Clean room, few mosquitoes, great location”
There are many reasons why I would stay at Pan Guest House again if I were to return to Nong Khai. Firstly, the location is excellent, being right smack in the middle of Tha Sa Det Market and on the banks of Mekong. Secondly, the double room we stayed in was well-furnished and the air-conditioning works very well. No mosquitoes in sight unless you hang out on the veranda long enough to attract the bugs. Very clean, bright airy room and well-ventilated bathroom. Lastly, the owners are very friendly and helpful despite language barriers. Strong Wifi to boot, making it convenient to research travel information. All in all, for the amount we paid, this is really the best stay we've had in Thailand.

Pan Guest House Review”
I was happy to find Pan Guest House because of its close location to the bus station (10-15 minute walk). Great location as it is right on the Mekong River. Looking across to Laos. The guest house has complimentary coffee ( instant) and tea. Also bread with toaster available ( no butter or jam though). Cheap price located to cheapskate eats close buy. Cable tv had Sci Fi channel and 24 hour movies in English! Great to vedge out on tv! (After traveling)

Pan guesthouse is right on the river. There is only one room with a balcony, but that isn’t a problem because there is a deck with several tables and chairs for guest’s use. There is coffee and tea available at any time outside the rooms in the spacious hallway area. The room I had, # 2, is large with a good bed and other furnishings including a fridge. It is clean and comfortable as is the bathroom. The staff are great. English is limited but workable. I got same day laundry service. They serve very nice noodle soup for breakfast and lunch. There is no end to the restaurants and street food two blocks up on the main street. And likely on the waterfront on Saturday. There is a market very close by that’s piled high with the usual stuff, if you need some new trinkets. Pan guesthouse is excellent. I kept my room for an extra night to relax.

perfect location, free coffee and bicycle”
Its in the center of river side so perfect location and its nice river view from balcony on 2nd floor (all guests can sit here and enjoy free coffee anytime) only thai language is available as its common in this area but the staff understood a little bit english and very helpful. I checked other accommodations river side and this one was the best: better location , clean room and free bicycle also good price. water, shampoo bodywash and towels provided. I booked 1 night and extended my stay to 4 nights here. If come again ill stay here for sure

Cheap and nice on great location”
Love my stayed. They have coffee, tea, toast for guests to help themselves with microwave and dishes if you have some foods with you. Bacolny with the view of Maekhong river. They give you bicycle to use for free, very kind owner. Fast internet connection, I'll be back again. Love everything at Pan :)

Man, you gotta get room #1. It overlooks the river, and is the best. Good Mosquito screens on all windows.”
I stayed here for 6 days, five of which were in room #1. One of the days they moved me next door to room #2 because of a previous booking. All the rooms I saw were good, and had good mosquito screens, but room #1 was DREAMY. You can lay there in bed and look out onto the Mekong river. There is a flowering tree outside with cool little birds. Definitely the best. If you look at a photo of the place from the outside, room # 1 is on the second floor, all the way to the right, facing the Mekong and walkway below. At the time of this review, the outside of the entire place is painted a light green, so you can see where the guesthouse ends and the next begins.

Quiet and peacefull”
This is a budget no frills guest house.This is the second time we have stayed there.The room on both occasions was spotlessly clean.good toilet and shower.Lovely view from common balcony overlooking the Mekong river,although no restaurant or breakfast they do provide tea or coffee and toaster and bread/jam.Close to some nice restaurants.Absolute value for money.Will always stay at Pan whenever we go to Nong Khai.Only small complaint was the pillows were to high.

Riverfront view of Mekong”
Pan is OK for budget stays. Its dated but comfy. Nongkhai in rainy season was very quiet, although we enjoyed walks, cheap backstreet noodles and coffee shops. Tip: get to the Friendship Bridge Laos immigration early ; its a laborious hassle. Better to get your Laos visa before you go.

Great Location, on the river bank”
Couldn't believe the friendly staff, and the location! Seemed strange to arrive through the middle of a market, but turned the corner at the end and right on the esplanade found the Guest House.One flight of stairs to climb, and all rooms I think are on this floor.A sitting area for watching the Mekong River flow past while having coffee was great.Coffee free - help yourself anytime. Mackey's restaurant about 100mtrs away served good food. The staff were so helpful, even let us use the facilities after we checked out. We will return to this lovely place again soon.

Great stop over on way to Laos”
Nong khai is definitely a place to stay for a couple of days. Pans really nice, clean and lady who runs it is very nice (but doesn't speak much English). It's in a great location on riverfront near all restaurants and markets.

one night stay”
We stayed only for one night and got a huge family room with four beds for just the two of us. It was simple but clean and colorfully decorated with lots of stuffed cuddly animals - what probably appeals to families with toddlers but not really to us. The shared balcony with riverview is great to enjoy a coffee or tea, which are provided for free throughout the day. The guesthouse location, directly at the river promenade, is really central yet not noisy at night. Staff were friendly.

Pro's: Good location, good size clean rooms. Con's: They have disabled the temperature control on the remote control for the air-conditioning so the temperature cannot be lowered(cheap trick). It is set at a high temperature to save electricity but it doesn't cool the room just keeps cutting out. Not possible to sleep at that temperature, kick all the blankets off but then the mosquitoes get you. 2 nights no sleep Nylon sheets, hard lumpy pillows, satellite TV but no English channels

Good Walking Access to River and Markets”
Parking was a bit tricky, until owners organize. Excellent view of river. Shower , bed and aircon comfortable. Shared hotwater, tea, coffee , toaster available all the time. Would stay again.

Charmless”
Cheap in a good location and very clean. Has all the charm of hospital. Reception luke warm attitude. Breakfast meagre and cold. Too many signs and warnings about fines and penalties for various possible transgressions. Overall it made me feel like some kind of tolerated parasite.
