes. Thank you so much for your hospitality!
Excellent experience”
Pros: This place is a great option if on a budget. It is simple and clean. The family is helpful and kind. They have many suggestions and maps to accommodate your needs. We even learned how to make origami from them! Overall, this place is awesome. Con: The only con I have is that the bed was quite hard and made it difficult for me to sleep. However, having lived in Japan, I have noticed this is often the case at most places. The location is close enough to the old town area that you can walk. About 10-15min.
One of the best place I have ever stayed ”
The location was quite good, within walking distance from the train station. There's also an AEON Mall and several convenience stores nearby. The place itself is so beautiful. Clean, modern and yet still "Japanese". The shared bathroom are kept spotless and the common area is great because there's a fridge and stove so you can cook your own meals if you want to. The host is a great guy who went through our itinerary with us and helped us check on bus timings.
