this hotel is currently being refurbished but this should not put off the budget conscious traveller. the facilities are good and the breakfast is satisfactory. the hotel is located next door to another resort that is considerably more expensive. having stayed at both places the River Beach gets my vote

Nice room. The staff are really nice and very helpfull. They like to chat with the guests and they’ll do almost anything to make you enjoy your stay. (They upgraded our room when we arrived and let us stay a couple of hours after normal check out time). Included breakfast is absolutely nice with a wide palet of dishes. The hotel is placed about 3km. From Ancient town and that makes the surroundings calm and quiet. They run a free shuttle bus to the town so the distance does NOT matter. The Beach is about 200 meters away.

We stayed here with our two daughters age 5 and the other 6 months. The housekeeping staff was very nice and put together the two beds so we had one huge bed (much larger than a king size bed). We would also like to give a huge thanks to the housekeeping staff as they found one of our iPhones after we left... called the taxi driver we booked to the airport and had the phone returned to us before we boarded the plane. We are so thankful for their kindness, and honesty... on top of that they had our room nice and clean each day. The food is good. The staff is friendly. The location is nice and quite compared to more in the village. Yes, they could do some updates (espically where the pool is concerned) however for the price we think it is on par and super clean.

walk across the road to beach, courtesy bus or hire motor bike to go sightseeing or into Old Town. Great little restaurants out the front in Cudai Street plus booking offices and beauty massages etc.

For the price and location I believe this hotel is ok. It needs a good maintenance clean. Rooms are dated but still good. Need some minor repair. Staff need to be more attentive to cleaning corridors and grounds. Constantly seen room service plates left outside rooms for 4 days collecting ants. Do not book this hotel on weekends if you want a quiet relaxing stay. The hotel has corporate conventions on weekends and the hotel is packed. With loud karaoke at night. So stick to mid week stays and it's quite quiet. Location is excellent. Quite close to the beach (which has suffered some errosion) but walk over the sand bags and the water is very nice. Or 5 minute cycle either north or south to better beaches. The river view rooms are recommended as there are always local fishermen going up and down are interesting to watch. Don't stay on level 3 as the views are blocked but the palm tree plants. Overall it's ok OK hotel. I have been staying here for quite a few years. But it has slowly been getting worse. So will most likely stay in a different hotel down the rd.

No overt problems with our stay. Reasonable for the price. The hotel is pretty, but older, which isn’t a problem in and of itself, but maintenance could be better. We had to ask to have our floor swept right after check in given the room was very dusty upon check in. The balconies are lovely overlooking the river, the pool is cool enough in temperature, the shuttle provides free transport into town. The breakfast was basic. Overall, it could be an exceptional place with better upkeep. We would have extended our stay, but the staff was kind enough to inform us of a wedding party planned. We usually go to bed early, so we moved to the hotel next door, and could still hear the party, so I’m very grateful for the staff’s honesty regarding optimizing our comfort.

Very nice and friendly staff. Every person always helpful, friendly, kind and supportive - especially to children. Good initiatives. Facility is a bit aged. No actual beach, but pool.

Hotel for quiet rest”
The territory is not so big, the pool is the main advantage. Hotel and facilities are very old but clean. There is river on the territory, looks nice, a little bit like your home backyard. But you can feel that many years ago it was good European hotel. Breakfast isn’t tasty. Good thing is that there is a free shuttle to the city. For 2-3 days, it’s ok.

Few years ago, I used to stay at this place. At that time, the room and the surrounding were very nice and carefully taken care of. There were a lot of foreigners staying too. This August 2019, I booked it again for a family holiday, and I had a very bad experience there. - Family room is big, but its furniture is very old, without any style decoration. - The hall and stairs are old and dirty. Especially, there were dirty dishes placed at the hallway, no staff removed them. Sunday morning, 27 Aug, the restaurant was full of guests, but buffet services was very poor. For example, one person wanted to have some water, had to wait for so long to get the glass and water. It seemed there was not enough glasses, so the staff collected and cleaned the dirty glasses. The resort has nice position, nearby the beach. But if they do not improve their facilities and services, I will never come back.

Not what was advertised”
Arrived for a quiet 5 days at the beach Told on arrival that there were 60 children staying as a summer camp for our entire length of time. U spoke with the director of the summer camp who said the kids would be using the outside facilities. Management said they would not be. We gave it 8 hours, kids were being kids playing spot light and blowing whistles. We moved out. Grounds overgrown and looking very tired.

Disappointing ”
This listing is a misrepresentation of the resort. It is in fact very run down, and in a state of disrepair. Half was under construction. Not sure where the "Private beach" was as it is not adjacent to the beachline. Coffee shop? Didn't see that either. We opted for the upgraded "Junior Suite" as this was the longest stay of our holiday and one where we planned to stay in and enjoy resort-style accommodation. The room we were shown was dirty, unkept, huge, but largely void of furniture. The furniture that was there was tired and broken. Bathroom was unhygenic. We were then shown 2 other much smaller rooms (reminded them that we booked a suite). The "Junior suite" we were then given in the end was still just a normal room with a large empty room attached to it. Staff did the best they could. I felt bad for all of the complaints they would personally have to deal with if the opinion of fellow guests was anything to go by - the few others we spoke to did not seem very impressed.
