Amazing!”
This is a beautiful resort built on stilts over the water. The rooms are perfect: clean, comfortable and well equipped. Most have sea view. Kayaks and snorkelling equipment are available free of charge and the restaurant offers tasty fresh food, especially seafood. Moped rental is available on site. The resort is located at the quiet end of the island which we liked. Staff are lovely and friendly and the receptionist super helpful. We loved our stay!

Excellent”
Lovely resort . Nice room and views. Tv has only Thai channels. Breakfast was very expensive . I had added it to my booking after reading a review about the delicious buffet. The buffet was cereal, toast, coffee, orange juice and sliced pineapple. After I said to the staff it was very expensive and disappointing somewhat later 2 plates with fried eggs (which my partner has an allergy to since childhood,)sausage and ham arrived. On the second morning we had a limited menu and table service from two lovely young ladies. I suspect it’s not holiday season there as it was very quiet . The lovely bus we got from Pattaya including ferry to the port cost 450B The taxi at the port was charging us 1000B to the resort. We called ahead and they sent a taxi car for us for 500B The driver was a lovely lady. I’d recommend calling ahead for the resorts taxi 30 mins before the ferry docks as it is that length of time away . The restaurant had delicious food for our evening meal and the staff were lovely. The last order was 6pm... again I guess this is due to the tourist drought.

Super charming rooms. ”
The 2 VIP rooms are fantastic, but the restaurant is now worse and worse everytime i stayed there, but quite expensive. The day with their private boat is amazing too. This area is a pure gem, also you must know there is no beach around. But You can swimm in the lagoon... Must go there one time...

Quiet beautiful place”
Really dreamy and romantic place. We slept one night in one of the villas. Beautiful view and really clean room. Staff is so friendly and the restaurant has good and fresh food. Rented a kayak to the desolate island. A bit pricey though, you pat for the view.

Movment”
Stay there three days have to move the room every single day. Salakphet is in nothing of nowhere. If u dont have a car u are in the prison for this days. The Restaurant on our days have only 50% available menu . So annoying. Never see to move the room everyday.

Amazing location, great food, great accomodation”
My partner and I chose to see the southern part of Koh Chang, a little extra baht for a taxi but well worth it. Salekphet Resort is a quiet, beautiful fishing village with enough hospitality that it doesn't ruin the authenticity of where you are staying. A must stay!

Romantic place just above the sea”
This is a fishermans village, so houses base on pillars above the sea and connected with each other and restaurant by wooden bridges. There are flowers and aromatic plants in pots along the bridges. Fantastic views on small islands, yachts, sea... We were really surprised with very good quality of rooms and bathrooms - this is very unusual for budget accommodation on Koh Chang. Very good interior, very clean, huge windows, and very romantic. It's the most far end of island's road but it's really worth to stay and relax.

Best Place on Island”
I will start with one advantage/disadvantage, it is at the end of the island on east coast, so if you like quiet it's perfect, but if you like lots of tourist pubs, lots of people than it is wrong place. All the rest I think for the price is the best you can get, the level of room was 3 star hotel (in Germany), clean, we paid cheapest rate and we got at the begging better room than standard. The whole place is on the water, with great view. Staff took us with boat to the beach, where we stayed just with one more guy if you want to leave it you just rent a motorbike and you can see the island. We visited whole island and in my opinion, the best beach is long beach, the most natural, to this beach this is the closest place. And last thing, food is just amazing, not the cheapest, but comparing to european prices it's effordable for the quality.

Quiet and calmly located hotel with friendly staff”
we had a nice time during our stay at salakphet. the hotel is about 20 km from the ferry and takes a while to locate it. however its at the very end of the island and therefore is quiet and good for those coming to relax

Nice place”
the deluxe bungalow costed 1140 bt incl breakfast (on 29-30 december 2011). if you have a corner bungalow, you can see the sea. if you have a bungalow in the second row (not vip), then you won't have any view from your window (only the bungalow opposite). some bungalows face a bit ofthe sea and the restaurant. the windows don't open, so you have to sleep with the aircon (that operate pretty quietly) or without any fresh air. there is a fridge, no kettle or cups to make tea or coffee (as it is advertised on booking.com). wi-fi is available in the resto, but it was quite whimsy and did not always work. the resto seemed to server good food, but for quite a price (in comparison with other places on the island). the breakfast that was included was nonsense (tiny cup of nescafe or black tea, a fatty omelette and toasts with jam), so we negotiated a cheaper rate without abf. the staff was friendly and helpful

Great service amazing place great food”
Had a great time, it is on the other side of the island from the main beaches so a lot quieter, which we prefer. A scooter is a must to get around. The service was good and we even got a free room upgrade. The staff where very helpful in giving advice and arranging things. The food is a must even though it is a bit expensive. there is more reasonably priced food across the road for every day.

Isolated, inhospitable, expensive food.”
This resort is extremely isolated and has no beach within 30 minutes of it. Staff welcoming but also very pushy for trips etc. Food is nice though nothing amazing and extremely expensive and only have 7 meals on the menu without seafood, down the road (5 minutes by motorbike on your right) is a fantastic little place with lovely hospitable locals, amazing food and a wonderful atmosphere, large menu at a fraction of the price, he also has beautiful huts for 200 baht....he is very happy for the company of others. Also we were told at 6pm to order our food as the kitchen closes at 8pm, we did so and the only light on in the enormous absolutely empty restaurant at 8.15pm was the one above our heads, all staff left so we couldnt even get water or a beer. The first and only meal my wife (vegetarian) had which mentioned nothing about meat on the description had pork buried at the bottom, the manager tried to tell us it was a traditional dish. The room was nice and very modern though did not have a TV as described and was only cleaned on the 4th day when we requested, also we left 2 days early. I would recommend this place to an older couple or honeymooners as it is very lonely, though still in the days there is nothing to do in the resort, only the restaurant and perhaps a dip in the ocean at your front door.

Beautiful location on the quiet side of the island”
We loved this place, and were delighted by the staff. It was difficult to communicate, though, and I don't think we ended up with the room we booked which meant a hotter room with not as nice of a view. But for one night we didn't care. They have gorgeous rooms that look out over the water - be sure to ask for those. Breakfast was very basic: either an omelet or fried egg, a little bit of fruit, toast, and coffee or tea. The seafood dinner was great, but the restaurant closed at 8pm.
