Hotels near Hin Ta & Hin Yai Rocks

i wanted to take my girlfriend on a holiday that would take her breath away. although i did keep the hotel a surprise (and may have even played it down on the way there!) the entire experience upon arrival; the location, hotel grounds, service, private beach/bay, and finally the awe inspiring villa itself ended up bringing her to tears of joy and gratitude - mission accomplished! you'll see why she had this reaction when you get there. value is everything to me. whatever i pay, if it's a little or a lot, i expect to get what i paid for. if it is a little, i expect little and i am happy with anything extra. if i pay more though, my expectations grow. i wanted to avoid all of the "fakes" that pretend to be 5 star, but was at first nervous about paying my way out of the nerves associated with poor quality...my bank account usually doesn't permit me to do so. having been to banyan tree bangkok, and now banyan tree koh samui.... i don't regret a thing. pros: everything. might sound over the top.. but it is everything you see in all of the pictures and more. we were in a villa that was almost at the top of the mountain and had uninterrupted views of the southern coast of koh samui. it was completely private (it was clearly designed to be this way), and very peaceful. every whim had been thought of and provided. the grounds are huge and you can get complimentary buggy rides wherever you need to go (breakfast, private beach, lobby etc). our host (butler?) was very helpful, and all staff speak english very well. hammock, 2 different sets of sun beds on either side of the villa, 3 separate divisions in the villa (lounge area, bedroom, and bathroom). fresh fruit every day. extensive menu for both in room or restaurant dining. "activities" every day!!! yoga at sunrise/sunset, snorkelling, kayaking etc etc... all complimentary!!! the breakfast was typical of banyan tree, completely decadent and wide ranging. everything you could want at an extremely high standard

The hotel is nice. It should be more than 2.5 star - more like 3.5. Always quiet. Nice pool, nice beach, good beds, great sized room and balcony and aircon to spare. Beach/pool towels that you could change for clean ones whenever you wanted. Big rain/sun umbrellas in the room. The Wifi is less than OK. TV - typical Thai hotel. The area is great, lots of restaurants nearby. Shopping, travel agents that do it all, places to rent motorbikes, laundry etc. The receptionist was hostile - we couldn’t bring her around no matter how hard we tried. We finally just avoided her, then she was pissed we didn’t do more business with her/the hotel. She seemed to always be working - maybe why she’s so cranky. We could only get scalding hot or ice cold in the shower/bath, although you could get warm in the sink. When we asked about it at reception, (see above) she spoke to a gardener who replied in Thai. Translation? That’s right, hot or cold, that’s how it comes. Suck it up, buttercup. Good luck explaining the hot/cold mix that makes warm. Transportation is expensive on Ko Samui - a songthau that would cost 10 baht in Hua Hin is 100 baht here - double after dark. They’re all driving around empty - go figure. Taxi’s also, so arrange it beforehand through whoever you’re arranging your ferry/hotel etc. Lomprayah charges 150 baht per person for what would be a 700-1000 baht taxi ride. We didn’t see any motorcycle taxis in Lamai, nor tuktuks. Motorbikes are cheap 200 baht per day, but be careful - lots of people going the wrong way down one way streets, excessive speed, drunk drivers etc.

Very warm and cozy hotel that is near the beach. Warm and courteous service around the clock. The hotel is an hour's stroll on the beach from Hin Ta and Hin Yai. If you go over the weekends, its also near the weekly walking street where you can find lotsa yummy street foods and interesting souvenirs. Its also near the food market and Tesco Lamai. Food selections at the hotel's breakfast is limited though. Wish they had more variety!

Very helpful staff, I got sick on my first day and the hotel staff took care of me to the max they took me to the hospital and made sure everything was ok with me, they kept asking about me and send me complementary food and drinks for the rest of my stay although I was sick only for one day... honestly the best treatment ever from hotel staff. 5 stars standard. Very clean. Good location. Good food. Extremely helpful staff. Definitely I’ll stay there again on my next trip to Samui.

Who knew that a cheap and cheerful hotel could be so good! This was our 3rd hotel in Samui(we enjoy beach hopping), and probably our favourite, better than the 5 stars we previously stayed in. The hotel's staff are so friendly, attentive and courteous and their service was at par with 5 star hotels. Hotel is located within a 5-10 mins walk to Lamai beach. The rooms were very big and super clean. The pool was small but very clean. Will definitely return. Kudos!

This is one of the best hotels I have stayed in the owner is the nicest guy you can never ask for and will do anything for you the hotel is in a great location and 2 mins walk to the bars and restaurants 5 mins to the beach the hotel has only been open 2 months and will not disappoint in any way staff are brilliant and I am definitely going to stay there again book book book

it was my second time i was staying in this lovely hotel. the hotel is around 1 minute walk to the beach (just accross the small road through the seebreeze bungalows area) rather in the south of lamai. you will have breakfast a the seabreeze beach bungalow area what is accross the road directly at the lamai beach. really awesome, having breakfast at the beach! don't expect a buffet for breakfast but it's ok (american or thai breakfast with fruit, but you can choose from the whole menu if you wish). the beach in this area of lamai is gorgeous and perfectly suited for swimmming (much better than in north of lamai). there are some chairs free of charge at the beach (not enough in high season when it's crowed). but, there are lovely spots at the beach under palmtrees and other tropical trees. perfect places in the shadow where you can relax. the whole staff of this hotel is lovely and nice. especially the receptionists are very helpful and try to fulfil your desires. the room itself is very clean and comfortable. the beds are really unbeatable (and i am demanding regarding this). the mattress are rather hard but still comfortable. for me the best bed i ever had in thailand! the rooms are indeed as they look like on the pictures (with a good shower!) i recommend the rooms in the 2 and 3 floor, because of they are very quiet (first floor can be a bit noisy when tourists walk to their rooms). the pool is enough big for a little swimm and is gorgeous with lying chairs around it. to lamai center is around 5-10 minutes walk, perfect. i will definitely come back to that hotel. highly recommended. also suited for people with higher demands (as well as for travellers).

Fantastic trip in Samui. My Wife, 2 kids and I stayed in Koh Samui 11days, we stayed in Renaissance Resort the last six days. Very appreciated the best professional service provided by Renaissance, FANTASTIC! Hotel Checkin, welcome ice cream for my kids. We just have to sitting in corner sofa, a young German girl gave a hotel introduction, and arrange everything for us, and leading us to the room. The hotel staffs are thinking quite upfront, provide the best service before I request. Everyone, employees in resort, are very kindness and friendly, we feel comfort and relax. Thank you very much the whole team of Renaissance and General Manager, your performance is complimented. I definitely recommend this hotel to all travelers.. Worth! Quiet! Friendly staffs! My suggestion: this hotel only provides a small room for kids, actually, no one be there, as only several story books offers, and nothing. It may be better, change the location of kids club to another place (inside hotel garden), as right now, this kid room is alongside the main road, not really safe. And hotel may held more kids funny activities, e.g. Painting class, DIY lesson, etc...we are willing to join the kids club, if provided by hotel, more fun for kids, andsetup some playground, seesaw, swing... Nice villa on the beach, breakfast is brought to your veranda every morning so you can enjoy the sea view. Staff are really nice and very helpful. However, the beach is disappearing every time I go there and after a storm there is no way to get to the beach - shame. I would be very reluctant to book the 2 bedroom villa because the noise of music from the new bar next door is too loud. I like this place.

Hotel was really close to beach (2min walk?), and it was near to many restaurants and bars, but it was really quiet at night. Every sunday there is really nice night market near. Hotel room was big and clean. Staff was really nice and knew everything, you can book trips or ferry tickets straight from the hotel, or rent a motorbike. Only ''bad'' thing to say that there wasn't breakfast (we knew it when we booked it) and you have to walk littlebit to get something to eat. Best breakfast was near at Brown Sugar restaurant. ...But there was free coffee and tea at reception :)

I have stayed in most of the hotels in Samui, this is one of the best, its not a family hotel, and the pool is average, but if you like going out during the day and just having some where nice to stay and come back to , this is the spot. The location is excellent, close to everything but not near noisy bars. The staff are very nice. There is not dining, but there are excellent restaurants near by and more fun than eating at hotel. The rooms are very unusual design, a sort of cut granite rock including the shower, very unusual and nice. Better to ask for room with walk in shower, no ones like baths when on holiday in Thailand. Book through Agoda for first 2 days then speak to boss lady, she will match the Agoda price if you wish to stay longer. Only complaint is there was a gap on the sliding doors for the balcony, make sure to use curtain to block in night in case of mosquito. All in all nice staff, very friendly, relaxing, nice rooms and also safe in room, central location in Lamai, 5 min walk to beach.

We booked 3 rooms at this place as 2 bookings, so I'll leave 2 copies of the same review. The host - Nong - was very friendly and helpful, and many other hosts should learn from her. Her English is quite good - and that's rare in Thailand at least based on our experience. The hotel is located rather close to the main night activities (bars, etc) but it's a bit off the road and the rooms face the opposite direction, so you don't hear much noise from the bars. On the other hand, the electricity wires are so close to some of the rooms and they sing all the time like cicadas. Not very good, but ok. The beach is around 10 minutes walking. There are many cafes and restaurants, a street food market, supermarkets are everywhere. If you walk 5-10 minutes South via the main road you'll find cheaper cafes with good food (one of them is "Kangaroo"). Nong has bikes for rent, and the big supermarket (Tesco Lotus) is around 1.2km from the hotel. Overall, we're very happy about our stay here.

Stopped here whilst in the lamai area, was very cheap and the room did not disappoint. Was a good size, with an ensuite. The best feature of this hotel was the staff, the lad behind the counter was very helpful, he showed me the sky TV set up in the rooms, and even hired me out a scooter without taking my passport. For me this was a bargain hotel with great service. The only problem I'm sad to say is the bed was like a rock, may as well slept in the floor. Sorry

We booked 2 nights and ended up staying 5! If you put the sign to clean your room, it will get clean but gotta put the sign or else it wiill not. Daily water bottles re filled clean towels shower gel and shampoo. 10 min walk to beautiful beach, great breakfast spot 2 mins away called Fabrique (i think) this hotel is so worth the money!! Great experience! The only thing is lil ants around but seriously no biggie! A/C was strong and worked well! Laundry service availible! 2 staff members split the shifts and always availible willing to help, both are nice but the women speaks better english

on arrival staff didnt speak hardly any english and we wwere just gioven a key andpointed in the diorection of the room, which isnt too bad. when we seen the 'Bungalow' which was more like a garden shed we started to worry. we opened the door and found lizards in our room, it was boiling hot and A/C was broken and blowing out hot air. you could just about stand around the bed it was that small! the bathroom was so old and dirty i wouldnt have let my dog in there! looking on our booking form where it stated we had booked a room with A/C, TV, fridge and was suppose to be deluxe we complained and they told us we were wrong even though it was right in front of them in black and white. they argued for over 15minutes and then called someone else who also stood around treating us like we were stupid and telling us we were wrong again they had the paper in their hand to say the room they hadnt goiven us was wrong. we ened up calling of my english phone which cost a fortune luckily sorted the problem and we were moved rooms but the male owner stamped around and was ver aggressive about calling and telling them they were indeed wrong. the whole time we were there we had stares and didnt go anywhere but our bungalow when on the site.

I had a good time at the K.T Samui Residence. The room was clean and bright, food was tasty and had good value for the money. I used some of the services the hotel is offering like the laundry service, airport transfer or scooter rental. The prizes were the same as the best offers throughout the island and there was nothing to complain about. The staff all together are very friendly and can speak English. The distance to the beach is not too far and the part of the beach at the hotel is nice and not too crowded. The pool is not really a pool, though. It is very small and might be interesting for kids, but adults will probably not go in there at all. Not a must have in my point of view, as I like to go for a swim in the sea anyway.
