"Overall really happy we chose florist resort. Originally I only booked the standard Ac room for 3 nights to get the free airport pickup, then I wanted the option to switch if we didn't like it. We ended up staying for 5 more nights. Room: Initially we were skeptical since we walked in and there were tons of mosquitoes in the room. There were some small gaps in the door so we were scared we were going to get ambushed at night. We killed all the mosquitoes and I'm happy to say the room was pretty mosquito free from that point on.The room is clean which is most important, the furniture and towels are old and worn. But, for what we paid, I think its fine as they were clean. the staff should consider cleaning the dead mosquito bodies off the wall though. Breakfast: its included with the room. Standard stuff... every morning I had watermelon, pineapple, instant coffee, toast, Bacon, and a plain omelette (made to order). You can also get oj, cereal and eggs done other ways. Restaurant: food is decent. Not the best not the worst, not the most expensive, not the cheapest. We would usually get lunch there, then eat at arun@samui for dinner or somewhere else in town. Arun has amazing, high quality, cheap Thai food (first restaurant on the left after the long dirt road). Staff: nice and attentive. They all seem like extremely hard workers to make florist resort nice. Maenam beach: we went mid may and it was awesome. Very few people there. My husband and I were the only ones chilling at the beach in front of our resort most everyday. No idea what others at our hotel were doing... maybe the pool? Florist should fix their beach chairs though. Some were broken. After beachtime I would go get a massage from bliss u spa. Toy is sooooooo nice. Left side from the street right off the beach close to the resort."

"We stayed 4 days at the Ampha Place Hotel. Our original plan involved renting scooters and exploring more of the island, but we actually ended up loving Mae Nam beach so much we spent our time relaxing and enjoying the sun and water. I woke up before sunrise one morning and got some great pictures when nobody was outside. The beach itself is a nice, long stretch with nice sand. Because it's a quieter beach, there are fewer people, and it's quite clean. It's lined with people outside offering Thai massages, and there is also a nice cluster of bars and restaurants with great good. The water and sand are nice. Because of the proximity of the beach, we did not swim in the pool, but it looked very clean and had others swimming in it. They also have an outdoor shower (one shower head) right there so you can rinse sand off from the beach before you go up to your room. The main road is a short walk from the hotel as well, and on Thursday we stumbled on a little night market not far from the hotel. It was about two blocks, and it didn't compare to some of the huge markets in big cities in Thailand, but the skewers, coconut ice cream, and other street food there was legit. There were also two local laundry services which were great, and there's a coin laundry (no dryers) within walking distance on the main road. The location of the hotel along with its price make it an excellent value! When it comes to food, they only have a breakfast menu, but it's offered all day. We did have one day our room wasn't cleaned, but this was due to a miscommunication with the cleaning staff. Just lost in translation. We spoke with the staff the next day, and the problem was solved! Another highlight is that we originally miscalculated our location and got stuck at an internet cafe a distance away. We called the hotel using Skype, and they sent a neighbor out to pick us up for free! The friendliness and service would make this hotel a place we would return to. "

"Located on relatively remote and quiet Maenam beach, the Amarin (Victoria) Resort seemed a good choice regarding all the good comments on the internet. It is situated on the main ring road leading around Koh Samui. Therefore there is traffic around the clock, but, of course, way less than at busy Chaweng beach. The lobby is spacious, the bar offering good drinks at reasonable prices and the hotel is quite modern with polished concrete walls decorated with photographies and art. The room seemed perfect at first sight. Breakfast area on 5th floor is vast and they provide really good thai food for the ones that can deal with thai dishes early in the morning, but also continental breakfast. The rooftop pool is nice, clean, but with a lot of chlorine. What was actually a bit shocking was the view from our room. Actually it wasn´t a view at all - we faced a kind of dirty, black mouldy wall maybe 2 meters away from the balcony edge. Even if you lean out to the left there ain´t much to see apart from a dirty building and a back yard. The aircon was placed on the balcony, so there was only little space left for two chairs and a small table. Not very inviting to sit outside at all. Just suitable for having a smoke, not more. Unfortunately they could not provide a room with the way better view to the mountain side. Keep that in mind when booking otherwise you will end up facing a really dirty wall ! The staff was quite friendly, but they seem to lack of professional personell. It seems that they don´t have time for proper cleaning, as shelves and corners have not been cleaned during our stay. All in all good vale for the money if you don´t mind the non-existing view we had to enjoy. "

"We have stayed at all the 5 Star resort on Koh Samui and this is one of the best by far. The resort is older but extremely well kept and the staff, some have been there for many years are excellent. The swimming pool is huge and there is a very nice kids pool. The bungalow/villa style accommodation is spacious and very comfortable and has everything you need. The breakfast is excellent and there is a good selection to keep just about everyone happy. Maenam beach is one of the good ones. It's North facing which means it face Koh Phangan which is nice to look over at. It's one of the few beaches on Samui you can run down the sand and dive into the water without hitting coral or rocks. This is a very large piece of flat land and great for kids of all ages. The gym is good, open from 6.00 am which is handy. It has everything you need for a workout, there are two tennis courts, one grass. My only gripe is the cost of the food. This is an expensive place to eat in. The beach cafe and the restaurants are all expensive. We live on Samui and eat everywhere and Santaburi although we love it, the food is definitely overpriced. Don't get me wrong the quality is excellent but it is pricey by ANY standards, especially 5 star Thai. We did eat in a few times but there are so many good places close by we recommend you eat elsewhere."

"Experiencing by luck a special promotion night due occupancy, I got so lucky to spend a short stay there Everything near dream, from pick-up to check -in an amazing reception sala, kindness, caring and profesionalism of staff to the extraordinary duplex private pool villa for surely 1/3rd of a normal price of the best rated 5* around whom cannot technically compete such privacy and set up !!! Views are there very exceptional with a river along the villa, the beach 50 Meters away, the ocean and look over the Island of Koh Phangan nearby. I enjoyed an exceptional butler service as well brought at any wished time to the privacy of your villa. privacy but not surrounded as usual by walls !! No one could see me but I could enjoy the view around from the master bedroom balcony in the evening with a nice glass of wine. breakfast was brought as well at the villa on time and succulent, diner was also available to be delivered in the living room set as a dining one under request but I prefered to have a walk 300 Meters away to a nice little street of Maenam center where I could find all kinds of restaurants. I specially appreciated the expresso coffee machine and various coffees at my free disposal and the unbeliavable decorated shower half outside to enjoy the tropical weather and the sight of the coconut and mango trees around overlightened by the sky stars. Dream also completed by the cocooned atmosphere and the decoration set as being the only Gallery hotel in Thailand together with the amazing swimming pool multicoloured from the evening through the night by rotating lightening spots Inside !!! For sure any guest like me will definitely come back many times, I recommand especially for couples and of course honeymooners for a one life time experience "

"This was a nice resort, small and cosey. I stayed in a simple fan bungalow and loved it. I thought i might get too hot w/ no ac but actually one nite i was a little chilly and needed a blanket. Being close to the beach it was great and going in Feb. the weather was mild. The beach here at maenam is very beautiful and the water was great for swimming. There is a great view of Koh Phangan from the beach too. At night me and my friend were able to catch crabs on the beach and see some small fish close to shore. The resort has a nice bar/restaurant with good food. There is a 7/11 and familymart only a 5min walk away. Although this is a small and quiet beach we did find plenty to do and did lots of relaxing."
