Find hotels in Long Beach

It was really best hotel I have ever stay before! Not 5, 6 or 7 stars!!! So nice and stylish, everything is made of wood, room is amazing (superior room): really huge with a soft bed, coffee machine and several varieties of tea and coffee, cookies and many snacks, aroma lamp with a pleasant lemongrass smell. When I have arrived- senior manager met me and showed everything they have (private island with a transfer and kayaking, pool, gym, sauna, spa...). When I decided to have kayaking- staff had transfered me to a private island waited for me all the time I was there. After kayaking when I came back to my room I had found there 2 desserts for me and my honey. Great surprise!! So, if you are still not sure which hotel to choose- this one is really the BEST hotel in Koh Chang!! I recommend!!!!!! The second 5 stars hotel in Koh Chang Amari is much worse!! We had compared it both, Amari concedes on many criterias.

I will start with one advantage/disadvantage, it is at the end of the island on east coast, so if you like quiet it's perfect, but if you like lots of tourist pubs, lots of people than it is wrong place. All the rest I think for the price is the best you can get, the level of room was 3 star hotel (in Germany), clean, we paid cheapest rate and we got at the begging better room than standard. The whole place is on the water, with great view. Staff took us with boat to the beach, where we stayed just with one more guy if you want to leave it you just rent a motorbike and you can see the island. We visited whole island and in my opinion, the best beach is long beach, the most natural, to this beach this is the closest place. And last thing, food is just amazing, not the cheapest, but comparing to european prices it's effordable for the quality.

We stayed over a week at Island View – lots of time to unwind. Definitely take the day long boat trip (500 baht per person) to see nearby beaches and do some snorkeling – you need four people but Dieter will match you up with someone if he can. There are kayaks on offer for free so you can paddle over to a really lovely beach (20-30 minutes depending on the conditions). We went once by kayak and once with another couple on the small powerboat (500 baht all in) and spent the day. You can swim off the dock and the water seemed to always be very clean but there is no beach right there and while you're on the water you have to travel to find sand. We very much enjoyed the food – everything was cooked fresh so when the dining area was busy it could take a while, but the food was delicious. Do try the whole fish specialty – it was great. There are bikes for free as well - make sure to book them ahead - to ride into the town, see the Temple, walk around the mangrove forest and visit the ATM. You have to pay IN CASH - no credit cards are accepted - and the ATM only worked with a VISA card, not a bank card - so be warned. It sometimes doesn't have money and then you'll have to rent a scooter (250 baht) and go to another ATM more up island and if you want to see the beaches on the other side of the island, this is the way to do it. It was great to be somewhere without crowds so if you're after a low key, laid back place on Ko Chang I'd highly recommend it.

By using 3 day holidays, I went to Koh Chang alone. As I used Public bus and boats, it took long long time. From my condo in Bangkok to the hotel, it took almost half a day. As I arrived Koh Chang, the shuttle taxi service was already finished, I should hire a taki, but it took 1,000 bahts, as I didn't know how to go hotel, I relunctantly should pay for hiring car. Moreover, the car driver didn't take me to a hotel and just dropped me. I was totally loss where I was. The neighbor show owner called the hotel for me, and the hotel owner picked up me. The staying hotel was totally excellent. As there was almost no shop, night life place, I just relaxed at staying hotel and the beach around the hotel. The owner told me to call for the arrangent of picking me to the pier, if no more taxi. The Wai Chak beach is just 1 hour away from the hotel. To arrive the beach, I should treck in the mountain for one hour. It was exciting memory. In the beach, nobody comes, I relaxed to stay half a day. As it was the rainy season, the color of ocean was not good, and always rain and storm. However, beach itself was quite wonderful. I want to go to this hotel again in the dry season. Besides, breakfast was also wonderful. I enjoyed everyday.

A quiet, beautiful and truely exotic bay, mangrove forests, jingle jungle. I spent here my best days at this asian journey. "Picasjo House" is a small masterpiece of art. The hotel provided me a kayak and I visited distant secret beaches and small deserted islands (it takes about 1,5 hours to get to Lanoya islands). It was easy to spend whole day in the sea after tasty and rich breakfast. An evening with an hospitable and warm-hearted hosts at Picasjo coffeeshop was a perfect end of the day. Even if you intended to live on west side beaches, take motorbike and go to Salakphet for a couple days. That could be an unforgettable adventure, if you're strong enough to get that this place holds.

We stayed one night at this sweet little resort, situated right on the beach front. The bungalows are nestled amidst lovely and well-kept grounds. Watching the sunset while having dinner was incredible! The staff were friendly, although did not speak much English. There was a bit of miscommunication at breakfast but all ended well. The villas are sweet and simple - clean, well maintained and have everything you need. A great stay.

After arriving at Koh Chang, the Song Tao driver took me to the wrong side of the island and after he realised he drive off and left me in the middle of nowhere. After othe Song Tao drivers refused to take me because it was far and too late, i rang the hotel and spoke to the owner Niko. He said the same thing as the Song Tao drivers, but made me the very generous offer of letting me start my holiday from the next day so i didnt lose any money. I rented a scooter and drove to the hotel the next day. It took around 1 hour 30 minutes to drive there, but the route was very scenic.The east side of the island is very beautiful and secluded, not many foreigners go there. When i arrived at the hotel i spoke to Niko for a while, he is a very friendly man and was very welcoming. The bungalow i stayed in was very beautifully crafted and sat above a fishpond. I opted for a fan bungalow, this was perfectly fine as i was out during the day when it was hot, and it was cool at night as it was by water. The staff are very friendly and drove me to and from their newly opened karaoke bar. All in all i enjoyed my stay here very much and would highly recommend this resort.
