“5 star? Really?”
5 star? Really? A 5-star hotel signifies the pinnacle of luxury hospitality, offering exceptional, personalized service, lavish amenities, exquisite design, and immaculate quality across all operations, with staff proactively anticipating guest needs for a flawless, indulgent experience, beyond just basic luxury to truly bespoke comfort. We were greeted nicely by the valet and concierge. The receptionist named Dianne was also super nice, helpful and gave us a very warm welcome. Everything was okay at first sight, until we reached our room. The room was kind of okay. Not what I expected coming from a 5-star hotel. But 2 ugly chairs on the balcony? Press 0 for any service? The housekeeping buttons and other buttons on the phone were just for decorations I guess. I also could not use the Room to Room call. The first disappointing thing was when I wanted to request for empty plates, the hotel wanted to charge me AED10 for 1 set of plate including cutlery. Really? Charging the hotel guest for empty plates? How ridiculous it sounds. I never experience this kind of treatment out of hundreds hotels I’ve been to. And we’re talking about Radisson Blu, not a cheap hotel that I can just find on a random street. Then, I requested for extra bedsheets and pillow. I called again after almost 1 hour because they haven’t arrive. On the call, I added my request for extra towels, yet to have a staff coming and knocking the door questioning and confirming about the towels instead of getting us the towels straight away. They even mentioned about “There are towels already in the room.” as if we were not aware of it. And yet they only came later with the towels only without the bedsheets and told us that only the towels was requested. I think your staffs should have better communication skills in relaying messages to each other and taking actions. I gave up and asked for an extra bed instead while telling them my frustration about the bedsheets and pillow. This time, they came early. I don’t know, maybe because it was chargeable, I guess. So they made it quickly while my request before was not chargeable. Is it because of that, they did it super slow? And the extra bed came with the extra bed sheets. We went to the swimming pools later on. Going to cabana, no towels. Have to come again 10 minutes, the staff said. What is this? Ran out of towels? Really? We went to the other swimming pool near the The Lounge, the smell was really bad. Smelled like bird droppings or what, but it was not convenient at all. And to put the cabana all the way near the beach is not that convenient for guests to go there to get the towels and come back to the swimming pool. The breakfast buffet was so-so, not the kind of breakfast I expected from a 5-star hotel. It did not wow me at all. Limited choices of food. If it were a 3-star hotel, I might be okay but we are talking about a 5-star hotel and I was expecting a memorable and amazing experience. The valet service was super-duper slow. I have no idea where my car was parked, but it took them like around 15 minutes or more to get the car back to the lobby. This is too slow. We waited so long in the lobby for the car. If there were other guests queuing up for the valet, then we would have understood but it was only us. Overall, staffs are super friendly. Services were bad and I would not come again. Please improve and if the reviews in the future have a significant improvement, then only I would consider on coming back.
