Relaxing and rejuvenating”
I really cant rate this hotel enough, after spending some time in Bangkok, to arrive at the Kong Kham Koon was a breath of fresh air. On the Mekong next to the Laos border the restaurant is a great place to have a beer while watching the fisherman do their thing out on the river. The hotel itself is above average but how special the staff and even the owner made me feel will make me sad to leave. Ive never stayed in a non 5 star hotel where the staff seemed so sincere in their efforts to help with any issues I had. I was only going to stay 2 nights but ended up staying for a week. If you are looking for somewhere quiet and out of the way in Thailand I recommend having a look at Pak Khat and of course staying at the Kong Kham Koon.

Great river front rooms”
The view from the deluxe rooms over the river is quite stunning. The room itself was adequate (even within the style and price range), the bathroom was quite good and romm cleanliness acceptable. Breakfast is limited to either rice porridge or toast and jam with instant coffee. Both offerings, while limited were of good quality. The pool area looked nice and the restaurant and breakfast area also had a great river view. I was given a free lift to the bus stop area on Highway 212 when I checked out. I would happily stay at this hotel again. The hotel advertises bicycles for rent but I was told that they have never offered this service when I checked in. Fortunately Pha Kat is quite small and the main centre can easily be walked to in 10 minutes. There are 3 restaurants with river views on the opposite side of the large parking area. The food was Ok but prices more like those charged in a larger city that small town like Pha Kat

Very nice resort”
Very good stay. Do not use the Agoda map location, you will find yourself in a swamp. The hotel is located downtown, near the market and on the river. Turn north at the traffic light and the hotel is located on the river front. Breakfast is below average, but the dinner food is very good. The view of the Mekong River and Laos is outstanding from the river facing rooms and the restaurant. Rooms were old but clean. Would say here again -hotel accepts dogs.

i like this hotel because is very easy to find, this hotel stay at the very good location along by Kong River. Restaurant at the hotel is quite delicious with reasonable price.

Great spot”
A bit off the beaten path which makes it attractive if you have your own transport. Great location right on the mighty Maekong. Restaurant was good at a great price. They had no beer, so one of the waiters went down the road and bought some for me. Language was an issue as I have only a few words of Thai and no Isaan which was spoken there

Improved but work still required”
The VIP room has been renovated as has the pool area. Food is good yet a little too spicy and expensive. Breakfast was poor and all cleared away before 9.00 am. Our stay was ruined by people arriving from Bangkok at 01.00 and partying on the balcony until 04.00. They repeated this a second night so we checked out rather than stay an extra 2 nights. Would stay again but choose a cheaper room with no balcony and just use the hotel as a base.

2nd Stay”
It was our 2nd time here, this time had VIP room which was great value for money. Only negatives were lack of water pressure in shower and for some reason hardly anything on the menu was available but the staff would go out for us and bring food to our room if asked.

Nice view but filthy room”
The location and view are nice however the staff were unfriendly and the room was filthy. There were potato chips etc all under bed, thick dust built up everywhere, scum all around the fridge and just generally dirty. We actually thought is hadn't been made up so asked them to clean it, they straightened the bed sheets and rearranged the towels. Breakfast was pathetic. We ate at one of the river restaurants opposite the big car park next to the hotel and it was really good. Didn't want to eat at the hotel given the cleanliness issue.

Went for a wedding and the hotel was smelly, dirty and crawling with ants I the room. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.

There is no deluxe about the deluxe room and vip is the same only slightly bigger”
Minibar is just a little fridge and two bottles of water. The room was not clean at all
