"We were happy and very satisfied with our stay at the Sunlight Guest Hotel in Puerto Princesa. The airport shuttle was there as soon as we got off the plane and was a short drive to the hotel and our return to the airport by a new and aircon van was very prompt and quick. Our deluxe room was huge and the big bathroom has a separate bath tub (with spa. Breakfast has a wide variety and has a selection of local fares, as well as continental, complete with cakes and local desserts and fresh tropical fruits. Bathroom supplies are replenished every day (with free toothbrushes, razors, etc.)Local tours e.g. to Subterranian River at St. Paul National Park can be arranged at the hotel. Guests should not miss this natural wonder which is around 2 hrs by airconed coach plus boat rides. You can go around the city (which has a lot of restaurants e.g. Jollibee,Chowking,KFC,McDonalds, etc.)by tricycle or jeepneys. There are no taxis in Puerto. Big shopping mall is within the building and public market is nearby. I will definitely stay here again."

"Decorated with local/native style crafts, materials, art, and people. 5 stars in the local sense, not the Hilton sense. Small rooms, cozy, and everything worked, Air Conditioner, WIFI, phone, lights, etc. Hardwood floor in the room, quite unique as it slightly creaks as you walk :-). The bed was exceptional mattress, pillows and covers, great sleeping, queen size in our room. (Not the usual foam mattress and pillows usually found in PH) Location: Quiet, and a one block walk to the Baywalk where fresh seafood and local dishes await, a treat for Filipinos and visitors alike. Stroll and enjoy a nice evening. Breakfast was included and adequate, freshly cooked, brewed coffee a plus. Getting around: Trikes cost 10 Pesos per person in town, 60 Pesos to the airport, the Hotel has free transfers for the airport however. A motorbike rental is located at the hotel if you wish to explore. Staff: Very pleasant and helpful with tours and shopping suggestions. 5 Stars. Tours, we did the Underground River and Honda Bay, both OK, heavily organized, book at the front desk. Hint, use plenty of sunblock., and a hat. Further: Puerto Princesa is but a small part of Palawan, some world class beaches and resorts remain hidden and unspoiled."

"PROS: -free airport pickup -clean rooms -accessible from the airport (we even walked from the City Baywalk park to the hotel one night. It was in a safe neighbourhood.) -nice tv with cable channels -good room airconditioning -with balcony view -helpful owners -very accommodating staff -they have a bakery downstairs -reasonable van rental fee -reasonable underground tour fee (they offered a discount for our family of 6) -provided extra towels -complimentary breakfast -free water!! (There's a hot & cold water dispenser on each floor. No need for us to buy bottled water outside.) -nice viewing deck at the top floor where daily breakfast is being served Our stay was amazing! They went out of their way to provide excellent service..like that one time when Ka Lui Restaurant required reservation and we were running late, so they had to call the restaurant again and requested to wait for us. The restaurant agreed but until 8:30pm only, so the owner's son asked their van driver to send us to the place WITHOUT any charge. Thank you again for that!! And the owner, Mrs. Mendoza, has always been humble and helpful. She provided lots of recommendations to me and my parents. And even helped in our request to obtain some 'daing.' CON: slower wifi during nighttime (sometimes, it doesn't reach our room. I have to go down the lobby.) Despite the slower wifi at night though, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Dad's Bayview to anyone who is planning to make a trip to Puerto Princesa. Very much worth it! Thank you so much to the Mendoza family! God bless u all!"

"Absolutely loved it here. The staff (mainly the owners Ferdinand and Norma) were absolutely wonderful. I don't think I have had such great service in any other budget accommodations. They were friendly, helpful, and very genuine. The breakfast was also amazing - something different each day and was always filling and delicious. The place is new (built in 2013) and the accommodations are very comfortable. Great location close to the city centre - can walk to everything. Overall, I would highly recommend this homestay to anyone travelling through Puerto Princesa! "

"This hotel has a very good location, and is a 2-3 min walk away from the bay walk. It's clean, affordable and is located beside a supermarket. The only issue I have is the strong smell of bleach in the bathroom, which made the entire room smell. Other than that, I found everything else pleasant including the friendly staff. "

"We checked-in on Dec 24. In the middle of the night, a pleasant unexpected Christmas Eve dinner (noche buena as they call it) was delivered to my room c/w a bottle of sparkling Red Wine and a token gift given to us by the hotel management. Two days later, again another unexpected cake was given to us for celebrating my wedding anniversary. Hey I wouldn't mind if I will pay for those surprises but it's real, free of any charges. Aside from being a budget friendly place, the location is perfect, being near to almost everything and yet there are no disturbing sound at night. The foam and pillows are great and room space is average. The staff was wonderful and the property Manager was very caring. What more can I ask for !!! It's a great place to stay and would not hesitate to book here on my next visit to Palawan."

"Our reservation includes airport transfer and breakfast. When we arrived at PPS airport, i had to call the hotel to remind them that they are to pick us up. Although our flight arrived 10 mins earlier than scheduled, all other hotel service vans were already there except ours. Good thing it was only around 15 mins from the airport. The hotel is centrally located, near the park, stores, restaurants, bars. Once you go out the hotel, you can easily hail a tricycle to bring you where you want to go. Our breakfast was good. We chose danggit and tocino with egg and rice for our breakfast for 2 days. It comes with coffee/tea/milo. I tried to contact the hotel before purchasing from agoda, i specifically reserved the triple occupancy at the ground floor of the main building. However, when we arrived there we were led to the second floor where the triple occupancy room is too small - no spaces in between the 3 beds. The manager said that someone occupying the room we requested extended their stay so we cannot have it. Of course, this was not okay with us. Good thing he offered a better room (family room near dining area of the second floor). The manager was accommodating in the sense that he offered to call Kahlui to reserve us a table. But come the night of the reservation, no table was available for us! We had to wait for 20 mins before we could get in. If you are on a tight budget, this hotel is okay. But if you've good spare, please just spend more for your comfort than ruin your vacation."
