“Return to Mayon Backpackers Hostel )”
Generally, my 2-day stay at Mayon Backpackers Hostel was a pleasant one. I booked for a dormitory type room good for 6 with the Hostel since i will be out the whole 2 days and i will just need a bed to sleep in. i got lucky since i got the room all to myself for two day. The room was clean, except that the CR has a bad smell coming from the drain of the lavatory and that is the first thing youll smell when you get inside the CR. Also the toilet bowl was not clean, not scrubbed and yellowish marks that suggest it was not brushed. If there was a toilet cleaner there or scrub, i could have cleaned that myself. The aircondition is functioning very and can make the room really cool. I sept very well for my 2 nights stay. The included breakfast is not interesting since it only include 3 small slices of sliced bread , a small sunny side up egg and coffee, which you will have to prepare for yourself (not the 3-in-1). However, the coffee in the container is quite old already thus it has no aroma anymore when you put in hot water. Good that i have with me some sachets of MX3 thus i did not avail of the provided coffee. The 3 pieces of small bread were not also appetizing since it looks cold, and plain.. the Hostel could provide a toasted bread or a bread toaster for guest to toast the bread.. I ended up not eating the bread for two consecutive days and ordered rice and spam instead. All the staff are courteous and always with a smile, that part of contributing to my pleasant stay at the Hostel, and especially , the great view of the Mayon on the Roof Deck of the HOstel. They have also set up a "park -like " venue at the roof deck which is great for doing "tambay"or even doing morning exercise. Im sure staying there at night time on good weather would also be great. but i did not have the luxury of time to try it since on both days, i went back to the hostel very late already... Over-all it was verygood staying in this hostel for value for money...
