Gracious, gorgeous, traditional”
Staying at Ruen Tubtim has been the highlight of my trip to Thailand so far. Yes, not a temple or a beach, but a hotel! I didn't realize when booking that I would need to take a 5 minute ferry back and forth from Ruan Tubtim to get to the main part of Ayutthaya, where the Historical Park and floating market are, but this was actually part of the charm. I enjoyed being on the river and not on a noisy street in town and my room was truly beautiful - polished, hinged wooden doors opening up to a floor bed with silk pillows and bedspread. With AC, a private bathroom around the corner, and a lovely common area in traditional Thai style, it was perfect. The family that runs Tubtim has been in the business a long time. They are gracious, generous, and attentive without being overly solicitous. I hope to visit them again one day. Be sure to take the boat trip with stops at three temples and a last stop to watch elephants bathing. You may, as I did, happen upon a blessing ritual at one of the temples. If so, purchase the folded orange robe on a tray, respectfully sit at the foot of the giant golden Buddha, and wait for the finale when all robes are tossed into his lap and finally unfurled over the heads of the visitors. A deeply moving ceremony, all the more so because it was unexpected.

Lovely hidden gem in Ayutthaya”
We were very happy to chose to stay at Ruen Tubtim the resort is hidden from busy city and surrounded by the 3 rivers. The room was very clean and gorgeous It made me feel like staying at my grandparent home The staff are very helpful and nice They took us out for fishing and prepare all of the gears we need ! The dinner was the best food I ever had in Ayutthaya!!!!!!! I highly recommend this lovely place It perfect for any occasion Thank you so much for such a wonderful stay and let us play with the cutest Pom :) We will be back again!!

Surprisingly Tranquil and Traditionally Thai ”
Was a little apprehensive at first about the initial encounter and boat ride to the island, but then realized how beautiful this place was. The natural setting and the attention to detail was impressive. If there was an upscale bed & breakfast in old Siam this would have been it. Friendly, accommodating and attentive staff were so kind and gracious. We all loved loved loved our short stay and our experience at Ruen Tubtim Hotel. Can’t wait to come back to Thailand and stay here again.

Great stay!”
Great traditional-style Thai house with very friendly staff. The house is located on an island which is slightly off the beaten track as you will need to get a boat to cross the river. But if you are active and able bodied I would highly recommend Ruen Tubtim Hotel as it lies on a very quiet island close to the water bringing a well needed fresh breeze to deal with Ayutthaya's heat

Had a great trip with my girl. ”
I visited Ruen Tubtim resort in August 2015. Overall I'd recommend this place. The room we had was more than adequate for the price we paid.

Gorgeous but out of the way”
If you have some time in Ayutthaya, definitely stay here! It's so reasonably priced, and the hotel and bungalows and garden are beautiful! The breakfast is excellent, but you have to ask them for either western breakfast or thai breakfast ahead of time, or they will give you what they think you would like based on stereotypes. There is a cool temple (Wat Khae) just out the back gate and down the paved lane to the right of the hotel...worth checking out; it's practically deserted but very pretty and peaceful. If you have just one day to see all the ruins in Ayutthaya, stay right next to the park instead. The hotel sends a boat to pick you up at Hua Ro (pronounced 'hwa-lo') market at anytime of day or night, with a wait time of less than 15 minutes and ride time of less than 5 minutes, but if you're on a tight schedule, this might seem more of a nuisance than a romantic adventure. We loved it but it ate up some of our sightseeing time.

Excellent”
If one has a desire to stay in a traditional Thai setting, Ruen Tubtim is the place to fulfill this wish in as comfortable an environment as is possible. A word of caution, do not rely on Google

Relexing Hotel In Ayutthaya”
Good place to be relax in ayutthaya, resort that can only be access by boat. Breakfast, dinner taste very good and price reasonable. Hotel service and cleanliness is perfect. Hotel located at an island, next to wat khae. U have to call the hotel reception to pick you up from the pier near the hua ro night market, it is a free service. When checked out I have requested a boat send me direct to the ayutthaya train-station pier, cost 150 baht.

Wonderful Thai house resory and delicious food”
I had a wonderful time staying at Tubtim resort. It was such a great experience to live in the old Thai style. Food are so delicious and served in old Thai dishes. Staffs are so friendly and helpful. You can hide a boat from the resort to travel around Ayuthaya. As it is an old Thai house, the bathroom is not inside the bedroom so ti is not so convenient. The resort is located on the island and you have to park your car on the other side of the river then contact the hotel to pick you up by boat.

Nice and private”
There was a surprise to us after arriving there. We had to take a boat cross the river to the hotel which is very nice screen at night. We arrived there about 11:00pm but still easily contacted the hotel. They can come to pick up by only 3 minutes after call. The hotel is wonderful located in Ko-Loy which is a world heritage area. The room is traditional Thai style, not so spacious but more than enough for two of us. Every room has their own toilet but outside the room as tradition Thai style. The food is so so good and very tasty. There are not so many staff but they can serve us very well. We will definitely go back again. One more good think is if you book upstairs room for 4 persons, you can take the whole floor for your privacy.

Beautiful oasis”
This hotel is a wonderful oasis in the middle of dusty, touristy Ayutthaya. The staff is so gracious, and the hotel in the traditional Siam style. Breakfast is included, so it was a great value. The only slight issue is that the hotel is located across the river. I enjoyed the fact that the hotel was located away from the other Westerners, but note you will have to either take a boat provided by the hotel or walk across the bridge to get to the city proper. I would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful Property, Great Staff, Wonderful Experience”
Best stay of my entire trip to Thailand. Really wonderful and relaxing experience on a beautiful property, with great communal spaces to hang out in, including a dining area, patio with great view, and living room. Wish we had an extra day just to hang out and read here. The staff here are also so excellent. Note that this property is on an island, so you have to take a 5 min boat ride provided by the hotel each time you want to leave the island. From there it's just a 100-200 baht tuk tuk ride away to anywhere you want to go. Ferry leaves you at the night market, across from the Ayutthaya museum.

Top experience! I felt like in a movie”
At first, we were uncomfortable about the crossing the river every time we go from the town to the hotel. Then this turned out to be the best experience. Being transferred by the boatwoman in the after dark, passing the temples, we felt like in the movie. I am sure Roger Moore would fit in this house perfectly. The most inspiring were the mornings on the terrace overlooking the river. The house is beautiful, in nice garden, with really nice looking bathrooms. The breakfast is simple, but tasteful. I would visit Ayutthaya again just to stay in this hotel!

The real Thailand”
Incredible find! If you want an adventure, to see the real Thailand, to stay with a local family, this is your place. A boat picks you up at a pier and takes you to a "floating island" where you'll be met by a friendly family who greets you at the boat dock. This place is simple, secluded and real. The daughter found out what I was interested in, made some suggestions, set up my tour making sure I got a good price with the tuk tuk driver (200 Baht/hr - under $6 US) and gave instruction to the driver when to bring me back to the pier. The mother made sure all meals were to my liking and even sat for 2 hours one evening telling her family history and the town of Ayutthaya. If you need the comforts of the Ritz, this isn't your place. But, if you want to see Thailand the way the locals do, eat real Thai food, feel like you have family in a foreign country, you'll love this place.

Amazing, quaint and historied Hotel”
I really love this hotel, and i will back again when i go to Ayutthaya. The hotel has a ancient and historied story. It had been constructed for over one hundred years. It still keep clean and beautiful. It was famous for tradition carving that the reason The king Rama 7 visited twice. IF you want to experience the Thai traditional culture, life and building, you would be worth to come. And the service is perfect, considerate and comfortable.

Ruen Tub Tim Paradise in Solace”
We were extremely pleased with our stay throughout the 3 days 2 nights trip. Initially we planned for an overnight stay in this resort, but we are touched by the friendliness of the owner and her family member that made us wanted to stay for another night, this resort is family owned and basically most of the furniture are antique, Rama 7 visited this place before. This resort is located in an island which is not accessible via car, only by boat and this island (koh loy) doesn't has any car at all, thus its green credential is fabulous, although limited by our difference of language, we get to learn a lot of the local history, architecture of the place, and etc. We had dinner at the resort as well. This resort is highly recommended, you would be assured of a pleasant experience and shall i visit ayutthaya again in the future i would certainly stay at this resort.

Charming and Unique”
My wife and I are travel directors and was hosting a private tour when we found ourselves unable to get into our usual hotel that was overbooked. We rented 3 rooms there of a traditionally wooden local style and each room had an ancient look with modern conveniences, like air. Bath was 2 shared room's for 3 bungalows, but with everything you need and shower nice and hot. The breakfast was very good and we decided to have dinner there. They need 3 hrs advance notice but wow were we in for a treat. They chef/bellman was a former Blue Elephant..5 star..head chef and fixed us an incredible dinner for just normal prices. Maybe best food in Thailand. I found out he served 17 Chinese tourists that day for lunch because they had heard about him. His story as to why he ended up there is sad and here is not the place to mention it, but if you stay eat dinner...no regrets. His brother is an Iron Chef champion and you will be in for a teat. The place is on an island and you boat to it.

Very nice little resort up the island on Chao Phraya River in the heart of Ayutthaya. Made with love in Teak Wood and traditional thai style mode. Great experience.
