amazing location and helpful staff”
For what we paid, this place was amazing. It's far enough away from the party beach that you don't hear the thumping music til all hours of the night but also in a great location with easy access to the island taxis to take you down to lonely beach to party. It has its own beach that is really nice...the beach at the resort next door was much rockier than this beach. The restaurant offered some great food choices and the view was phenomenal. The cleanliness of the place was on par for what we expected...not a 4 star resort but not bugs everywhere either. There were a lot of small ants but nothing too terrible. The staff was super helpful too. When we asked for recommendations they were happy to offer suggestions. Plus they remembered us each day of our stay and would ask where we ended up going. I would highly recommend this place to any budget traveler looking for a nice place to stay that's right on the beach.

Resort really needs TLC but apart from that our bungalow was comfortable & only 20 meters from the beach. Clean with a/c, hot shower, good WiFi & fridge. No coffee making facilities. No pool, gym, sun lounges etc but don't need it as that will only add to the cost anyway. Price included a very good breakfast Will stay again in on Koh Chang

Nice bungalows fronted to garden & partly seeview”
PLEASANT! We traveled as a party of 13 people and had 4 delux bungalows for max 4 pers and one bungalow for two pers. The standard of 3 of the delux bgl was the same as the bungalow but was suited facing garden and see instead of dirtroad and see. One bungalow was built as a duplex and was much bigger and with a bathtub instead of the simple shower in the other bungalows. The bungalows are built in rows, facing eachother over a sort of garden, up from the beach so that most of them have see view from the small portch. The feeling of living directly on the beach is definetly there. NICE and RELAXING! The hotel restaurant is built out on pols in the see with open constraction and a feeling of sitting outside, under a roof with splended view. The food was moderate in the restaurant but they served a breakfast suitable for a dinner in Thai-style. We traveled with 2 small children, 1 and 1,5 year old and they could play in the sand on the beach where there also was shadow available. If you wanted a bigger beach or se something els, you could easy walk north, just a 100 m or a 1000 m (if you wanted). No problem to chose other beach fronts or other beach restaurants. WE ALL HAD A PLEASANT STAY AT MADGIC RESORT and I can highly recommend this bungalow village if you dont expect luxary but settle with a relaxing stay in a more simple stile. This is my second stay here, I was here alone 4 years ago and didn't hesitate to go here again with my 4 grownup children , 2 small grand children and my sister with family. This is a good reference as any!

Nice and clean bungalow on the more simpler side. ”
Our stay was nice. We can recommened this bungalow village if you don't have to high expactation on luxary. Recommend that you chose a delox bungalow thou. They are the same standard but is situated with a garden and see view. Ouers was facing the entranceroud to the resort and cars was parced outside our veranda. Nice beach, but not so broad in the mornings because of the tide. There were lot of grass to lay on though and the trees made a nice shadow. Easy to walk just a few steps north to kilometers of beach and other restaurants. If you want to take a boat trip or elephant riding trip, a good advice are to make it from this beach beacause they starts here (if you do it from White Sand beach you will have to go by car here anyway).

Nice resort,, possible food hygiene issues ? ?”
Nice resort, a little worn but not so much as to spoil the holiday. Food was tasty, but although our party of 5 ate different meals, 4 of us got significant D & V within hours, so possibly kitchen practices need attention ? Beach is tiny and only linked to main beach via access (which is permitted) via an adjacent hotel. Plenty of parking, bars immediately outside the resort. Would return if we felt food hygiene issues were not ongoing.

Nice stay on the beach, service is not very fast but it's the same in every place on the island. Food was ok, nothing special but the price was little lower than average. Walking to restaurant/bar area abt 5 mins. Overall good value for your money. Not an luxury resort but there's no fear of hut falling on your head at night either.

Bungalow 20 meters from the beach. Breakfast in the restaurant was very good with good variety. Not tea or coffee in the room, so travel with an electric jug & 3 in 1 coffee. Room was clean with cold air, fridge, tv & hot shower. If you want a basic resort without all the bells, whistles & frills then this is a good place to stay. If you want to book tours etc you will need to book across the road, resort doesn't do tours etc. All up great value for money on a tropical island the won't break your budget. I'll be back again.

Overpriced but its hard to find cheaper in jan.”
For this price its hard to find better accomodation right on the beach side with beautiful private sandy beach. This is the positive part. The rooms need improvement,the bathroom doesnt worth more than a 2 rating, but at least they have hot shower. The bigger concern is the 5-6cm huge cocroaches that are ferequently running around in the room probably entering from the bathroom. With a few thousands of thb investment from the management the rooms could improve a lot so it might not seem so overpriced as it is at the moment. The restaurant offers good food, the breakfast is acceptable.

nice restaurant on the water, even if service can be incredibly slow at times. superior bungalows are spacy with 2 queensize beds - perfect for a family of 4. within walking distance to close to kay bae beach with many restaurants, some night-life (not a priority for us however) and some shopping. free wi- fi on the beach.

nice location but old and not well managed”
First offered room stinky and very old hard matress, lots of mosquitos and toilett broken. And not very clean. Thats why they changed room for a bit better, cleaner and no mosquitos. But bathroom ugly, big hole so insects could enter, like little snakes... The maintanance overall not very clean, paper, plastic, bottles around the garden. Only old sun chairs on the beach, no matress for sunchairs made of plastic. Not enough sunchairs for all customers. Noisy daily evening music from neighboring hotels... big bass of loudspeakers... till midnight

The room was big enough for 4 people. The shower pressure was awful (worst shower he had in our 3 week trip). The resort had no beach beds on the seaside, so if you want to lay on the beach all day it's not the place to go. All in all, a fine hostel with a good price for a good room, but nothing special.

we paid 30€ per night, but the bungalow was nice. it's also right on the beach and the restaurant is decent. there were older people, families and some couples. so not the place to go if you want to party

With two children 4 and 6 it's not easy anywhere...but here they run around all day on the beach, shallow water in front, staff help them if necessary, so it is a good place on the island, specially compered to similar places in this pice range.

Nice place, nice beach but...”
Well the place is nice, the rooms or lodges are in a nice setting of green grass, trees and tropical vegetation. It's quiet when there is no group and noisy when there is group but this is OK you can go out as they are many bars and restaurant around (I really recommend the seafood restaurant in front of the Durian seller stand, the only one on this beach. The seafood is so fresh and cheap! For the bar I recommend the Giftsy Bar. A small colorful bar with a super kind owner, Miss Gift, who cook very well and make you feel welcome. Good place for new meeting and entertainment). Then the room was old, the fridge was not working, the bed side was hidden by a kind of pink linen with moisture and even a chewing gum on it, water pressure was not very good and be careful not to spread a hint of food on the floor otherwise you will have naughty ants everywhere in your room. At the reception the staff was helpful and at the restaurant very distracted and not really customer or service focused but that's the island Thai style LOL! Beach is nice but water are not deep. Sunset can be very beautiful on this beach!

6 nights at Magic Resort ”
Even though the beach and the ocean was wonderful, our room was in poor condition. Our A/C unit did not have a remote so we had to turn it off and on via a wall switch, the drain in the bathroom was a large whole going directly outside which we plugged up with a tin can when not draining to keep critters out of the room. Also there were large groups coming in each day, only staying one night, accompanied by karaoke bands playing loudly most every night we were there. Thankfully, they quit playing at 10pm. I wouldn't stay here again.

Good location, helpful staff, Nice beach”
We stay here for 2 nights and the location is really good, the restaurant is right on the beach so you can see the sunset, but the bungalow we stayed is a little bit old.
