Very cost-effective and comfortable hotel”
A better choice than staying in a small room in Tokyo. This hotel in Chiba is located just a 5-minute walk from JR Kaihin-Makuhari Station. The area is spacious and bright with many restaurants to choose from. There is also a drugstore in the station if you need it. If you want to go to a larger shopping mall, Aeon is nearby and within walking distance. It takes about an hour to get to Tokyo from Kaihin-Makuhari Station and about 30 minutes to get to Disney's Maihama Station. The hotel room is a decent size and clean. There is WiFi, a coin-operated laundry, and an airport shuttle bus at the entrance that goes to both Haneda and Narita airports. You can request a timetable from the front desk.
"I'm glad it's close to the station ^ - ^"”
It was convenient to be close to the Kaihin Makuhari Station, and I was grateful for it. They were able to hold my luggage from early morning, and the staff were very kind. During check-in, there were about 10 people in line, which made me even more tired... I was surprised by the sound of the toilet flushing, haha. I would like to stay here again next time. Thank you for everything.
Charming little hotel with perfect location and great service that takes you back down memory lane without sacrificing modern conveniences”
As a first time visitor to Japan who speaks almost no Japanese, this hotel was an integral part of the best trip I ever had in a long time. The hotel consists of two buildings, the main building and the annex, which is accessible from the outside until 11pm and then is only accessible by a passageway from the main building. The entire hotel is decorated in an old-fashioned yet tasteful way, it would have been grand back in its time but still feels pleasant and endearing today. Some aspects of the hotel's age are apparent. For example, instead of a key card, an actual physical key is given (the card is only to activate the lights in the room). But this does not in any way detract from one's enjoyment. The room was decorated and furnished simply with a touch of tasteful luxury. The facilities all worked fine. Hot and cold water came from the respective taps instantly. The heated toilet seat and bidet were a blessing (we were there during a cold spell). Beds were comfortable. There was a control panel in between the two beds where USB ports were installed for phone charging (interesting to see in a bedside table that looked like something from the 80s!), as well as to control the lighting and room temperature. The room heating was wonderful and welcome, we stayed warm throughout the cold nights. The electric kettle works fine, and there is a little "amenity buffet" table just outside the elevator in the main building, where one can collect all sorts of items such as shavers, toothbrushes as well as instant coffee or tea packs. Service was excellent throughout. The front desk staff speak just enough English that communication was not a problem at all, and though many of the other staff we encountered throughout the hotel couldn't speak English at all, the language barrier was never a problem as they were all extremely polite and patient and willing to go the extra mile to try to comprehend what we wanted. The location is fantastic. A five-minute walk from the JR Kaihimmakuhari Station, and by catching a train there you can reach Tokyo Station or Shinjuku Station in downtown Tokyo in under 45 minutes. We were in Japan partly for an event held at Makuhari Messe, a huge exhibition venue, which is just a 15-minute walk from the hotel. The area is considered a slightly upscale business district but not the touristy sort. The Mitsui Outlet Park is also nearby, a place where many famous brands can be found, but I found the myriad smaller malls in the area more appealing. They were truly very local, down to earth places and were home to a whole range of restaurants and eateries to suit every budget. The environment was lovely. There are a couple of nice parks, gardens and beaches in the area, including the Makuhari Seaside Park just behind the hotel, which can be seen from the elevator in the annex. If you're lucky, you'll even get a room where you can see Mount Fuji in the distance! (It is a little-known fact that Mount Fuji can be seen from the Makuhari district) Walking away from the hotel and towards the railway station and malls, the area is bustling throughout the day, yet never overwhelmingly crowded or noisy. Later at night, it is quite quiet and peaceful, and at the same time, extremely safe - we never felt any issue walking around even in the early hours. There are at least three 24-hour convenience stores in very close proximity to the hotel, and more in the general area. The only thing I could not rate the hotel fully on are its facilities. It didn't affect my stay in the least, but anyone planning a stay there should not expect a very comprehensive range of facilities. Check out the hotel website for what's available. There was a business co-working space on the ground floor of the annex which will be useful for anyone who has to do some work while on a trip there, and I did end up having to do some work too, but in fact, it was good enough to sit in an armchair in the lobby of the opulently-decorated annex! The hot
Top-notch service, elegant atmosphere and accessible to bus and train stations. ”
Checking-in was simple and pleasant. They have beautiful elevators, that I always look forward to using it - day or night! The room was clean and comfortable. Comprehensive travel amenities were provided before you get into you room and the staff was amazing. They went over and beyond to help make my stay enjoyable - front desk was kind to accept my online orders that arrived before I checked-in/not at my room. Every staff I met was pleasant and accommodating across all floors. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Makuhari. Just a few blocks away to Mitsui Outlet Park which is fantastic! It was so convenient to go back and forth to shop and eat. Close to public transport, convenience stores and restaurants. There's even a bus station just outside the lobby to pick you up going to Narita airport. Coin-operated laundry, and various vendor machines are assigned on different floors of the hotel. Front desk was even courteous enough to assist you if you don't have coins available. Overall a fantastic experience.
Perfect location”
The place was 3 minutes walk from the station, 5 minutes stroll to the outlet mall & another nice shopping mall Plena. The staff was very nice. There were 8 of us in 4 rooms and they arranged it so we can all stay on the ninth floor. All the rooms were nice and clean. The only ' minus' was the Buffet breakfast location. The original restaurant which looked so spacious and beautiful on their website was being renovated so we had to stay at the Chinese Restaurant. It was not designed for buffets so we were either very far from the food or had to stay in a tight place to be near it. Overall, I would come back here if I am ever visiting Makuhari again.
