Roaches!!!”
I love and hate this place. The location couldn’t be any better. MTR and buses are right there. The partial view of the Victoria Harbour from the room was pretty nice. However, I wouldn’t stay there again because my first week there, I had to kill at least 2-3 cockroaches per day inside the room. At the end of the first week, this huge cockroach showed up on the top of the wall (walked on the ceiling at one point). I had to call housekeeping to come get rid of it for me. I called reception right afterwards and requested for another room since I was going to be there for another 1.5 weeks. They were able to switch me to another room shortly after. Kudos to the staff who came to my room with the new key card. The room was on a higher floor, a little bit bigger. Still had cockroaches but not as many as the previous room. The air conditioning was super cold. The moment you walk into the hotel lobby from the street, that’s how cold it will be in your room. The temperature setting obviously didn’t work at all. You could only turn the A/C on and off, and put the fan on low, medium, or high. The vent blows the cold air right to your face when you’re in bed. A couple of days I spent the afternoon in the hotel room - started sneezing and running nose after a couple of hours. Had to turn off the A/C for a while. But due to the crazy heat and humidity in Hong Kong, you can’t really turn off the A/C for a long time. When I was checking in, I was told that they don’t provide daily housekeeping service. If you need it, you’d have to request it at the reception in the morning. However, I realized that housekeeping did come into my room to clear out the trash and get me clean towels on my 4th or 5th day. One time I put up the do not disturb sign while I was out because I didn’t want them to go in, they still went in anyway. That being said, I never lost anything there. Just FYI for those who are skeptical about housekeeping entering their rooms. Overall, if you don’t mind the aged conditions of the room and the roaches, the money is worth it for the location.

The hotel is located in the heart of TST. Very accessible to the A21 bus coming from the airport. Bus would literally stop in front of the hotel. Then front desk is so nice and made us check in even if we arrived at around 1145am. So early than their publisher checkin time. They were very considerate since it was raining when we came. Elevators were spacious and fast. no long waiting time. Rooms were big compared to newer hk hotels. Price was so low. Ref was cold. Made our drinks get cold. Those were the positives about the hotel. Negatives are all about room. It is old, seems like there were molds on the ceilings and walls. blinds, window and the tv are so dirty. it looks like it hasnt been cleaned in a long time. drainage in the shower drains water slowly. no soap dispenser at the sink. im not sure if they sweep or clean the floor since i see some dirt at the floor. I saw one cockroach but not sure if it came from outside or was inside the room already when we came. You have to bring toiletries since the hotel has nothing that is free. Only toilet paper and towels are given. Someone came to spray insecticide to get rid of the insects in there. We were able to sleep even if the bed was on the hard side. sheets doesnt smell or anything. i hope they are clean. It is a good hotel for those looking for a place to just sleep on and on a budget. otherwise just stay on another hotel. I recommend it for those last minute booking and you dont have money already.
