A pleasant resort, and great value”

Staff were friendly and the resort was nice and clean, good facilities
Staying in the villas in the garden, we did experience noise from the neighbours coming in very late at night. Walls and ceilings were very thin.

Staff were friendly and the resort was nice and clean, good facilities. Very close to Chaweng, but far enough for it to be a relaxing and peaceful environment to unwind and relax. The price we paid through Agoda was very good value when you compare it to the hotels offer price for someone walking in the door. Koh Samui is usually a bit more expensive than the rest of Thailand but we found food and drinks at this hotel to be reasonably priced, and of reasonable quality. There was a free shuttle that would drop you off, and pick you up from Chaweng. However if you wanted to walk, it was only about a 10-15mins stroll. The rooms themselves were very large, well kept and clean. The air conditioning blasted out cold air, and there was an ample mini bar and a good standard safe to keep valuables. The only slight downside was when staying in the villas in the garden, we did experience noise from the neighbours coming in very late at night. Walls and ceilings were very thin. Apart from that, a great little resort and one I would go back to.

Lovely hotel, friendly staff and clean rooms.”

A big balcony and pretty garden view. A great breakfast.

we really enjoyed our stay at nova samui. the hotel rooms are spacious and clean. location is quiet and the hotel is a 10-15 min walk from chaweng beach, however the hotel puts on a shuttle bus for guests every half hour till midnight which is great. earlier in our holiday we stayed right on the beach, but this was a much better location. we hired a moped from the hotel to explore samui and visited some lovely beaches, but i think chaweng beach is still the prettiest. the nova hotel also serves a lovely buffet breakfast and has a nice pool if you don't fancy the beach one day. very friendly staff.

great breakfast great staff

As mentioned in my previous review I always stay at the Nova and will always stay there when I visit Samui. The manager Paul is just awesome. He is very helpful and really did more than he should to help me whenever I had a problem. For the money you cant beat it. Beautiful view of the lake, very close to the fun area for shopping and nightlife and they also offer a free shuttle every 30 minutes from the hotel to that area. I love Nova Samui Resort.

Pool & Gardens, brilliant Staff

Have stayed in the Nova Samui five times now, and the next time I visit Koh Samui, I will be staying there again without a doubt. Great helpfull staff, always happy and smiling. Buffet breakfast with a good choice, although this time no fried rice for breakfast which was a bit of a blow. lovely relaxing swimming pool and well temded gardens. For the price you pay and the comforts you get you will do well to find a better hotel in this price bracket

location and staff

I love this hotel. I love the service. breakfast is great. service immaculate. Paul the manager should be the mayor of Samui. They bend over backwards for you and are always pleasant. Rooms are very clean a great bargain for a true 3.5 star hotel in Samui. Compared to other 3 star rated hotels this hotel is far better than the current rating system. I will never stay at another hotel than Nova Samui Resort.

Idyllic Nova Samui”

Idyllic Settings Neat and Clean Premises Nice Swimming Pool. Tasty Food
A bit away from the beaches.

Nova Samui is a very nice value for money resort on Koh Samui. Though it is not on the beach like other places, it is well connected to the beach by a free transfer facility at any time during the day. The restaurants serve delicious Thai cuisine and there are plenty of restaurants close by as eating options. I would definately return to the resort on my next visit.

Comfy & Relax ”

Nice & spacious room with a beautiful view balcony though is not facing the sea.
Water pressure not strong enough for showering. The water heater is not warm enough for a hot shower bath.

Basically i travel to Koh Samui yearly since 2005. I ve been staying in Nova Samui for 3 or my trips including my most recent one. I feel relax & good staying in this hotel. Though many complain about that the breakfast varieties are too little but i personally don't think so. I've enjoy every of my breakfast there. Love the cook on the spot omelette best!!! haha... The staff are very friendly & obliging. I feel safe parking my car in their carpark too as i have driven my own vehicle all the way from Singapore to Koh Samui. I would defintely love to stay in Nova Samui again for my next visit.

Nova Samui - July 2010”

Location, Price, shuttle bus
Pillows, showerheads

Nova Samui is great value for money and very well located just a few minutes drive from the main street of Chewang and the beach. A free shutttle bus service runs from the hotel to the main street every half an hour, it also offers services to other areas of the island at a much cheaper rate than a normal taxi. The rooms are clean and airy with good air conditioning and private balconies. The beds are large and with the exception of lumpy pillows very comfortable. The bathrooms are clean although the shower heads can be difficult at times. The food in the hotel is good and the drinks are exceptionally priced. I would definitley recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a decent holiday on a budget!

Little Gem of a hotel ”

- Lovely room with big balconies - Huge pool area with lots of sun loungers - Free shuttle into town every half hour - Very reasonably priced restaurant on site serving delicious food.
- A tad far away from the main center of Samui but the shuttle service makes up for this. - Internet a bit expensive (there was a cheaper place just across the road)

Absolutely lovely hotel for the price we paid. Rooms are very clean and spacious with lovely balconies overlooking the pool areas and landscaped gardens. Rooms were cleaned every day with new linen and fresh water. Pool area was fantastic - lots of sun loungers and really nice pool to laze by all day! We initially thought that the hotel was a bit out of the way but we pleasantly surprised to find that the hotel offer a shuttle service into town every half an hour and you just tell them what time you want to be picked up. All in all would definitely recommend the Nova Samui for those on a budget but who want to splash a few extra pounds!

Friendly staff, Great location, Good Food

During my South East Asia trip I spent a couple of days in the Nova Samui Resort. I ended up enjoying it so much that I extended my stay by 5 days. The staff was super friendly, the pool was perfect and the location could not have been better. Conveniently located in 5 minutes walking distances from all the major place in Chewang it combines the benefits of a calm location with being in close distance to the major party places and restaurants. I would choose it again!

hotel dogs begging for food in dining room

We have stayed in koh samui several times, at several different hotels, and this hotel has been the best value for money out of all of them. staff are friendly and helpful, and speak very good english. the complimentary bus into chaweng leaves every half hour, and you can arrange with the driver for a pick-up time. we had an extra bed in our room for my grandson, but still there was plenty of room to spread out clothes, etc. the balcony was larger than average. the pool was excellent and there was an attendant there at all times to serve drinks, which were very quickly served. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone as we had a very pleasant stay.

Nice stay at Nova”

- Great swimming pool - Fairly quiet - Lush garden atmosphere
- A little far from all the shops, bars and restaurants - Good breakfast, but best to avoid lunch and dinner here

The Nova Samui Resort had a pleasant surrounding atmosphere with all the greenery and the pool was the highlight of this place. The rooms do go up quite a ways so you may want to request a room that is closer to the pool area, unless you enjoy climbing stairs to the top of the hill. The restaurant serves a decent buffet style breakfast, but if you can hold off until lunch there is a great little family run restaurant just across the street from the hotel. You have to pay 100 baht for 70 minutes if you would like to use the internet and if you want to use your laptop you can near the lobby, but the signal won't reach the rooms. The hotel a little far from all the action, but you can use their free shuttle service that leaves every 30 minutes (which also picks you up at the McDonalds near the center of Chaweng). There are always taxies and jeepneys coming by as well so you're not that isolated. If you want, walking to the main Chaweng beach road would probably take about 10 to 15 minutes. Overall, it was an enjoyable stay and the big pool was impressive.

We extended our stay!!!”

Value for money. Great pool...
Drainy smell and steep climb to upper rooms.

We looked at places on the beach while we were in Samui and decided Nova still offered better value than the poky places on the Beach so we extended our visit. While we were here the hotel was quite busy and I don't think there is a better deal on Chaweng beach if you are prepared to put up with a few faults. We had two rooms and in one the Tv was only tuned to a movie channel (I'm sure staff would have acted if we had asked for help as they were all very accomodating). There was periodically an unpleasant drainy/musty smell in this same room, but our other room was fine. The upper rooms are offered at a cheap rate but I wouldn't go for these if you are not fit as it is a long climb! Breakfast is a good deal, so make sure you book it as part of your room deal. The hotel also offers seafood dinners at a better rate per weight than any of the places on the beach, though of course you don't have the same ambience!

Nova Samui-Koh Samui”

Lovely hotel-situated on edge of Samui lake. Free shuttle bus to town centre and will also collect you at a prearranged time. Staff very helpful and friendly.
Restaurant menu somewhat limited.

Fantastic hotel situated on Koh Samui lake. The hotel itself is very clean and comfortable and the staff very friendly and helpful. The hotel gardens are beautiful and incorporates a large pool with waterfall, jacuzzi and pool bar. There is a free shuttle bus to town centre and will also collect you at a prearranged time. Its not far to walk to town but its very hot. he rooms are large with own balcony \ terrace and are very well maintained. There are some really nice bars/reataurants opposite the hotel including MUZZ'S BAR which does the most amazing food and the are great people. We would definately stay at this hotel again!!!!

Nova Samui Resort”

Good size swimming pool, nicely set out.Rooms good size.
There are a number of steps at the resort,so if your not good on your feet, think again. The centre of Chaweng is about10/15 away by foot,or 5 minutes by shuttle bus.

Had an enjoyable 6 nights at the Nova Samui Resort. The room was a good size and had everything you required for your stay. The room over looked the nice swimming pool, which was a good size. The staff where very friendly and very helpful. The only two down sides are the number of steps at the resort,so if your not good on your feet think again. Also the centre of Chaweng is about 10/15 walk away or 5 minutes by the free shuttle bus from the hotel.PS,went to Lamai and stayed at the Koh Samui, well worth a look.
