Zhejiang Province hotels & places to stay

We stayed there a couple years ago and never had a second thought about paying another visit. You almost can’t beat this hotel’s location, just a 10-minute walk to West Lake and the busiest shopping district in Hangzhou. There’s a metro station there as well. As for the hotel, large, spacious and very clean rooms with a fresh fruit plate every day. Most basic amenities are provided and upgraded products are also available in the room for a fee. The shower has strong hot water (a refreshing change from most other hotels in China.) The breakfast buffet is huge but mostly local food and is on the top floor overlooking West Lake. Accommodation-wise, this 4-star hotel actually differs very little from many of the “5-star” hotels we’ve stayed at in China. Especially taking into account the price, what’s not to like! Unlike comments from other foreigners, service throughout is actually fine–if you can speak Chinese. You know what they say, “When in Rome...”

I was born and raised in Shanghai, and going to Hangzhou used to be my weekly thing. After I moved to the states, I still manage to go to Hangzhou each time I visit Shanghai. I’ve stayed in so many hotels near Westlake. The State Guest house is by far the overall the best! There are guards to check each car that goes into the site. The entire property is a giant park. Instead of enjoying the Westlake from outside with so many tourists, you are able to enjoy the lake view from inside the Guest House. But, do make sure to book building 8 since it’s the newer building with nicer rooms! Even their spa is world class! Way better than the ones I’ve had in Hawaii!

booked last minute via agoda. this is the place where client recommended. travelling in china near zhejiang, hangzhou is a very lovely place to stay and travel. this hotel is conveniencing for business and leisure travellers. sizable bed and perfect location enhanced people to book again. if hotel offer breakfast for booking will be another good point to visit again....

Great new hotel, location perfect for sightseeing and shopping. Staff simply wonderful. Stayed on club floor where you can eat a very hearty breakfast overlooking the lake. We ate and drank in their Mid-Town Brewery, where the hotel brew their own craft ales and offer some wonderful food, and cockt'ales made from their ales. My husband was in heaven! A wonderful hotel. Already thinking of another excuse to go back!

When we got into the room, it gave us a "wow", such a big beautiful room with trendy decoration. The view was good but maybe the other side directly facing the lake would be even more beautiful. The hotel seems to have two parts, hotel rooms for vacationers and private houses for residents facing even more beautiful scene of the lake. Breakfast was good and the service level is up to standard. The hotel is located in the new area just near the highway connecting Hangzhou and Shanghai and it was very convenient for us as we drove our own car there with free parking. Easy to find it and the town is not big so within 20 minutes ride you can go anywhere. Additional charges for room's internet connection but free at the lobby and coffee shop.

Clean room and surrounding public areas, the facility looks a bit old but looks are not what an hotel is about, this facility has lasted a great impresión compared to other better rated hotels I have stayed worldwide, this hotel deserves a 5 star rating. Excellent breakfast and staff ready to help at any moment. Definitely I would return to Yiwu and stay at the Best Western Premier Ocean Hotel.

Took my parents to visit Hangzhou. Glad that I booked Xizi hotel. The ground is one of most beautiful garden in China with pleasant smell of fragrant tea olive in October. It has very long shoreline of West Lake and great views of most sightseeing points of the lake. Staffs are very friendly and helpful. They transported us to and from different gates since any time we needed. They also helped us to get taxi. Fresh fruits are provided everyday. We also get snacks for afternoon tea. Buffet breakfast is amazing with huge choices and great quality. Unfortunately, we didn't have time enjoying the Gym and swimming pool. They also provided one hour free tour of the hotel. I learned a lot of the hotel history from the tour. It is the best location for all sightseeing and restaurants. Highly recommended. I will stay here next time I visit Hangzhou.

The Shangri la is a sprawling grand hotel, almost two hotels in one, in luxurious Chinese governmental style in a delightful setting. It was the first big international hotel to work with the state in Hangzhou ( or so I believe). It is away across the water on the other side of the broken bridge, with the city out of sight. It is near the causeway across the lake and has jetties for boatrides. The Shangri la is an older hotel and its restaurants' presentation fits the idiom. The food is good. A wood fired pizza oven in a restaurant that opens beyond 9pm on this side of the lake is pleasing. The lunch buffet at the chinese restaurant offers a great range of dishes that those acquainted with how to juxtapose dishes will appreciate. Light and delicate steamed pumpkin cakes amidst savoury dumplings can be challenging for newbies to China. the Shangri la has a sports centre within its leafy grounds -I didn't try pool but I did have a v good traditional massage. Staff at were efficient. You may find individuals who have yet to master international hospitality polish and others whose language skills render them a little abrupt but I came across some particularly helpful staff.

This is probably one of the best hotels We have stayed in, anywhere. The hotel lobby is very impressive as is the number of staff on hand to help. The hotel lobby ambassadors are a great idea as they help the booking in process, although a shock at first as to how attentive they are. The warm towels. And green tea when you are booking in is a nice touch. The room we had first was great except the air conditioning did not work properly but when we mentioned it we were moved to a suite. We even had the services of a butler, not something we are used to. All the staff were friendly and nothing to much trouble. Indeed one of the lobby ambassadors was a great help when we were trying to book rail tickets back to Shanghai. Nothing was too much trouble. We can not rate this hotel too highly. If you go to Ningbo stay at this hotel you will not regret it

I'm traveling on business at Hangzhou China frequently, and I am staying a the Grand Metropark Hotel Hangzhou at most time. At the recent staying at this hotel (2018. 09. 10 ~ 2018. 09. 13, Room 1605), Cheng Li and Xiao Xing the receptionists give me good service as changing my room into twin beds, arranging my courier package and explaining hotel complimentary service with kind. And I was satisfied with the newly decorated breakfast restaurant furnishing abundant food at the 1st. floor. Whenever I'm visiting Hangzhou, I will stay at this hotel and this hotel deserves to be strongly recommended.

We stayed for a romantic getaway away from the city, and as the location is a bit random, there's nothing of import in the entire area. The subway however is very close. The hotel is very big and the restaurants are pricey. We got a 70% discount t on our room and didn't feel like spending almost the same amount on a single meal. The pool is nice. And the breakfast was decent, not quite five star standard but with a large selection. Overall it was a very relaxed and romantic stay.

Pros: 1. Close to Futian International Trade Center 2. Connecting to Big and Great Mall 3. Food Choice and shopping at Mall is great (many popular brand stores) 4. Both room and toilet is clean with great design and facilities 5. Bed is very comfortable, aircon is good as well Cons: 1. Hard to find Taxi especially during fair. you can try to book with Didi (like Uber). 2. No Shuttle bus for the Fair, which is make me trouble to find taxi back from the fair (almost 2 hour find taxi at the fair, crazy). 3. Some Facilities not finished yet (Pool and Gym) on Oct 2017 4. Breakfast not too great and suitable for 5 star hotel.. Same food every morning -_- 5. Expensive rate (Should give some special rate during renovation of pool and gym)..

The service and the staff were great. There is a big window to look out at the beautiful Xihu lake. There is also a mirror by the window to reflect the view into the room. Beauty beyond description. The swimming pool is great. The dinner buffet at the hotel is definitely one of the best: great selections and high quality. The hotel is right by the lake. There are boats and taxis and buses right outside the hotel. We hired a driver via a company for our three-day visit, though. The driver charges 550 RNB for 10 hours a day. Five hours minium per day for RNB380. RNB40 for every extra hour. With the driver standing by, we were able to stop by the hotel to take a quick nap or a shower and went on to the next scenic site. The hotel is very clean. It offers free bottled water and brings you ice anytime you ask. Great Great Great service. Our teenager signed up for Internet service without our approval. The front desk told me that the service could not be dropped. My husband called and right away they agreed to drop the service and the charge. When I asked how many bottles of water we could have, I was told there was a limit of 2 for each guest per day, but when my husband called and asked for three more, the hotel delivered them right away. This is the only thing I cannot figure out why.

If they can maintain pricing at or below the nearby Best Western Yiwu, then they would be the better choice. Bigger rooms, newer building and the Xin Guang Hui Mall is right behind it. Breakfast is good with ample choices. Lighting in the room was bright enough for me to read small prints with the help of a table lamp. Air-conditioning was responsive. Mattress was comfy and they provided 2 pillows per person, yayyy! Water pressure in the bathroom was good. Soap and the usual consumables were provided. Towel was strangely non absorbant. I think they were using cheaper non 100% cotton. It left my skin feeling damp and clammy...a very unpleasant feeling. Another drawback is when it rains. With Best Western, you can walk through the Trade Market building all the way to the hotel. But at New Century, there is a vast expanse of open road to cross under the rain.

I was warmly welcomed by Captian Candy, the sweetest hotel staff I have met in all my China trips. She help us feel at ease as this is our first visit to Hangzhou. It is a simple, clean, very pleasant budget hotel located in the middle of all the best sights and shopping area. Cannot ask for more for such a great price. You can walk to the beautiful West Lake. The hotel is on the Pedestrian only footpath and connect to the famous Old Street. A long long street of food and China's productts housed in solid traditional Chinese Architecture. My wife falls sick and there is a wonderful Staff (captain) Candy was so helpful and caring. She help us find the mearest pharmacy and direct me to get medicine, My wife did not get well and finally we decided to send her to hospital. Again Candy helped us call the ambulance and arrange for the doctor and nurses to our room. She was treated and went on drip. After a day she was discharged. Candy visited her and comfort her. Candy deserve full 10stars for her lovely and caring heart.

Definitely value for money. For the same price at a hotel room we can get a grand serviced apartment stay here. Best thing is it comes with a washer & dryer (good for us to wash our clothes especially on long trips here in Hangzhou i.e 14 days). We love the living room size and dining table too! And the u-shape kitchen that comes with it! We just love the overall feel. Very comfortable. Opposite the hotel is a Electronics Mall. And around the corner is a Starbucks, Macdonalds, Pizza store, Watsons, Ramen, Thai Restaurant and also a minimart behind the escalator. You can travel around by bus. Or their local App (Didi) to call for fast 'taxi' kuai che or even train. Song Cheng 宋城 is a must go! U will love it. The Song Dynasty Town. >>> Go for the sofa seating when u watch the show 《宋城千古情》U will feel like the emperor among the audience. They even serve you snacks and 龙井茶 (during the show). The free shuttle service is great. Since there are not many guests taking advantage of this service from Shanghai, we had a leisurely ride on a 7-seater van, and time spent on the road was just slightly over 3 hours. The hotel is located near major sightseeing spots, which means you can take a leisurely walk from hotel. There is a travel agent inside the Business Centre where they can help you book trains. Very swift and good service. The breakfast buffet is above average, as compared with many 5-star hotels.

This place was perfect for us, clean and quiet with windows that open! The office where you get the rental bikes is about a 10 minute walk and there is a bike stall just outside the hotel. There is also an AMAZING restaurant on the block. Just take a right out the door and it's the fancy ish looking one about 3 buildings down on the same side of the street as the hotel. They have a picture menu and homemade liquor on the counter. Staff at the hotel spoke no English but they made it work with a translator app. The lake is crazy crowded and about a 10 minute walk away, it was nice to leave that area and come back to a quiet block at the end if the day. Get the bikes! Super cheap and super easy to use.

we stayed for one night. we used the indoor pool and gym. all the facilities are what you would expect in a 5 star hotel. the design of the hotel is very modern with art around. you can look over the lake in restaurant (one in hotel and not the seafood one in resort part- we didn't go there). grounds really peaceful and there is a really nicely designed teahouse. overall really recommend it for a long weekend, but i would stay in the hotel and not bother going around ningbo much. we haev a lot of friends there and they could not recommend anything really special about about from this hotel.

i had a brief ttip to Hangzhou, and if i'd had any idea, i would have stayed 5+ days. Considering i only use a hotel for safe sleeping, the Sofitel fit the bill. It is a little bit dated and could use some freshening up. But i am not there to chill in a hotel room. The room is comfortably sized and the beds are large and comfy too. A nice bathroom as well. Only "complaint" is that there was a view only into the building across- very close. so drapes had to be closed at all times. Additionally, the windows don't seem to seal well, or there is a duct issue. I am not sure which but i awoke each morning to pungent cigarette smoke smell in the room that made me actually check to see if the windows were open. The staff is really helpful. especially the lovely lady in the business centre who helped us arranged train tickets for our next 2 destinations. She could not have been more helpful. the cocktail lounge in the lobby serves pretty nice drinks at a good price. it is a shame it closes relatively early. but it seems the way in China. The hotel is across from the lake and is a perfect location for accessibility to all the things around the WestLake area that you can get to on foot.

Everything was good, spacious clean room, comfortable bed, decent breakfast and buffet dinner, plenty of facilities to let the kid play around. Downside was indoor pool had a strong smell of pool/chlorine, the reason didn’t go there. Hotel’s playground charges daily for an access was bit strange. Due to hotel was fully booked check-in process took ages, but the long wait ended up luck of updated room.

This Hotel is really very nice and worth every cent I paid for staying there, the staff are very much welcoming and they try thier best to help even though some time thier English get a little in the way, but any way the over all is very pleasing , I advice all vistors to try the spa in this Hotel its made in very high standerd, and the they really know how to relax you a way from a hard long day work, the food as I said eariler is very good and tastey and so many kinds offered to meet your tase. Hotel is located at the west side of west lake, at a less crowded location. 5 only walk from the hotel access to part of the lake is even more beautiful than those famous attraction on the lake. Hotel Front desk are very friendly and helpful. Help us to arrange a taxi using her private phone when the booking hot line can't get a taxi. Opposite hotel in a local resident street have so many small family operated local restaurant. Price is cheap and food are so delicious. My daughter love it so much Will definitely return back when visit Hangzhou again.

From check in to the room is great. It was my second stay there. However I need to commend on the cafe that serves breakfast. The hot food section does not taste good and the selection is mediocre. Spring roll is dry bacon is not crispy to name a few. Fruit selection is few and the cold cuts tasted horrible. Apart from that staffs are not even attentive and a distinct lack of an occasional smile. The Japanese restaurant which was mentioned in the guest directory is sub par on it food. Sashimi is not that fresh and overly cold. Soy sauce that comes with it is not suitable and the wasabi tasted cheap. Sushi is also not made well with loose grains in the platter served. Basic service SOP is lacking as they serve sashimi, sushi, soup and fried rice all at the same time to an individual. I know that it is not under the hotel management but since it was mentioned in the guest directory, I would at least expect a certain standard. The establishment is great but I felt it is let down by the quality of the food and F&B staffs.

Pro: everything was walking distance. The laowai Ave, the best seafood restaurant, the cheap good market etc. The train station was only 2.8km. Most amazing breakfast I have ever had in any Chinese hotel. And I have been in china for a while Con: the restaurants on the premises of the hotel were kinda pricey. I can understand being expensive as it’s a very niceish hotel but ¥22 for a can of Coke that cost ¥6 in any outside store. That is a huge mark up and kinda pushing it. The breakfast buffet was amazing but the food was refilled very slowly.
