A place with history and culture. Truly enjoyed the stay as we were able to get a glimpse of the beauty of the place during the stay along with kind service.
We decided to go with Sekizenkan Kashotei for our first ryokan experience together. We booked the Nami room which is one of the more pricier rooms. The experience was out of this world, the service was exceptional. I will definitely return here again.
In the summer of 2024, we stayed for a day and really liked this place, the 40,000 hot springs. We stayed at the Jishan Pavilion; the side of Jiashong Ting Villa has more modern renovations. Our room had a hot spring, and it was really beautiful at night. Many people come here to take pictures. We love the hot springs here, and if you like the movie Spirited Away, you must check in here. Breakfast and dinner were also pretty good!
Walk 2-3 minutes from the bus stop, close to shops in the city. Dinner food is amazing, like eating Michelin food. The breakfast set bento is delicious, but getting around the hotel is difficult because there are many buildings and you might get lost. It's an old ryokan, one of the oldest in Japan, over 380 years old.

My recent visit to Sekizenkan Kashotei Sanso was nothing short of magical, and I'm excited to share my remarkable experience at this extraordinary ryokan. One of the most enchanting aspects of this ryokan is its historical significance as the backdrop for the renowned Ghibli film "Spirited Away." The sense of stepping into the world of Miyazaki's masterpiece is truly captivating. Walking through the halls, I couldn't help but feel a sense of wonder and nostalgia. Sekizenkan Kashotei Sanso is an authentic ryokan that effortlessly captures the essence of Japanese tradition and hospitality. From the moment I arrived, I was warmly welcomed and made to feel like an honored guest. The attention to detail and commitment to preserving the ryokan experience was evident throughout my stay. One of the unique features that set this ryokan apart is the tunnel that connects the main building with the annex, creating a chic and mysterious atmosphere. It's like a journey into another world, enhancing the overall experience and making the ryokan feel like a hidden gem. The culinary experience at Sekizenkan Kashotei Sanso is an absolute delight. The kaiseki dinner and breakfast were not only visually stunning but also a true celebration of Japanese flavors and seasonal ingredients. Each dish was a work of art, and I savored every bite. The dedication to gastronomic excellence was evident in every detail, making the meals a highlight of my stay. Of course, no stay at a ryokan is complete without a dip in the onsen, and Sekizenkan Kashotei Sanso excels in this regard. The onsen is, in a word, superb. The mineral-rich, rejuvenating waters, combined with serene natural surroundings, provided a deeply relaxing and therapeutic experience. It was the perfect way to unwind and soak in the tranquility of the ryokan. In summary, my stay at Sekizenkan Kashotei Sanso was nothing short of magical. From its association with "Spirited Away" to its commitment to authentic ryokan traditions, th
