"We were free upgraded to Premier Suite. The hotel is the best we stayed while in Thailand. The room is big, clean and many amenities provided. Although it is an old hotel, you will not feel it during your stay. The location is good, nearby Hua Hin night market (although there is nothing much at the night market). The hotel provide free shuttle service to few location during specific time (Hua Hin beach, Cicada night market and others which I have forgotten). The only downside is that if you request the hotel to help you find taxi, they will only help you find an expensive one. This will be a problem for tourist in Hua Hin if you want to visit somewhere far such as Santorini Park as Grab and Uber is not available in Hua Hin yet. Highly recommended."

"Stayed on the 15th floor in a recently renovated superior room. Good room and love the view from up there across Hua Hin. Staff are just great here and are always helpful. The breakfast is fine and quite an extended choice for Thai breakfast options. AFAIK in low season they dont put bacon out and only semi warm fried eggs. If you want bacon and say an omelette then just ask and they will knock up fresh for you. Great large size swimming pool and always clean. Ample secure parking to the rear of hotel. Okay the hotel is not on the beach but its a 10 minute walk away with access points near the hilton hotel and a small street near to Market village shopping center, the latter being a far nicer part of the beach and more peaceful but you can still find food and drink there too. Also the Night Bazaar is about a 15 to 20 minute walk and there is a market right outside the hotel but closed on Tuesdays when I was there. Yes its an old hotel but they try hard and the staff are just great. For the price you pay via Agoda it is probably the best deal you can get for your money in Hua Hin."

"We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. The price was exceptionally cheap and yet the air, internet, and staff performance were all great. This is one of the best 'budget' hotels that we've found in Hua Hin, but also in most of Thailand. The furniture and decor is a bit dated and beat up, but it doesn't detract from the stay at all. Great value for money at this hotel."

"This is our go-to budget hotel in Hua Hin. It's close to the train station and a green 10 Baht bus to the malls can be caught about 2 minutes down the Soi. Rooms are older but brightly painted and everything was sufficient. It's not a luxury hotel. The staff were quite pleasant and we'll return if we have the chance."

"The staff on arrival were particularly welcoming and extremely helpful. Having a one year old son appeared to be the highlight of their day! The rooms have recently been refurbished and for the length of our stay, 4 nights, the deluxe room was large enough for three and the room amenities functioned properly. The location of the hotel, in the centre of Hua Hin, is convenient for shopping, restaurants and the beach. I would recommend this hotel as good value for money. "

"I now stay here every time I come to Hua Hin by myself. If I come with my wife we wouldn't stay here as she wants luxury..... which of course you have to pay for! To me it has all you need, a big bright quiet clean room with air con and Wi-Fi that always works. The room has a fridge/freezer and a water boiler, they supply water so you can make yourself a drink whenever you like. I have tried many other places in and around Hua Hin at similar prices and this place is the best. I always read people's reviews before booking a place, you can build up a pretty good picture of what the place is like. Discount the worst grumblers, be a bit skeptical about the 10/10 reviewers and get a general idea. Reading reviews about the Hua Hin Loft, some complain it is a long way into town it isn't! Everywhere is a long way from some parts of town. For bars the road (Soi) next door - Soi 80 has plenty of bars in it. The loft is probably 10 minutes walk from the Hilton which is on the beach and close to many restaurants. Some people complain about the free breakfast, sure it is simple - eggs freshly made to any style, cereal, toast, salad, sausages and two or three Thai style dishes with fresh coffee and tea. Sorry no back bacon, or lobster.... how much are we paying for this place again?!?!?!? Highly recommended if you know what you are getting!"

"Nice hotel, near to everything. 7-11 just next door, 10min walk to Hua Hin night market, Grand night market and the beach. 15min walk to Market Village(shopping mall) and Baan Khun Por food court at Soi 88. Very friendly staff, converse very well in English. Highly recommended stay in Hua Hin."

"my wife and i stayed here for 10 nights towards the end of a months holiday, touring different parts of thailand. the charelarn hotel has a nicely decorated interior and our ‘superior‘ room was cleaned and given fresh towels and bed linen every day. the staff were friendly and polite, one kind soul even let me use her mobile phone when i needed to phone my wife when she went to nakhon sawan for a couple of days. the breakfast was adequate and you could help yourself to as much or little as you wanted, although i found it better to ask for freshly cooked eggs rather than the ones that were left out on the buffet. the roof-top swimming pool is very nice and kept clean, with good views over hua hin. there were enough sun beds, even though while we were here it was a thai religious holiday weekend (asahara bucha) and very busy. the location is good, quite near the local bars and restaurants, but quite few minutes walk to the sea front where there are some tasty seafood restaurants, you’ll need to walk further along to get to the beach though. the nightly street market is only a few minutes walk away, and there are always plenty of tuk-tuk’s if you want to venture further a field. i like hua hin very much and have stayed in a few hotels here before, all in varying price ranges, but i reckon the charelarn offers very good value for the price paid and i look forward to being able to stay here in the future.
