Overprized Guesthouse in perfect location”

The guesthouse is a bit overpriced. We 've got a room directly on a parking space which was very umprivate and not cozy at all. There is a coffee bar, overpriced as well, next door and all those guests are parking in front of your room. It's closed from 5 pm, so you will definetely have a good sleep. The host was friendly, but not welcoming at all. No coffee, no banana, no nothing provided complimentary. We would not come back, sorry.

A place with real character”

R Lampang consists of two traditional houses,one of which is over 100 years old.Both have bags of character.My room,A/C cooled was spotless and very comfy.The location,on the river,is quiet but is not too far from central Lampang. I really must say something about the wide variety of breakfasts on offer.In addition to Western,they also offer Thai,local Northern Thai(absolutely huge,spicy and delicious)Vietnamese and Chinese! The owner,who is a mine of information,was very obliging nd helped make my stay here both relaxing and fun.

Iconic Town of Old Thailand !”

R-Lampang Guesthouse is homely and idyllic for my purpose. I was there to paint and with their open plan space courtyard and restarant, it was PERFECT . The river along the Guesthouse flows gently and the garden provides a cool and green shade. Large tables and chairs are available in the open air restaurant for eating or painting. Staff at R-Lamapng including the boss himself, is always attentive and ready to provide for your requests. The only gripe I personally have is that there are no lunch/dinner service available or even hot water at night. Just a 10 minutes walk away you can shop at a huge departmental store "Serea" or food markets or shphouses selling all sorts of things. Horses and carriage still ply the roads and I suspect must be the only town with this iconic transport. Its a restful town and if you are looking for a Thailand of the past this is a good place to start with.

Conveniently located guesthouse”

The guesthouse is on Talat Kao road, near the riverside as well as the 'Chinatown' are of the city. There are many small restaurants and shops within walking distance. Talat Kao road is also lined with interesting and characterful old traditional-style and wooden buildings - strolling on it feels like being thrown back to an earlier era. The R-Lampang is set on pleasant grounds and has a nice, rustic breakfast pavilion by the riverside - which served a very delicious set breakfast (I had a Thai fried pork and rice). I stayed in a Standard room, which was slightly worn but in generally very good condition and clean. The shower did not have hot water but slightly-more-than-lukewarm water. The room is fairly characterless and felt box-like because there was no window, just some colored textured glass which let in outside light (both in the day and the night, so not good if you like to sleep in complete darkness.) The air conditioning unit was very effective. This hotel is a solid choice though not especially good value.

Nice room but construction work right on property didn't allow rest and enjoyment. ”

Pros: The room by the river is really nice and comfy. Location is great. Cons: upon arrival, a very unfriendly woman was at the reception. She didn't speak English but just knew the word "passport". So nothing was explained to me (if they had bicycles for rent, restsurants...) and I stayed with questions until Check-put. The man at the desk in the evening also doesn't speak a word of english so I couldn't get help twice. I paid full price even though they have some heavy construction going on on property and sea saw was active starting early morning. It was definitely not a relaxing time staying at R-Lampang. I would recommend Riverside guesthouse which is just next door and they have a very nice restaurant by the river with good food and very friendly English speaking staff.

Best place to stay for visiting weekend market”

Great place for a couple/small family/backpacker, nice breakfast with the deal from agoda, although room varieties are restricted; agoda deal gives you only the 1st floor room, if you want to reserve the 2nd floor(river view), staffs said you gotta call them directly(100THB off without breakfast). Great room and place design...very convenient distance to Kad-kong-ta weekend market.

Clean, Good Location and nice staff”

The room is very clean and comfortable stay but the bed and pillow a bit hard but it's fine for me. But the house build from wood sometimes when next room back from night out in late midnight it making a sounds and it awaken from sleepiness event the room given a sign of gentle walk. And the hotel just next to the street its sometime at night there are also have a sounds from car and motorbike as well!! Note, staff should inform guest the there also needs to switch on the cut out of hot water boiler and must be great if there can provide hair dryer (it's need for feme to wash the hair in cold weather like at night)

Great guesthouse”

I have a great moment here. Everything are good with such price. The hotel is near the night market on saturday and sunday. Wide variety of choice for the breakfast. The river view is good.

Good for one night - without big expectations!”

This was our final overnight in Thailand and at first we were extremely disappointed when we saw our room - it really did have the proportions and feel of a garage - the bed was situated right up against a wall so you have to climb over it to get in. It's an extremely quirky place - piles of old television sets and old bikes add to the ambiance )or just give it the feel of a junk shop!). It's a very convenient location, a short pick-up ride to the bus station. There may be nicer places along the riverfront and there might be nicer rooms in this property - the photos you see in here are definitely not from the room we were in! The floors are extremely thin and you could here the occupants of the room upstairs. That said it was probably the best breakfast we had during our three week stay in Thailand. The couple who own this place were extremely kind and accommodating (we were brought a mosquito repellent spray within minutes after having asked for one)! We could recommend this place (read: room, being the only one for sale through this website) for a single night stay!

Loved it !! Adorable Guest House!”

We absolutely loved it ! It was adorable! The whole place was very quaint. The room was adorable, very clean, and large with a TV. The bathroom was also large and modern. The setup is very quaint. I wish we stayed longer!

Ideal for couples. Quiet, great dining nearby, really nice room/river view, good car parking, plenty of nearby attractions, good Thai breakfast. We'll return.

Overpriced for the standard of room.”

We were disappointed with the gloomy atmosphere of our room which appeared to be one of several rooms constructed underneath the original building. The drab grey polished cement floor and walls made it feel like a dungeon and noise from the room above was very loud. Perhaps the rooms on the upper level were nicer. The staff were efficient but not very friendly. The breakfast was very goog but was not included in the price of the room.

Relaxing getaway ”

Staff was very friendly and helpful. I had was sick, one day, and the staff asked my husband if there was anything they could do. Always a happy hello. Called a taxi for us when we left. We would definitely return.

A nice and cosy lodging place in a rural town”

Overall a pleasant stay. Though English was abit of a challenge, the staff do try their best to communicate and are always eager to please. A good place for a relaxing time to rest and recharge your tired batteries.

Hotel sympathique en bois vert”

nous ne sommes restés qu'une nuit dans cet hotel en bois vert. Chambres corrects mais sombres surtout celles du bas, demandez en hauteur mais bon, correct pour une nuit et calme. Pas de piscine mais vue sur la rivière. Petit dejeuner correct mais jus d'orange non compris ?. Sinon, centre ville de Lampang sans trop d'intérêt, pas grand chose à voir par contre le restaurant près du gîte, le " The Riverside Pizza" est très bon et sympathique au bord de l'eau. Voir les céramiques et les éléphants hospital.
