Exactly what I was looking for”
This one is really close to Bangalore, My idea of going to this place was to give my 3 year old daughter a first hand feel of a village and farm environment and hopefully show her some animals and fireflies, this is placed right in middle of a farm, we did not see fireflies though since it was Feb , and I am not really sure if there are fireflies near Bangalore. On the positives this is a great value for money, you are not overcharged for anything, there is ample parking, place has limited accomodation and you get private space, food is excellent, I felt they served country chicken, though I did not confirm. There is good space to play toys like flying discs/gliders right in front of the cottage , there are atleast 10 big anthills inside the property, you will hear only birds and no vehicle s , they do no not have license to sell but don't mind carrying your own, although they are very concious of not turning this into booze destination, which works well for families, Staff is soft spoken and helpful, rooms are very clean, but you can expect odd visitor from the farm , so don't keep the door open. All in all great place , my suggestion would be to have a badminton/tt facility too , there is no wifi at the moment 4g support s video call though

Open Letter to the Owner of Malgudi Farms, Hoskote, Bangalore. Reason for 1-Star Rating* recently visited Malgudi Farms with my family, and I was initially very impressed by the beautiful surroundings, the well-maintained property, your welcoming hospitality, and the fact that it is a pet-friendly resort. However, during my stay, I encountered some deeply troubling issues regarding the treatment of two of your resident dogs that have compelled me to share my concerns. I heard a dog whining and barking from an area I couldn’t access. When I inquired, I was informed that the dog was a blind Labrador named "Whiskey." After some effort, I found Whiskey locked and chained in a room all day long. Concerned for his well-being, I continued to ask various staff members about his daily care—when he was taken for walks, what his food schedule was, and how often he received attention. To my surprise, I also learned that another senior Labrador, named "Max," was confined in a separate room under equally distressing conditions. When I investigated further, I was horrified to find that Max was kept in a dark room with no light, no clean drinking water, and no food in sight. He was living in his own waste, completely deprived of basic care. I silently monitored Max's schedule and I never saw him taken out of the room. After much persistence, I convinced the staff to take Max out for a walk. What I witnessed was heartbreaking—Max, despite his miserable living conditions, is a sweet and friendly senior dog who deserves much better. However, after a short 10-minute walk, he was dragged back into his filthy, dark room, where he spends the majority of his time. Despite my continued requests, the staff showed little interest in improving his situation, and their indifference to his suffering was deeply upsetting. I waited another hour and requested the caretaker to give Max some drinking water atleast. Grumpily he gave Max some water to drink. I followed the caretaker and gave Max some dog treats which he quickly ate. I again requested the staff, please keep Max out of the room, or tie him near the gate or the reception, or kitchen area to allow Max to get some fresh air for 4 - 5 hours a day atleast. Whats the point keep him locked 24 hours? To this the caretaker replied, he barks a lot and guests at the property are complaining so they can’t let him out. I understand that Max is old and keeps barking, but keeping him confined in such horrible conditions is inhumane. He deserves proper care, regular walks, clean living area, and access to food and water. His life, particularly in his final years, should be filled with comfort, not neglect and suffering. My Request to the Owner -- As the owner of this beautiful property, I humbly request that you investigate this situation and take some steps to ensure Max is cared for properly. He should be allowed out of the room for several hours a day to enjoy fresh air and sunlight, and his living conditions need to be improved drastically—clean the room, provide him with clean water, and ensure he receives proper food. The staff member who is the designated caretaker for dogs and other animals at the property is one of the most non-compassionate human being I have ever met. Please coach him or fire him. His behaviour towards Max was unkind, apathetic, and deeply concerning. A Request to Fellow Guests -- To all visitors, guests, animal lovers, and rescuers, I ask you to check on Max and Whiskey during your visit to Malgudi Farms. Please inquire about their well-being and hold the staff accountable for providing these gentle souls with the care they deserve. Please help Max if possible. He is a charmer and lovely old boy. I feel his pain, he cannot complain, cannot speak for himself and cannot express his pain. In his final years, his suffering is unbearable.
Decent escape from city life”
This is a decent escape from city life not too far from Bangalore City. The property is in chikoo farm and the rooms are native yet clean and good. Food is decent with the barbeque and other options. The farm animals was a highlight which my 2 year old baby enjoyed seeing

It was really wonderful experience staying in Malgudi farms in a village ambience. Special mention to the entire staffs, they were attending guests very well. Well maintained farm and animals, but the vegetable garden was not so great due to the summer season. Food was tasty and they serve different items one after the other like tea, snacks, chats, pizza, barbecue etc. It was less number of rooms, so I was not crowded and recommend it for a peaceful nostalgic break..
