Sumi Buri Beach Resort Exceeded our Expectations!”
samui buri beach resort exceeded our expectations, especially after reading some "not so great" reviews. i'm not really sure what you could complain about with this resort. the villas were huge and after looking at photos, and reading reviews, we were surprised to find that we had our own private pool for our villa. we had expected it to be shared with other villas, but were pleasantly surprised to find out that we had it all to ourselves. i'm not sure why anyone would complain that the villas were "run down" or needed an update, etc. these villas were very clean, very well maintained, and very very quaint. the staff of the resort were very friendly always saying hello and sawasdee kaa along the way. they were very attentive when we asked for rides into chaweng and bo phut. they were also very helpful any time we had questions about anything. the infinity pool area is amazing and swimming around with a view like that was a complete delight. the beach area was nice, a little smaller than normal, but still quite lovely. a few more beach chairs and umbrellas would be great in that area as i know a lot of the lounge chairs were gone by first thing in the morning. that, if anything, would be my only suggestion. keep up the great work samui buri beach resort, we will definitely recommend this place to others when traveling so koh samui.

Great Spot on Maenam Beach”
We loved our stay at Samui Buri Beach Resort. We had a pool access room, however next time I wouldn't bother with that as the main pool is located right next to the beautiful beach and we spend most of our time there. Room was very big and spacious as was the bathroom. We were only there for 2 nights so the fact that the hotel didn't have alot of shops etc around it didn't bother us, but it is a very quiet part of the island. Very handy to the Lomprayah Pier for ferries to Koh Tao & Koh Phangan which was great. All in all, we loved our stay at Samui Buri and would stay again.

Fantastic family holiday”
We have recently returned from a family holiday where we spent 5 nights at this resort. The hotel was in a quiet location in Maenam beach but we preferred to be away from the busy beach in Chaweng and this suited us perfectly. The pool access room was very nice and we really enjoyed having our personal pool space. The main swimming pool and the beach is fully recommended to any one. Our toddler had a great time. Breakfast buffet was very good with plenty of choices. There are restaurents nearby for for you to venture out. The staff was very friendly and attentative. The shuttle service to Fishermans market and Chaweng beach was very helpful. The day we went to Chaweng we asked the hotel if we could use the facilities at their sister hotel in Chaweng and they arranged this for us. We asked the hotel to pick us up from the Samui airport as we arrived late evening but going back we booked a local taxi which was 200Baht cheaper. Overall we would thouroughly recommend this. The main negative point was that there was no wifi even in the hotel lobby, however the nearby restaurents provide this so we did not have a major problem with this.

Very pleasant stay”
My wife and I stayed 10 days at the Samui Buri Hotel. We liked very much the decor and architecture in the classic Thai style which sets this hotel apart from the regular 5 star. The location is very good, being private and with immediate access to a lovely beach. Guest room and all facilities and amenities were at 5 star standard and the staff was very attentive and efficient.

Excellent Stay, top class facilities, service & beach.”
Title says it all really. Great service on check in, big spacious rooms with large balcony. Good wifi. Excellent restaurant for breakfast, lunch & dinner. Really nice infinity pool but we spent our time on the sun loungers on the beautiful sandy beach. Samui Buri was a great choice. Highly recommended.

Very relaxing stay”
We had a wonderful stay at the Samui Buri hotel. The rooms are fabulous, very big, with all the amenities. DVDs are available in the. Reception free of charge, and the service is wonderful everywhere but the pool. There the service is not attentive, and staff does not know English. Rooms are very clean. There was a smell in the bathroom, but i understand that is a problem throughout Samui. The selection at breakfast is vast. For lunch, we ate at two vendors on the beach that sold fruit, spring rolls and corn. Very tasty. The location is removed from the Fisherman's village, and taxis are expensive. Overall a very pleasant experiance.

Big pool right on the beach!”
We chose to take the mini-van offered at the Airport to anywhere on the island for 150 baht per person, and it turns out this saved us 300 baht from what the Hotel would have charged. We were greeted with a drink and cool towel and the Reception staff were very helpful with all our questions throughout our stay, as this was our first time to Samui. Our room was huge, with two double beds, and as well as a welcoming bowl of fruit there are some other nice touches that appear during your stay - I don't want to spoil the surprise, but they are thoughtful additions that we have not experienced anywhere else before or since in Thailand (and we had no problem with wi-fi, which was free!). We enjoyed the varied choice of breakfasts that were freshly prepared to order, but didn't use the Restaurant in the evening - it looked a little pricey for us - but there are half a dozen very nice Restaurants within 10 minutes walk. We used the free shuttle (make sure you book in advance) to Fisherman's Village and this was a nice change as there is lots more choice, and a street market in the evening - we paid 300 baht for the taxi return. We took the 10 minute walk along the beach to the Ferry to book our tickets, and when we were leaving the Hotel provided a car to get us there free of charge. Although this was our most expensive Hotel in our stay in Thailand I would recommend it as it is in a serene location and the staff and extra touches made us feel like we were really having a special holiday!

Nice place, bad wifi!”
A nice relaxing stay in a pool villa at a good rate. Quiet and away from the noise of more built up parts of Koh Samui. A few good restaurants within short walking distance. The hotel does a good turndown with scented oils and a filled ice bucket. Only downside is you have to pay for wifi. Not too expensive if you buy the package but its not good, keeps dropping, sometimes the speeds are too slow to be usable and very frustrating. Breakfast is included and is very good overlooking the beach. Staff are nice and friendly. Good pool with lots of sunbeds around and on beach.

Wonderful stay!”
What a wonderful place for a family stay on Koh Samui. Excellent facilities and an amazing room/accompanying pool to die for. Brecky spread was the best we've seen on our three week Southern Thailand trip. We will be back.

Good Service Good Hotel, especially the Deluxe rm!”
this resort is beautiful in any ways. compare to the beach in chaweng beach, i really love here!! we spent 2days in the deluxe room with two double beds and 2days in the deluxe pool villa. deluxe room with two double bed is tremendous and its price is only half of deluxe pool villa. both me and my boyfriend love the deluxe room better. its layout and space are all much better than the villa. plus, the service of this resort is quite good. we felt we were really taken care of. they met all our needs and helped us a lot! all we need to do is enjoy!!

Awesome resort”
This is really a 5* that has just aged a bit, the facilities are top notch, rooms quite large and well appointed. A small pool/waterway right on back patio of room makes ads to the feel of privacy and luxury. The beach was best we saw in Samui. The water depth drops off fast which makes swimming quite easy. We were able to get the An Thong boat tour right from the nearby pier (200M away) - NICE. The resort is isolated from Chaweng and fisherman pier which makes it very quiet, but, does require a taxi to go most places. Many quaint little restaurants and bars nearby did well for eve meals. IF YOU WANT TO GET AWAY and have a QUIET vacation, this is a Great choice!

Very nice hotel”
it was wonderful our stay at samui buri. but in my opinion if you travel with family, it is better to be in bhoput area, taxi is very expensive in koh samui, and the hotel is quite apart from the center. the hotel is very nice, but the restaurant are just ok, and there is only one.

Lovely pool and restaurant on beach”
The property is long and narrow so no villas or rooms have ocean view. All have private little pools but the main pool is large, clean and very close to the beach. Beach has coarse sand and is rather dirty - the staff never cleaned up the garbage washed in at high tide. Restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating. Breakfast quite good but could use more variety - exact same fruit choices every day. Dinner way too expensive so nobody seems to eat there - several very nice local restaurants nearby. Biggest disappointment is that the rooms are completely sealed - not one single window can be opened - very claustrophobic - forced to use a/c all the time which I hate when close to the beach. However, rooms are large and clean but too dark. Shuttle to Chaweng only at 4pm - inconvenient time and no return service. Airport transfer way too expensive but several taxi services just outside the property with reasonable prices

Quiet Luxuary”
Bungalow with plunge pool: Pros: Spacious room, private pool, beautiful gardens with good staff. Perfect for a romantic holiday. Cons: The layout of the Bungalow could have been better to be more useful. Overall We enjoyed our stay there a great place to be if all you want to do is relax, swim and enjoy peace. The gardens are really beautiful with birds too. Its an amazing hotel and right on the beach. Very nice having breakfast by the beach too. If you want to indulge and have peace this is a good place!

Was great to be back”
We came back again to this Hotel as our last visit was wonderful. There are 2 main building with excellent rooms with balcony and also private bungalows, some with pool. The beach pool is big and very modern. The restaurant is direct at the beach and a great location. The food can be better we think (Thai and western) but the service make it up again. Very friendly staff and I am sure we will be back again.

Fantastic beach location and great for a quieter family experience”
This was a great hotel - I would recommend it to anyone looking to stay away from the hordes in Chaweng and Lamai. The beach was lovely - it felt as if we had our own private beach. The staff were very attentive and breakfast was both plentiful and delicious. The massage ladies on the beach were wonderful! There is the offer of a free shuttle bus to Chaweng or Bo Phut every night which we did - it was lovely however to return to our quiet retreat.

Relaxing and Secure”
We were greeted with a lovely drink and cold face towels on arrival. Lovely. Spacious room, delicious breakfast, lovely staff - they came to turn the duvets every evening and left a flower on the bed which I thought was sweet. I felt safe as there were cameras all around the resort. Fabulous breakfast, wide choise, I personally loved sushi. The sand on the breach is abit rough but had fabulous time swimming in the sea and pool. All well looked after and I would recommend this place to anyone who look for a quiet and relaxing holidays (option to take a taxi to chewang i think) for busier night life.
