"Sans Souci Samui was such a great find! I was so happy to be conveniently located on the Chaweng main strip and on the beach, but away from the loud bars. It seemed like we were located just at the end of the strip and walking only 2-5min to get to things. I liked very much being in a quieter area and also have the private beach! We did not stay in a room in the main building but rather in a separate room, which felt like we had our own little studio apartment almost! (without kitchen of course, but still a minifridge). The room itself was cozy and clean. The staff was very friendly and accommodating with general questions and helping with directions and the best way to get to certain places on the island. The only complaint about the room is that we were supposed to have a king sized bed, but our bed was in fact, 2 twin beds put together -which was fine but its a little awkward to have that crack in the middle of the bed even though the beds were fitted together and did not separate or come apart. Also they were good, comfortable mattresses. Being a couple it was inevitable that one of us was always sleeping partially on the seam! The hotel provided van/driver service which was pretty pricey! 600b/hr, but it was nice and convenient when we wanted to tour all of the temples -some of which would have been hard to get to using public transport and taxis. We were not brave enough to rent motor bikes -which the hotel also had. I highly recommend staying here if you don't want to be on a noisy part of Chaweng. I found that the prices for Thai massages were at least 50b less than the main area, and probably the restaurants were a lil more reasonably priced too. Petchbuncha Muay Thai stadium was just a 15min walk away but you can easily take a taxi or motor bike taxi there if you don't want to walk. "

"Stayed in many hotels in Koh samui and this one is by far the best among the 3 star hotels. Comfortable bed, very clean room, and an amazing roof bar. 23$ for a double room is a great deal.. Unluckily, the hotel was booked out and I had to stay in other hotels of the same price category, not even comparable with Cheeky Monkey.. So highly recomended. "

"I spent Christmas at the First Beach Bungalow hotel and it was my first time in Ko Samui. I'll be honest and say that my first impression of the hotel was not great. The reception felt cluttered and unorganised and nobody really guided me or introduced themselves. The reception staff through-out the holiday were rather blunt/rude and would point in a general direction when I asked where something was rather than showing me or giving me polite instructions. THIS was my only negative observation of this hotel as the positives FAR out-weighed the crappy reception. Here's what I loved; The Rooms: I stayed in the deluxe wing and the rooms were very large and comfortable. The air-con was not activated by the key so you could run the aircon all day and come back to a nice cool room. The Balcony was great and I often sat on it and ate food or read a book. The bathtub was fantastic but I did find operating the shower clunky and annoying as it would turn off and switch to the bath but that could be due to me being clumsy. The staff (excluding reception): The room staff were so friendly and would leave us flowers and little notes wishing us happy new year etc. The restaurant staff (especially at the beach) were super nice and really looked after us. The Beach: We could walk out of our room and be on the beach in 2 minutes and the beach was fantastic. it wasn't to busy and you never got hassled by vendoes trying to sell you items. I swam everyday and loved it. The Facilities: The pool was great, the gym was fantastic and the hotel had plenty of massage shops and deli's within the complex so you never had to venture far away if you were feeling lazy. I did wish that a salon was nearby but that's no fault of the hotels. The food: I ate breakfast practically everyday and loved it. The food was varied eveyrday and top quality. The room service menu was limited but was delicious. The steak was one of the best I had all holiday and surpassed many that I ate in to"

"Samui First house is located at the far south end of Chaweng, but it is still close enough to all the action if you would like to walk 20 to 30 minutes to the central area of the beach. There are jeepneys rolling by the hotel complex all the time so it's easy to get anywhere you want to go. There are also a few restaurants nearby within closer walking distance. There are a couple of massage places to choose from on the hotel grounds. The hotel breakfast is buffet English style with lots of fresh fruit served until 10AM. My only real complaint about my stay here is that the scooter touts got a little annoying by the end of the week, but I suppose that happens everywhere you go along Chaweng. Overall, I was very satisfied with the hotel and was happy to be far enough from central Chaweng so I wouldn't have to listen to the recurring Muay Thai boxing announcements along the main road."

"The Samui Paradise Chaweng is a lovely hotel on probably the best spot on Chaweng Beach. The beach is quiet and clean with comfortable beach chairs and umbrellas, definitely not wall to wall people, a very friendly staff and the most delicious banana and watermelon shakes which are available at the hotel restaurant/bar. The resort is small and beautifully laid out. The rooms are comfortable with enough amenities. The beds are comfortable. There is plenty of hot water and the airco is more than adequate. My only real criticism of this hotel is that the Deluxe double bed Villa which I booked for my teenage sons was near the road and not deserving of the description Deluxe Villa. The hotel should not charge the same rate for this Villa as for the other Deluxe Villas which are nicely located. Teenage boys are of course not at all critical in this regard, but the hotel should take the extra noise and lack of nice surroundings into consideration. We only ate dinner at the hotel restaurant one night but did have our lunch there everyday. The food is not cheap but it is very tasty and beautifully prepared."
