Where to stay in Ishikawa Prefecture
Ishikawa Prefecture hotels & accommodations

We really love this hotel with its Japanese Zen ambience, and 4 beds which accommodate our family very well. All is good except that this hotel has a strict policy of early check out at 10 am, and the staff is not flexible to give us an extension of check out even at 11 am. Then on check out day, we have passed all our keys to reception to check out, however we are sti...

We decided to take an overnight trip to Kanazawa and chose this hotel due to its proximity to the station. Everything about the hotel felt new and stylish. Some have complained about thin walls or noise from trains outside, but we found our room to be quite well isolated for noise. The staff is very kind and always tries their best to speak English. The only strange th...

The location is very convenient, a quick walk from the JR station with buses to get you anywhere you want to go in Kanazawa. The facilities are really really great, and the rooms are enormous for Japan! The free happy hour and free ramen hour are an amazing extra bonus, the noodles are delicious. Breakfast at the hotel is quite good, with quality food and a large varie...

Front Desk Staff are very friendly and responsive. Hotel is keep the luggage for us before check in and after check out. Close to Kanazawa JR Station about 7 mins walk. We booked triple bed room which is good to fix in 2 adults 2 children. Room is clean & cosy. The onsen is located next block and have to bring the towel from hotel room. Overall is very satisfactory sta...

The best thing about this hotel is its location - it is situated practically at the doorsteps of Kanazawa train station and several major shopping malls with many options for cafes and restaurants. We enjoyed the public bath and onsen on Level 2 which is free for hotel guests and is open daily up to midnight. The reception staff are extremely helpful. Twice we cal...

The Hotel is in a perfect position, with high quality/price ratio. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable and larger than a standard single bed (we had a triple),the pijamas offered nice. What we appreciated the most was the large choice excellent quality toiletries (eg shampoo and bath salt to relax after a tiring day) and coffee/tea selection, indeed the be...

A fantastic hotel with great staff. One our first night we asked for reservations to a good sushi restaurant. The concierge booked us into one of the top 5 best sushi restaurant in Kanazawa city. Wow. Our meal was fantastic and we were so fortunate to have this lady concierge made the reservation for us. The rooms are clean and the bathrooms are fantastic. Shower water...

We stayed at this hotel for three nights (booked twice since we were supposed to stay only two nights but there were Osaka Earthquake and so we stayed one more night). The first and second night we got a very big room (around 32m2) with 2 television and living room. The third night we got a smaller room but still very big (for a Japanese Hotel) and we could easily open...

Our stay at UAN was too short. The hotel is absolutely gorgeous, starting from the lobby with free hot and cold beverages to the lounge with its library of (Japanese) books. We booked a room including breakfast and didn't regret it. There is a choice of Japanese or Western breakfast, and guests need to pick a timeslot. So, in case you have particular plans, submit your...

the location is close to the bus stop and there are shooping malls connected to the hotel and across the road. Their staff is very helpful and friendly. I was heading to Osaka from Kanazawa and would stay at a private homestay with no frontdesk to hold my luggages in Osaka. The staff was very helpful by trying their best to find the closest place where i could pick my...

The front desk staff is a bit off. 3 of us check in for 2 rooms, she only checked in 1 person with 1 room. After explain to her, she went to check our bookings for long time. They shall get the room and keys ready for those with bookings in advance instead of blur around. The room is fine, typical Japanese small sized hotel. Onsen with Jacuzi is a bonus. Hotel restaura...

Clean, no frill, good service and value for money given the price. Booked first night at SGD 120+ (Due to good friday weekend) and 2nd night at around SGD80+. Room is a bit cramp as usual for Japan hotel - business hotel. 10-12 mins walk from Kanazawa Station or take cab JPY 660-900 depends on traffic. Near to Kenrokuen n Kanazawa Castle too- via short cut walk. By cab...

We would like to compliment bot Ms Ho and Ma Chen to have make our family stay really wonderful and enjoyable. We would definitely come back to stay again. The food for dinner was fantastic but breakfast was a little disappointing, as we had better breakfast in Bayiako in Kyoto. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality.

If you are visiting Kanazawa book your room at Ryokusone asap! From beautiful decor, exceptional concierge and guest services, to the best food we have had in Japan, do yourself a favor and make sure you you stay with the folks at Ryokusone for at least one night. We selected breakfast only as an option, but judging by the amazing experience we had I can only imagine w...

The staff we're one of the best hostel staff I've come across, and everyone staying there was super friendly. Made new friends and memories I'll have for the rest of my life. Couldn't recommend it enough. Location was teriffic and the state of the place was immaculate!

Really nice hostel next to the market and the Kanazawa castle. It felt more like a hotel than a hostel and the staff were great! They called and booked an amazing restaurant for us which ended up to be the best food that we had in Japan. Some more options at the bar would be nice and the jacuzzi was pretty basic.

Location is about 8-10 minute walk from the train station but you need to cross the street or take underground pedway. Hotel is new and clean. Standard Japanese room size. The highlight of this hotel is their breakfast and spa bed. I absolutely loved it. If you're in the area, try this hotel. Highly recommended!

The hotel is about 10 minutes walk from the town, but feels a million miles away from it, as it is situated in the forest. If you carry on up the hill past the hotel there is a lookout tower with amazing views (mountains, forest, even the sea) and a beautiful shrine and walk through temple grounds. The temple is also accessible from the town, so you can go for a pleasa...

We arrange a day or 2 ago to ask hotel fetch us at the station. Upon arrival, two friendly uncle help us carry bags to their small bus. Then bring us to hotel. There are another 3 or 4 staffs standing outside of hotel main lobby to greet us. Then bring us to checkin counter, as we reach earlier, she offer us a free bicycle rental for us to roam around the beautiful c...

Nice hotel, good location (to the train station you need to take a bus, there is JR bus, for which u can use JR pass. The best is an onsen on the top of the hotel with a view on the city; both indoor and out door (man one). They stored our luggage for free. Good breakfast at extra charge, but a bit pricey (1000jpy per person).

I booked this hotel for a trip with my family of 6, specifically for the Japanese style rooms and the natural hot springs onsen. Although the fixtures in the rooms were quite dated (1980’s), the size of the rooms and the experience of staying in a Japanese style room was a nice change from the small business hotels we stayed at in other cities in japan. One of the best hotels I have ever stayed in, certainly considering the incredible value for money. This boutique hotel merges Western and Japanese style perfectly with a super-attentive staff, relaxed but luxurious athmosphere, incredible attention to detail and a perfect guest experience. This hotel is the very definition of a boutique hotel and can be measured agai...

If you can't find other hotels for reasonable price this hotel is pretty good. It's old, and there is smell of smoke but in the room it's ok. I was satisfied , for one night , 3 people in the room I paid 10 000 yen, it's pretty cheap. The hotel is near the station, also Starbucks is not far. We parked our car near the hotel for 1500 yen per 24 hours.

The location of the hotel is not the best one, it is in a Kanazawa district which is not really far from downtown, but you need to take a long walk to reach the city center. Still if the purpose is visiting Kanazawa the this hotel is a good option, it is clean, good rooms, the bed is a little small but I guess that always happens in Japan.

The hotel is across the street from the train station; is brand new with beautiful, large (for Japan) rooms; features a Pronto coffee shop on the first floor; and has super-comfortable beds. It might be slightly more expensive than the other hotels in the area, but it is probably worth it.

Hotel Kanazawa is located less than a 5 minutes walk from the eastern exit of JR Kanazawa Station, making it very convenient to get to especially after a long train trip. Right in front of the hotel is the local bus interchange/hub, where buses going to all corners of the city start their journey. Also, buses going to the famous attraction of Shirakawa-go depart from t...

This was the first stop of our two weeks in Japan, and we fell in love with Kanazawa and in large part to HATCHi. We booked a whole room for our group of 5, which came with 4 bunk beds (8 beds) and huge windows to look out onto the street. Beautiful any time of the day. The city is so quiet and it's a really short walk to everything we wanted to do in Kanazawa - the ol...
Cheap places to stay in Ishikawa Prefecture

Very clean, well organized and pleasant. Perfect location, close to the station, and walking distance to the market and all the sites. However, you have to be aware that it is very tiny. not for people traveling with lots of stuff of too bulky... the photos tell it.

The hostel is really central and at walking distance from all the sightseeing spots and from Kanazawa train station. It is extremely clean and the beds are comfortable. The best thing is the staff tho: the guy at the reception (can’t remember the name, sorry!) is super welcoming and chilled and when I asked him help to find a doctor he did everything he could to help m...

We enjoy walking, so the 10-25 minutes to all the top sights were nice for us. Great value for money. We were 4 minutes from the station, yet on a quiet street with one of the best and sake bars EVER with extremely professional connoisseurs. The hosts were so friendly and great to chat with. They were also so helpful in recommending spots to eat and drink in the town t...

I was really looking forward to staying in a traditional Japanese house. The room was good, futon very comfortable. Bathroom, toilet and kitchen very clean. The problem was that the walls are thin as paper and my room was next to a sitting room with a tv right next to the wall. Althought the staff were very friendly, they sat in the sitting room from the afternoon unti...

It was a pleasant single night there. The staff is friendly and provide explanations available in English as well. The dormitory part in itself is also very clean and there is everything you need : towels, pajamas, toothbrush, hair comb, beauty products ... A locker is available for you to put your bag in (not a suitcase tho, but there is a dedicated space for that too...

I stayed here for three nights and really liked this place. It’s clean, there’s a nice kitchen you can use, enough showers, the beds are comfortable, and you can sit in the backyard. Every bed has outlets and the WiFi works fine. The hosts are extremely lovely and helpful. But the cutest of all is the little daughter - one of the sweetest kids I’ve ever met. She’s a su...

This was one of my favourite places. The staff Welcome was outstanding, warm and kind. This place is a bit different, it’s not about making money, but genuinely giving something back. The night I arrived they organised a meal for all of the guests to eat together and it was such a memorable evening, with lots of opportunity to chat and learn more about Kanazawa and Jap...

I travel to Shaq Bighouse when I was staying in Kanazawa. Although it is not situated near Kanazawa station, rather it situated near many tourist attractions include Ohmicho market, Kanazawa Castle and Kenrokuen. Simply take off the luggage and you can take just few minutes to walk there. The hostel is unlike what I lived in Japan previously. The concourse at ground fl...

Bed is spacious, clean and quite. They has shower & toilets for female only. Although the common room is tiny, but it is nice. They even have free tea and coffee plus water dispenser. When I was there, i could hear jazz music from neighbors cafe was playing softly. It was nice. Location superb, walking distance to Kenrokuen and other places (except Higa Chaya District)...

After 2 weeks in Japan, we stay 1 night in Kanazawa. From all those hostel and hotel we stayed, this is the best! Close to bus station, rent bike for 1 day for ¥400, kitchen to cook, laundry and specially the super nice kind and friendly host which even ride us to train station because of raining. He write on our map for places that he recommend us to go, and tell us i...

Book this hotel at same evening of arrival, once arrived, found all town are full of APA hotel. They provide onsen coupon, this service is provided in another APA hotel nearby. The parking is packed and small, we had a hard time on parking, but we still enjoy our stay with APA.

Previous reviews confused me but they were wrong or confused! This was the perfect hotel. Clean, amazing bed, spacious room by Japan standards, close to the train station, and they have an onsen which is great for after a long day of sightseeing. Perfect place to stay if you are on holiday. The hotel was quiet and we got a great night's sleep. Would definitely stay t...

Location: Depends on your preference, Sararaso location can be very good or slightly out of the way. It's located in right along the river side and a picturesque neighborhood that's just 20 minutes leisure walk from 'downtown' Kanazawa. You can always rent their bike (highly recommended). We found ourselves walking all the way to the garden. Service: Sararaso was ac...

I visited Yuwaku because of the anime Hanasaku Iroha. I tried booking ryokan in Yuwaku, however, most of them don't serve one guest, so I had no choice but choose to stay in Yuwaku Guest House. I book the family room, which is big enough for a family, although I am the one and only one stay there. I have to set up my own bed before sleep because there is no one se...

Pros: 1. The breakfast and dinner buffet offered here is simply excellent for what you pay for 2. The lake view from guestroom is ultimate which you can view the sunrise from horizontal line 3. The staff are incredibly friendly, the rooms are very relaxing, and the onsen is amazing. If you are looking for a couple days of relaxation during hour trip, this is a great place to do it. Note, you should be comfortable with traditional Japanese food to really enjoy the experience. Definitely have the dinner. There is no lunch served on the property. Note, there are...

This is a very highly rated hotel according to some taiwanese publications, its great. All female staffers (tradition of a ryokan) the rooms are huge compare to the modern ryokan. Price very reasonable, food is great (but only average for japanese standard).

The hotel has superb public spas along with amazing drum performance as entertainment for their customers. P. S. Shout out to one of their receptionists(slightly tan skinned young male wearing glasses) was extremely helpful and friendly during our stay at the hotel. He folded crane and frog origamis for us as well as volunteerily taken lots of photos for us in fron...

They dont provided shuttle bus from station to Hotel and very inconvience if you misses the local bus. Also, the taxi driver is very dishonest, purposely drive slowly and let the meter to click more $$. It cost Yen 2200 to reach the hotel. The room face totally towards the sea and the dinner and breakfast were very good. The bath is not very impressive, they only have ...

First of all, I love the room overlooking the Daisoji River. The bath is just as amazing as the room. Meals are served in a common dining hall, it was crowded during my stay but the service was excellent. The souvenir shop in the hotel sells a variety of sweets and snacks too. The walk along Daisoji River and Kakusenkei Gorge outside the hotel is relaxing. Overall, I t...

Kokusai hotel might be far from the city's centre but you can rent a bicycle and cycle your way to the most famous sightseeings. The service was very friendly and helpful. The actual room was spacious and had an incredible view. Everything was tidy and clean, nothing seemed to be out of order. I would most definitely book another night just to get away of the big city!...

The Square hotel was great. It’s very well located in between the train station and the castle, I walked everywhere. The hotel seems brand new, the room was spacious (by Japanese standards) and very well equipped... also some nice touches. I had to come back to Kanazawa due to another trip cancellation and immediately booked The Square again. Helpful and nice staff, i...

I stayed in this hotel for 1 night and was pretty satisfied with everything. Clean and spacious room (twin in the 8F), variety of food and drinks in baffle-style breakfast (both Japanese and western) and very friendly and helpful staff (a lady at the breakfast lounge offered me a unique Amazake, sweet drink made of fermented brown rice flavored with great tea!) Im Ja...

Our stay was extremely pleasant as we were blessed with a pleasant room, extremely helpful staff and sumptuous meals. It fulfilled our desire of a more unique and traditional stay and by far exceeded our expectations. Mikki, the female attendant who was helping us most of the time made our stay especially inviting as she was very warm and welcoming. On top of doing wh...

For 2 of us, the stand alone 2 level house with 3 rooms was just too big. We did not know that when we book. It should not be named as Ryokan, which usually include full service. Basically it was like renting a home, without any attending staff. The area is also in the middle of entertainment district with restaurants, bars and karaoke joints.

Very impressive with all the excellent services provided by all staff, though they can't speak in fluent English, they help and serve with all the best they can. Hotel can arrange free shuttle from the train station to hotel directly. Moreover, be very relaxed in the hot spring looking at a stunning ocean view. Thumbs up for everything here!
