Central Java hotels & places to stay

Hotel is 3 years old, next to Metro mall. Breakfast is excellent and good variaty. The staff is excellent from front end to back end, everything is doen to keep the customer statisfied. If you have a Best western membership you even get more discount, but the conditions are not clear. The membership goes per person, not per couple. Prices of facilities are reasonable. Nice swimmingpool and gym. Very recommended.

Booked 2 Superior Twin rooms with Agoda discounts which is the lowest rate as compared to other sites. 1 room was ready & we were allowed to check-in before 1pm. The 2nd room was ready at 2.40pm which was later than check-in time of 2pm. Room with breakfast is only for 2 persons. An extra child 6yrs-12yrs is charged IDR60,000 at the restaurant,half of the adult breakfast price. We were given 2 rooms next to each other on the 8th floor. There are no inter-connecting rooms for Superior. What a lovely surprise to see a very pretty garden when we open the curtains of the full length room glass window! It felt like we were on the ground floor. :) We could not open the "door" like windows though. Breakfast buffet menu was very extensive that it was not possible to try everything. :) Rooms are big,carpeted & luxurious with separate bathtub,shower & toilet with full amenities. Very comfortable lobby with good & professional staff befitting international 5* standard. Po Hotel,the former Crowne Plaza Hotel has changed management but everything else remain. This is an affordable & convenient luxury hotel next to Paragon Mall (in the same building). I enjoyed sitting at the lobby sipping infused water which is there for guests the whole day through. :) The only cons are: No free airport shuttle & children 6yrs & above are charged for breakfast. Traffic in front of the hotel lobby is very busy as the hotel is next to a big & busy mall. We enjoyed our stay so much!

The Alila brand is known for its upscale elegance and signature branding with meticulous attention to detail and creative variations on traditional themes. The Alila Solo is quite a departure from other Alila's that I have been at as it rises 24 stories above the city of Solo and is currently the tallest building in central Java. From the sweeping artistry of the lobby with it amazing immense batik themed ceiling treatment that ends in a gigantic Kayon or Javanese Tree of Life which is the background of the hotel's reception area to the sophisticated electronics console in each room equipment with USB charging ports and connections to play guests devices on the room's flat screen TV you are made aware of the Alila's signature elegance. My only area that is not quite at the Alila's Five Star level is the food service. Since the property just opened in November I know this is still a work in progress. It still is excellent however not yet at the level of longer established Alilas. Since I know that one of the defining elements that often places the Alilia Group a cut above other high starred property is their imaginative and outstanding food and beverage service I am sure that this will improve and be on a par with other Alilas in the near future. Without at doubt the premier location to stay in Solo.

plus: hotel's location is nice, close to food stalls, beds are spacious, refrigerators in every rooms, the staffs also helped us when we asked for a packing box,they even provided the scissors & tape, thank you,we really appreciate it. but, when we tried to order food from the restaurant and decided to order 'capjay soup', the restaurant staffs didn't ask if we like it spicy/not, and when the capjay came, it was spicy. it doesn't even written in the menu if the capjay is spicy. we never thought that a capjay will be spicy,so we didn't mention it. i can't eat spicy, because i had a chronic maag condition. finally after some debates, the staffs decided to change it into a non-spicy-capjay. also, the hotel staffs almost fined us for smoking in the room, i was so shocked. none of us are smokers, we even traveled with infant, how can we smoke in the room with an infant. when i first entered the room,i do smell cigarettes in the room,but i refused to complain because i saw a non-smoking sign inside the room and also a smoke detector,so I thought noone would smoke inside the room. i will complain in the first place, if i knew we will treated like that. fortunately, the staffs are communicative and finally they didn't fine us for the thing we didn't do,of course. so,i will rate only 3 stars, instead of 5, i do honestly almost rate this hotel 5 stars.. so sorry.. but,yeah this is a good hotel & staffs quality can be improved. we will come back again when we visit semarang.

the best thing about the hotel is its location which very close to shopping area and good eating places. there is a nice bookstore next door with an adjacent famous donuts outlet which is opened from 6am to 10pm. was pleasantly surprised when they upgraded one of the rooms i booked to a suite. the hotel staff were very professional & polite and attended to our various requests like extra towels, praying mats etc very quickly. breakfast is okay although the spread is nothing to shout about but enough to help you start the mornings on a good note. the pool area is also simple and nice especially at night. hotel santika premier also provides complimentary return airport transfer and they can also arrange for a tour guide to take you around semarang city and nearby tourist attraction areas at a very reasonable rate.

THE best resort we have stayed at in the world. In the heart of Central Java Mesastila offers a true sanctuary to relax, enjoy some delicious Javanese food and coffee and explore some of the countryside. We went back to the spa twice and the Hammam was a super nice touch - opted for the Arabian Nights package and left more relaxed then we have ever been. The staff at the resort made the experience - by day two they all had remembered our names and the chef even came out to prepare a special dinner for us. A couple tips (1) try to arrange your own transportation as the hotel charges $600k (note in Bali we paid $700k for 8-hours of driving) // (2) try to pick up your own wine at duty free as they charge an arm and leg for alcohol at this resort (was almost $7USD for a Bitang when we got it for less than $2 in Bali). Overall amazing experience just expect to double what you paid for the hotel in expenses while there.

i was stay in grand candi hotel when idul fitri holiday. i was come in mid night and very tired when arrived but the friendly staff give me faster check in, so i get the key room only ina minutes. breakfast totally delicious. the hotel in an expensive area in semarang and we can breath fresh air in the morning, the location was great and near to mall (java mall) only 5-7 minutes by car.

After the short 25 minute ride from the airport, we were pleasantly surprised by a modern looking and centrally located Hotel. All the staff were very friendly and polite. The hotel has an annex to the local shopping mall so, we did not have to venture out into the main street and traffic. The facilities are good. With a swimming pool, spa, lobby bar and a good restaurant serving a western menu on the 1st floor. I would recommend paying a little more and staying in an executive room. You get to have private meetings, breakfast and cocktails at the executive lounge on the 10th floor with sweeping views of the city. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Semarang. And I am fussy!

This was our first stay, at the Java Heritage, over a 10 day period during the holiday season. We were surprised at how highly proficient the staff were from the moment we entered the hotel. Dwianti was the first to greet us with a warm smile. She later delivered our luggage to our room after a less then 5 minute speedy check in by another warm and helpful staff member Dhati. The room was noticeably large, pool view, 2nd floor with a balcony. The bathroom was clean with very hot water. Everything functioned properly; fridge, tea maker, lighting and the air-con was very cold and easy to adjust. Bed, sheets and pillows were clean and comfortable. The pool was large and never overcrowded during our usage. The breakfast was a huge plus, fresh coffee and many choices for locals as well as westerners. Considering this hotel is in a small city in Central Java, it performed a very good service. Shockingly satisfying. Thanks to the previous review from this web. It is reliable. The lobby is clean and bright, the staffs are friendly. The room is quite big, clean and bright. Breakfast buffet is complete even they have local herbal beverage (jamu). It's in the same complex with a shopping mall. The swimming pool is also good. Definitely a hotel I will choose if I must stay in this city again. With all pros I experienced, can I ask for more?

For the Agoda promo price I paid, this stay is really, really great value for money. I stayed in the twin bedroom with my son. This is my first stay at this hotel. I really thankful that each bed is not a crampped 90/100cm wide bed. It is quite spacious 140cm wide for each person. Depend on priority, the location could be strategic or not. If you drive from West (i.e. Jakarta/Curebon/Pekalongan, etc) in to Semarang, this hotel welcome you at the very heart of the gateway going in to the city. Right in front of it, just across the road, is one of the "food for souvenirs" central in Semarang. But this makes the road is quite crowded time to time. So at the end the road was split into two with barricades in the center. This and latest government policy to make some main streets in Semarang as one way street could trouble car going in this hotel and, sometimes, leaving out for certain destination. But in overall, still very recommended place to stay.

Rooms modern, comfortable bed and good cable TV & WIFI. Room is fitted out like good 3.5 to 4 star style. It's clean and new. Nothing overly special but comfortable and nice enough. I perviously stayed a week ago and some issues with music being played in the corridor (outside my room early hours) but staff where very helpful and gladly turn it down. So made for a far better sleep inn ;) There's only one restaurant but the buffet breakfast is reasonable. Swimming pool a bit small but still quite nice. Gym is very limited and is a bit hot temperature wise, as has lots of glass window (sunny). Only good for a very basic workout. Location is good and close to city centre, it's fairly quiet as hotel is set back from the road. Staff are very nice. Overall it's okay while it's still new.

We stayed 4 days and expected very little for a 3 star hotel after we stayed in 4star the previous week which was not so good. But we're kindly surprised by the cleanliness and the high level of service. We really got 5 star service from the very committed staff. The only negative was that there were a lot of smokers in the lobby all the time luckily the air conditioners worked well. They were not allowed to smoke in the restaurant but I sincerely feel that smokers is always very selfcentered and never think about other people who don't smoke. The other thing was the noises the moscees made from just After 3 in the morning and not only one but up to 3 of them at the same time with bad sound quality. This was the most annoying thing about the stay but totally out of the control of the hotel person ell. I suggest they should only allow one person to sing at a time.

Dafam Samarang hotel is the best hotel that I ever been to! I'd been to 5 stars hotels before but this 3 stars hotel hospitality definitely beat the others nearby hotels near them. I had made a good choice to stayed there even it only for a one night stay. All the hotel's staff are really welcoming and friendly. I really enjoyed there. They served good local foods at a reasonable price, and have a bar/lounge to hang out at night while enjoying good coffee and listening to a very good pianist with have a good voice.

Puri Asri Hotel is a beautiful, beautiful place, the landscape design is wonderful, particularly for a vacation surrounded by nature. The rooms are beside a lovely river, there are many scenic walking pathways to enjoy, and also many activities available and nice lounging areas to relax in. If we're ever on the Java island I will consider bringing my family here. The only downside was the language barrier, breakfast was included in my reservation and i was fasting so I told them I wouldn't be eating breakfast during my stay, yet I received a morning call for breakfast every day, one even as early as 6:20 am :( each morning was the same conversation. After the first day that became quite annoying and an unpleasant start to the day. Either way, I don't know if anyones to blame, as it was due to the language barrier. And besides that the staff were very sweet, and accommodating, going above and beyond to make the stay pleasant for me. Try for the executive rooms the regulars are small

really nice to stay with warm hospitality. clean environment which situated in central of business city in semarang, central java, and in the middle of shopping complex. here we can enjoy city sightseeing, delicious food and various kind of shopping center just in a step. this is recommended hotel for its flexibility for any kind of activities and for its easy access to any places you want to visit.

Good location, near to the beach and town. My friends had a room with the best view, they can enjoy the sea and the pool from their balcony. Unfortunately, I was unlucky so I can only see the sunset from the-very-hot-balcony in my room since the room is very near to sauna room and staff room. The breakfast is OK, maybe 3 of 5 stars. We stayed here for 2 nights, and in the 2nd day, the hotel held a small gathering or celebration for their staff and we can hear all the noise from our room. But overall, the hotel is nice and the staffs are very friendly.

The best thing of this hotel were its' fresh atmosphere and its' lighting at night. The location is in the upper hill, with many trees around which make fresh and cozy. The staff were helpful and responsive, I call them for repairing AC and they're quickly solved the problem. The restaurant cleanliness and also the food taste need to be improved (it had many menu choices, but almost of them are plain). The parking area is not really big, and there are water in some spots. However, it still good enough place to stay because of the atmosphere and cost. Recommended for couples and/or family with child(ren).
