Before 3 PM, during a break at "Michi no Eki Nakatosha," I found and booked accommodation online. It was a solo cycling trip around Shikoku. As I climbed the steep "Nanako Pass" and rode along National Route 382, the sun began to set. The villages I passed had no shops or even vending machines. As I rode down the pitch-black road, I thought, "I won't be able to eat dinner tonight," giving up in frustration as I pedaled hard toward my lodging. After 6 PM, I finally arrived near the accommodation. Only in that area was there a brightness that indicated people were living there. I found a diner that I had given up hope on, which was still open. It turns out they keep it open until 9 PM for guests staying at Kappa Backpackers. The young owner of the lodge moved from Kochi City and is operating the place to revitalize the community. Someone drinking at the diner said that the villagers hold him in high regard. Without even having time to read the email from Kappa Backpackers, the owner of the lodge told me with a dissatisfied look that he was "worried." He might have a short temper, but he’s a likeable guy. If you want to experience the countryside, please consider staying here.

A backpackers' hostel located in the mountains. There is a supermarket nearby, so shopping is possible. The facilities are adequate, and there are no issues. What stood out was the living room of the old house where guests could eat together. There were many foreign guests, and although it may seem strange, it was a fascinating experience to have international交流 in such a remote location.
