Where to stay in North Sulawesi
North Sulawesi hotels & accommodations

place and room are nice, you also get the best favorite hot tub which is almost anytime favorite place, nice beach but beach sand is not really good, for best beach view position, try to get higher floor such as 3rd or above as 1st and 2nd is blocked by lot of trees.

If you are looking for a base to explore land options around north Sulawesi, this hotel is a very comfortable base to start. 20 mins from airport and located in the main "hotel" street its location is about as good as any other similar rated hotels. Its not the fanciest but the rooms are very comfortable and clean. ( we got a dulux on 8th floor). Wat sets it apar...

Simply amazing! We had the best time we could have in Bunaken. The resort is perfect with really good beach where to swim and snorkel. The dive Centre works perfectly and the dive masters are the best we could wish for. The staff is so friendly that we end up every evening singing with them under the moonlight in front of the bar. Rhomé and Max are the cherry at the to...

Had a great 5 days inbetween fairs in Asia. Many thanks to all the staff - very Friendly and professional. Special thanks also to all the Dive crew & of course Justin & Dolfi for the great underwater experience and showing all the little criters there are around. My best wishes hope to be back in the near future Patrick - Switzerland

We stayed in this hotel twice on our way to and from our diving destinations. The first room we were given was on the second, that is ground, floor and was a previously smoking room. And the smell was still lurking. The shower was a bit leaky and moldy. Nothing terribly bad, but not perfect. The second room we got was on the fourth floor, spacious and spotlessly clean....

Overall I found the hotel very/overly expensive for fairly standard offering. and I found it odd that the whole stay had to be paid in full 6 weeks prior to arrival. The food (breakfast, evening buffet/bbq) was mediocre. The staff were very nice. We were not lucky with the room where we had no hot water in the room for 75% of our stay despite many efforts by the friend...

We enjoyed our stay with Diane and Terry and their staff. We dove and snorkeled the house reef, alternating every day. Dive guide Dempsey was wonderful to dive with. He found amazing things like a rare yellow pygmy seahorse, ornate ghost pipefish, robust pipefish and endless nudibranch. I have always liked the Luikan 2 dive but Mike's corner is a wonderful site and new...

It has a potential to be a good hotel, the location, facilities, room amnenities,etc... But the way the staff handle the problem was very poor, seems that they dont know what to do to solve things... -upon arrival, the security staff asked us to go up to the parking area to unloading luggage instead of the lobby on ground floor, which hotel trolley & bellboy is on the gro...

My stay at the Aston Manado hotel was very good. When I initially arrived at the hotel they did not have a non-smoking room available so showed me to the lounge and offered me free drinks until a room was available. Thankfully, it did not take very long to sort out. I have stayed in 4 hotels in Manado to date and this one was by far the best. It was very good value for...

I stayed at Biz Boulevard hotel every time for several good reasons: First of all, it is only took me 5 minutes to go to Megamall shopping complex. If you are looking for super cheap accessories for your phone, head straight to 'Bintang', or even better, visit the IT centre, this is a good place for buying handphone, cameras, laptop etc. close by to Megamall too. Apot...

Good service in Chacha, everyone is very nice with real smile. The chief is good at Italian food, better than mostly restaurant in China. The food is very healthy and changed everyday. Amazing view in the sea, so many fishes and corals surrounding. Mull, the snorkeling guide, always pull and protect me to preventing the strong flow. Raf, the owner, is very patient an...

I needed a room for a night in Manando while changing planes on a diving holiday, and I ended up staying three nights. The room was ideal for me: good wifi, room safe, nicely furnished and perfectly clean. During my stay the staff were attentive and efficient. After I left I realised that stupidly I had left a small and slightly valuable possession behind in the room. ...

Hotel managers getFront desk managers ,staff spoke excellent english. They were patient problem solvers. All major us chains could learn. Some rooms are tired. Some are extraordinary. All receive a top quality breakfast buffet with 20 or more dishes and multiple fresh prep stations and that amazing strong fresh brewed sulawesi coffee.

We stayed with Bastianos 4 nights in April and really enjoyed our stay. It is a high class resort with all comfort included. The food buffet was one of the best in Indo including breakfast. The dive equipment may need some update and the costs for all activities (excursions, massages, dives) are rather at the upper price end of spending niveau in Indonesia.

Istanaku Guesthouse was an excellent place to stop over in Manado. We travelled all over North Sulawesi from Manado and it was very easy to get a grab car to and from the airport and to arrange personal pickups to Tangkoko, Tomohon, Bitung and Bunaken. The room is cosy with a modern toilet and TV channels in English and the staff were polite and helpful, seeing to al...

This was a great resort. It's almost like Bruce and his family are inviting you to stay with him in paradise for a few days and just happens to have a few extra bungalows for you to enjoy. It's definitely not five stars, but they truly care whether you are enjoying yourself and the staff will go out of their way to accommodate you.

This was the second time I stayed at this hotel (first time in 2009). I arrived after midnight after a evening flight from Jakarta, and was greeted warmly by the doorman and front office staff. Besides its convenient location, close to the Manado Convention Center and shopping areas, the rooms were also nice and cosy. I stayed there for 3 nights and was always greeted...

They Just Open arround April-May 2018. The room still Good, and the Staff very Kind. The Food is Okay. Very Unique Theme/ Thematic/ Boutieq hotel at Manado, the First hotel with a great Theme in Manado. They Design by Switzerland interior design. They also “go green” hotel, with all straw from aluminium. And we can Refill mineral Water infinitely, because they profide ...

I stayed there for one night before going to Daniels resort in Lembeh. I had a warm welcome and felt like home. The staff organised a transport for the next day to the port of Bitung and made sure that I choose the right boot :), thank you again for offering this service to me. The Hotel itself is situated in a beautiful tropical garden (really well maintained), aw...

We got a family room for 2 nights and it was large and spacious with hot water (a rare thing in Indonesian accommodations). The owners were accommodating with our schedules which saw us leaving very early in the day and was able to prepare breakfast for us at about 6am. The double room was dimly lit due to the bed structure blocking the light. Because of the dim ligh...

We booked the cheapest room for one night. When we arrived very late they upgraded us to their best room which was huge with a great view from the private veranda. Everything about this place was awesome and the staff was exceptionally friendly and really helpful, too. We would definitely recommend the Highland Resort if you plan to explore the Tomohon Highlands. Wish ...

I had a amazing stay at Two Fish Divers Bunaken! The place is very beautiful, super clean (the bedsheet smell so fresh) and well maintained. Swimming pool and garden are ultra clean too. The shower has hot water and the room provided with fans (we didnt feel hot). We do not dive but joined the snorkeling tour, it was amazing despite the half rainy/cloudy weather, the v...
Cheap places to stay in North Sulawesi

It is not an hotel, it is a homestay.Room is simple (a matress, a desk and a fan) but it makes the job. And price of the room is cheap (including breakfast). So perfect for us. Breakfast was really good. Matress and pillow were really confortable (appreciated after a long travel). I loved this place because you ahve the feeling to be a local. Breakfast was really good,...

It's self was ok. Clean, welcoming but we were unfortunate with our room. It was SO SMALL!! We got the tankard double room which didn't even have a double bed. A King single which was squishy for two people. Also the size of the room was bad if you have any bags with you! We had to sets of diving gear and that left no floor space to walk. Bathroom was dirty with hairs ...

The accommodation is basic but clean and confortable. The owners Olga and Opa are charming and really helpful, they help us to organice a half day snorkel trip and a boat to come back to the mainland. Olga is also a great cooker, everyday we ate fresh grilled fishes. Unfortunately we only spent 1 day.

We booked Manado Grace Inn on our way to Manado. For the first night they gave us a standard room which are very small, not even space to put your bags (or suitcases) and move around, good for 1night. We however have been upgraded to a bigger room since we needed it for a few nights. The hotel is very close to Immigration by walking distance (very good for visa extensi...

Do not stay here. Novita see's you as a source of money and that's it. I had a terrible experience at Novita's Homestay, and unfortunately left Bunaken with a sour taste in my mouth. Novita becomes rude if you don't dive with the shop she recommends. She will pry you for information on where you are eating and where you are diving so that she can pester them for comm...

hard to imagine there is a better place in town for this price. in fact, it was probably the best quality room for the price (200k) in my 4 weeks in sulawesi. super clean, good bed, everything felt new or recently painted, great hot water shower, very helpful staff, artistic hotel and room design, hot & cold (a rarity) drinking water on every floor, and even a rooft...

Hotel is smoking ! Some non smoking on the 3rd floor but you have to walk through lobby and cafeteria of smokers, guests and staff. Smoking in the rooms too. So I just stayed away. The TV had static but had some English stations so a little bit of entertainment was had. No toilet paper. AC remote broke in the night. Phone didn’t work. Would only stay again because of l...

I like the hotel staffs. Very nice and pleasant. The room we booked was good enough for us to stay. For budget wise I believe this is the one. This hotel also offers affordable tours in Manado. And also local food outlet can be found nearby. Nothing to worry. As for transport to town centre or to the airport, taxis always available at the hotel area.

Our stay at Leos was amazing. The rooms are clean and have everything you need. However, the best part is the friendliness of the staff. They are always willing to help you with everything you need. Also, we would like to thank Ben once again for the amazing tour to Mt. Lokon and all the tips he gave us. We liked Tomohon more than we thought thanks to all his help. ...

Living Peach House is about 800m from Manado Airport. If you are travelling light, you can actually walked there. As I arrived at night and as I have my dive gear with me, I took a taxi from the airport and was charged Rp50K!!! I stayed there for one night. The next morning the staff was kind enough to book a GRAB taxi for me, and it costs only Rp15K. This is a good p...

As the title suggests, our double room in this hotel was small ( our suit cases occupied much of the available floor space) and the ensuite toilet so small I had to use the WC sitting/standing side ways. The best feature was the dining room/bar which offered value- for- money meal & drink deals. This allowed me to award 3 stars in the Value for Money section. The...

The room was almost brand new so lovely and clean good choice of tv channels bathroom was lovely with truly the best shower in a very long time! Breakfast was Indonesian with a few rolls and jam if you didn't fancy rice. The hotel is in a fairly good location it is about 10 mins walk to shops and beach. The staff were very helpful and made a couple of phone calls for u...

I have traveled Asia a lot and stayed at a lot of budget accommodation and cheap hotel. This was the worst I have ever stayed at. And booking via Agoda I assumed it must be at least ok. We arrived late at night and had a lot of trouble finding it as their location provided is incorrect! Took the staff 30mins to check us in to a room. The room they gave us the door coul...
4-star hotels in North Sulawesi

My second stay at this hotel. First stay was perfect. 2 nd stay for 10 days completely different story. Staff are all excellent and always keen to help. Although the restaurant has the latest food heater none of th...

Hello, We had just finished our travels around Indonesia and landed in Manado after a hot and sticky time on Bunaken Island so we were fairly tired and in need of some rest. Having read the reviews about the poor room quality and lack of Wi-Fi I took a chance and booked a Superior room purely on the photos and a quick google earth search. What we found: The hotel ...

Given the central location, the proximity to the harbourside and city centre, the breakfast service and the good facilities in the room, my stay of 4 nights was very comfortable - not outstanding but seamless. The staff was excellent. Very helpful and expert. The hotel experience was complemented by the many joys of Manado, Minahasa culture and the food, beaches and hi...

The beach was good, nice white sand strip with sitting area on the beach front. The staffs were friendly and helpful. The bed was big and cozy. The problems: - Wi-fi connection only near the reception area, and was always down except when I got there. - Jellyfish swarmed the beach on my 2nd day - The owner of the hotel held a private party on the beachfront all night,...

This was the part of our Sulawesi trip that my partner and I splurged on, as we really wanted to go diving at Lembeh Strait and we found a decent deal on agoda. The hotel room was clean and beautifully decorated with all the facilities you could desire. The staff were very helpful. The food in the restaurant was delicious, with a buffet or a la carte option for lunch a...
Luxury hotels in North Sulawesi

After travelling around Indonesia in Sulawesi and the Maluku Islands, we've seen some fairly average and overpriced accomodation. Through the Agoda sight, we got an excellent deal which allowed us a few nights of luxury, a nice break from the places we've been staying in. The room was virtually spotless (not perfect, but very acceptable) and well appointed. Staff we...

This resort was fantastic. The accommodation, location and diving amenities were second to none. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and always anticipated your needs. The food was also delicious and well presented. The diving facilities were top notch and everything was done for you if you wanted them to, even down to cleaning your mask. The 5 boats are ...

This is simply one of the best staycation i’ve ever had Great atmosphere, great view, friendly staff, great foods. And we came in perfect time when the resort throwed independence day party for all the guests and siladen people. We had a really great time celebrating independence day by the beach.
