Getting much better since Typhoon”
I have now stayed at Don Felipe Hotel 3 times since the Typhoon. Every visit you can see the improvements. The WiFi is great now and the staff as always is very good. I hope by my next visit they have the lift working. I have trouble with stairs.

Budget holiday”
The hotel is ok for the price, you get what u pay for. Tried to book the Sabin hotel but was fully booked ,,will try to book it for next year ,as it's the best hotel in ormoc ,ormoc villa hotel is good to. But I little bit more expensive than the Don Felipe, but it's ok for the price. Next to the port and in the town centre.

Nice hotel in Ormoc”
There are only few hotels in Ormoc which offer good accomodation. The Don Felipe has fairly good rooms and also restaurant service is OK. Location is best, very near to the pier for the ferry to Cebu.

Satisfied”
It was my first time to come home to Ormoc after more than a decade. I wanted to familiarize the streets and establishments, and HDF was a great starting point. It was a breeze upon check-in; the staff was friendly. Room, sheets, toilet were all clean. Everything was working properly -- aircon, tv (except the remote control), hot shower, faucet, flush. Furnitures like cabinets, desks, and the bed were outdated or old, but it didn't bother me at all. I paid less than 1500 only for 2 nights, so it was a good deal.

Old, basic, but very convenient ”
People can complain all they want about Don Felipe, but the bottom line is that it is an old hotel that has been kept up reasonably well (very well for local standards) and is in a GREAT location for transiting people. Keep your expectations low and you will be fine. The location in Ormoc could not be better. You can walk just about anywhere and the sea if just out the front door.

ormoc as a town ”
Have stayed several times so am not just visit once and forget , my girlfriend lives in ormoc so no town very well . hotel still recovering from typhoon Yolanda top 2 floors still not in use .reception and front desk area clean and tidy, however as you progress into hotel standards very poor . back stair well needs redecorating just a lick of paint would transform. Hotel now 25 years old. Front desk windows cleaned regularly. Remainder of windows never cleaned since installed. Hotel restaurant. Avoid. Unfriendly staff and by ormoc standards. Very expensive. Coke can in ormoc on average 30 pesos. Son Felipe restaurant 60 pesos.staff and security guard on reception very good and chamber maids also brilliant .

good value for money”
Very satisfying. Only criticism was poor TV signal, no Wi-Fi in rooms. I understand Ormoc City is still recovering from typhoon Yolanda. Very helpful staff.

Good location. Nice restaurant. ”
Ok. So this place needs some upgrades in the rooms as they are very dated. Apart from this. The rooms were a good size. Tv. Wifi. Shower worked well. Bed was comfortable. The staff were friendly and the restaurant served decent food for a fair price. It is walking distance to ferry terminal and located close to the centre of the city. If you can forget about the old dated rooms then This hotel is not as bad as some of the reviews. I would definitely stay here again. Very cheap and worth the money.

Awesome view for the money”
I did not expect much. This hotel looks like it's seen better days. It is in fact old and shabby around the edges. However, my room was clean, everything worked, and had a fantastic view of the sea. Room service was quick and courteous. Also, can't beat paying PHP 145 (around $3) for a plate of pasta good for two. It wasn't the best tasting pasta I've had, but it hit the spot after long travel. Highly recommended!

Very close to transport”
My stay in don felipe hotel satisfied my need as it is very close to transport and accessible to the places that I want to go. Close to markets and close to the friends that I wanted to visit.

Room in upgraded section”
This was our 2nd stay at the hotel, but this time we were upgraded to the "newer" section of the hotel, and it was so much nicer. The less expensive older section is ok for a quick stay over, but the newer section had bigger rooms, and nicely decorated. However, one big drawback is the disco down below. Bring earplugs, as the music pounds til 6am...yes...6am! Luckily I did bring them and had no problem sleeping. Refrigerator is nice and the aircon comfortable. Not so keen about the restaurant below, but there are lots within walking distance.

Not many choices in this city”
The room was extremely small. I paid 750 pesos per night and thought it was small. The beds were uncomfortable as well. However, the hotel staff is friendly, courteous and very prompt with service. Unfortunately, that's not where you sleep. The room was bordering a side Main Street and was loud all night. The hotel looks like it was wrecked by a typhoon but they never got to fixing it up. If you can live with those issues you'll have a fairly clean small and decent priced room in a prime location in ormoc city. Why anyone would go to ormoc is beyond me.

Close to Ormoc port”
This hotel is a 3 minute walk from Ormoc port. It's pretty good value for money. We think its the best value for the money in Ormoc.

Not fancy, but safe and good location”
This is an older hotel in the city and it does show its age, but not in a terrible way. Yes, there are areas that should be maintained better, but it feels like it should considering the age. The room was absolutely simple, even the white pasty wall color. But if you are just there to sleep, that should not make a difference. Bathroom was ok, and shower was warm. Although there is a restaurant at the bottom, there are plenty of places to walk for food. Location is great....a walk on the boardwalk is right outside the door and toward the other side is the main terminal for the vans and buses to almost any place in the Philippines. Price is cheap and I will stay again.
